- As a lot of you already know, my wife and I lost our 15 month old son last year, and around the holidays can be especially tough for us and our family. I've been working on this song for him for a while now and finally had the strength to get it finished. Definitely wasn't an easy one to write and even harder to sing, but it's the best way I know how to get everything out and not bottle it all up. Hope you like it Kelton, mom and dad love you ❤️
I’m not the type to ever comment on videos. But this one I must. You are an excellent songwriter I just wish you didn’t have to write this one. I’m sorry for your loss I know he was everything to you. I had a son born two weeks ago. I have kind of took it for granted I guess. The song has open my eyes and helped me realize that I’m not guaranteed him or anyone tomorrow. When I get home tonight I’ll cherish him so much more. Thank you Dalton.

I hope you and your wife are able to be strong and get through Mothers Day today alright. An older comment of mine on here got a like this morning and brought me back to this song, which now has new meaning. My brother and his wife lost what woukd have been their first child a month ago, just a few weeks before her delivery date, so today is the first Mother's Day that did not happen. I am staying at their place and was lead to this song immediately up waking up. I know today is going to be a really tough day for them. I have not shared your song with them yet, it is too soon, but it will come in time. Nonetheless, I can see more first hand what you are going through, through their fresh struggles, and I am praying for them and your guys this morning.

Damn this hurts. I am crying for your pain, and I am going ahead and taking the opportunity to also release all of mine at the same time while I am at it. So terribly sorry for your loss. It is also such a tough thing to immortalize an impossibly painful memory like this with a keeper of a song like this. I sometimes think of this emotional struggle when I hear it in a song that I love and think of the torture it has to be for the artist to have to play it over and over. I always hoped it would become a source of strength over time, but we honestly know that is not always the case. My loss is significantly diluted compared to yours, but you're song still resurrects my pain from a long distance separation from my 3 young kids after a tough divorce. I have started to write my own songs about this but I stop every time because I am not ready or strong enough yet. Given my own struggles with this, I hope that you posting of your song signifies that you have found your peace and strength to fully pull through. Yeah the pain will never go away completely, but I at least hope you, your wife, and your family have found the peace and strength to go on constructively in the wake of such a painful tragedy.
This gives us a TINY glimpse of the pain you feel multiplied by a million on a daily basis.... As I wipe my tears I hope you know i'm praying for you and your family.

Im learning to play some songs on the guitar. I loved how you done man who hung the moon. So I’ve been practicing the song learning it from your video. I wanted to be able to play it for my kid. But we lost our first child early. Put it down moved on to diff songs but we found out soon after my wife was pregnant again so after a long time of wondering if it was safe to actually be excited about it again I came back around to wanting to learn the song. I sat down to listen to you play man who hung the moon to practice. Then I seen this video and I was floored. Man I know I don’t know you personally but my heart goes out to you. I know you was as excited to be a dad as I was/am.
