Love the collab with savagegeese! One of my favorite car channels
That color is absolutely AMAZING on that car. Reminds me of the French Racing Blue of the 1930's racing cars.
Excellent job and superb products used!
PPF application looks like simultaneously the most therapeutic and most infuriating task on earth.
You nailed it on the head! 😂
Exactly!😅
Love this style video! Please make more
Will do!
E-man’s a legend
The car looks amazing from the window tint to the paint protection. It was really cool how E man cut the depth for the rocker panel freehand. I also liked how you explained in more detail the products you used because us detailers are nosy. Cool car supplies shirt too. Those shirts should come as a bonus with new polishers and other expensive purchases.
Facts
Cheers! July 4th sale… you will get an option for a free product! Shirts are included.
I never through mark would be the guy still masking. Holy Shit I love savage geese and you guys. Love seeing you together
Question: Should you paint correct before ppf since all the imperfections is gonna recovered up?
was just about to type this......... why PPF before paint correction??
Ppf somewhat hides imperfections on the surface but ceramic coating does exactly opposite it will highlight the defects after coating
Correct me if I'm wrong
@@PrathmeshTaricorrect, polishing minor swirls before applying ppf will make no difference in the look of the paint.
Beautiful work for a beautiful car. I just want to know what was the music at 20:40, please.
The first toyota in the video had a version of the latest type paint I see on anything from a Subaru to a Honda, BMW or Porsche. What can you tell me about it? Like a matte finish. I see a lot of vehicles seen in the gray version.
Does the paint not get damaged by the razor blades when trimming the ppf? The 16:04 the installer cuts the ppf on the car. I would imagine that it would leave some kind of razor cuts on the paint itself, right? This is my main concern when it comes to wrapping vehicles.
Can't wait for more savagegeese + Chicago auto pros collab
What was the cost for all this? My 2023 red brz limited 6spd is coming this october.
That car is made in Japan, alongside the Subaru model. Subaru is 20% owned by Toyota. Excellent build quality!!! Change the oil on a regular basis, do preventative maintenance and that vehicle should last forever.
Don’t know why: the stickers from the dealer/sale still there?
Great video guys.
Question, what’s the pouch everyone’s using around their chest? That is waaay better than a waist/belt one for sure.
Conceal carry bro
@@tone3560 I’m not American so not familiar. But carrying your gun in this doesn’t seem very concealed?
@@Obsessioncardetailing It would be if you cant see it..hence conceal carry. Sure in public it would be suspicious.
I miss the shop vlogs 😭🤌🏾 can you go back to some of the OG style, walk around the shop vlogs? showing different cars, different work? like you used to? 🙏🏽🔥
Hows the llori ilighfoot situation?
PPFing headlamps yay or nay? Some claim it will ruin UV protective coat after removed. Plus the time will come soon anyhow since it will be yellowed or not clear.
I don’t think it would remove it but Ppf provides additional UV protection and enhances gloss a bit as well as hide light scratches and swirls. Basically, added protection for many years to come.
Get good quality ppf
Latest ppf’s such as defender by gswf provide lifetime yelloing and cracking warranty.
Do you normally do paint correction before you apply PPF?
If it needs it….yes
What advantages are there to applying the tint to the outside window?
Certain vehicles require the tint to be “shrunk” to the shape of the glass on the outside before it is installed on the inside. Typically frameless windows and other curvy windows will need to be shrunk.
@@michaelatkinson6022 oohh ok, i see now. thanks
Interesting info/processes and nice presentation, but why the truckload of artificial hand claps?
At that point why not just PPF the whole car?
My GR86 came with the rear bumper applique (thank you Toyota allocation system.....), but I wanted to get the whole rear bumper covered. The rear bumper of my 2001 Jetta is a wreck after 20 years, even being careful. I also want to PPF the roof of my 86 because my Jetta ended up with quite a few chips along the first few inches of the roof. So even just doing the front, rockers, rear bumper piece, I question why not get the whole car done?
Yeah I was wondering about that too. Seems weird
Probably cost at that point. That’s my best guess.
@@sheperd6768 yea perhaps
Which PPF did you use? SunTek? Maybe I missed it.
Xpel
Why would you not do the paint correction first before the PPF?
I went thru the comments and seems very popular question lol personally i would at least do a finishing polish underneath so it keeps all the paint the same
Do you guys franchise?
I wish you guys well through Covid. Noticed the white guy wearing a mask. Get well soon buddy.
Definitely not my only car homie.
A little surprised the paint correction occurred after PPF installation...
How much to to ppf the whole gr86?
7k
Why not paint correct BEFORE PPF?
See my comment above.
How much was this entire job
Wouldn't you guys want to correct the car fist, then apply the ppf to the parts you want to apply it to? Seems like such an aggressive correction as well hitting the whole car with a microfiber pad and cutting compound as well.
I'm confused as well. Did they correct and ceramic the PPF? Or was the last part filmed before putting PPF?
If it needs it… yes do paint correction. PPF will cover most scratches as well.
@@xFlared Nah they PPF'd where they wanted to PPF and then they just blasted the clear coat with a microfiber cutting disk. Never corrected the parts of the car that got PPF which IMO is lazy
@@spencerb3429 lazy? YeAh you’re right. You should open up a PPF shop and show them how it’s done.
@@Obsessioncardetailing When a customer pays that high of a premium for a correction and PPF and they don't get a full correction then yep, I can say its lazy.
I usually watch Savage Geese when my T-levels are too high and I need to down them a bit. But it's still amazing that people are willing to buy new vehicles, just to drive them straight over to shops like this for thousands more on PPF, corrections, and coatings, in which they will all go to S in time. Especially when they are everyday cars and/or see track use.
Bro when i see that knife so near that pain, deffinitley i do not want to get ppf doing it this way lol
Impossible to install without cutting.
@@pcar5 in these days, people are able to install ppf without cutting thank to cnc machine 🤔
I talked to someone doing vinyl wraps, and he told me in training, they need to learn to cut a stocker on a balloon without cutting the balloon. That means that even when the knife is on the PPF on the car, the paint is not damaged. As long as you have a quality installer that is...
Okay so like, how much would something like this cost? The premise of the video was Savagegeese wanting to get something the normal customer would be getting, yet the video talks nothing about pricing. Hoping someone can answer this for me!
Alot
At a minimum, I would say $2500. I have a 17 BRZ and asked for similar services and was quoted similarly.
$2500, no chance. More like $4k+ for all this work.
Aren't you supposed to paint correct the paint before applying paint protection film?
Was going to ask too
Never had ppf before. Why don’t you paint correct/detail the car first and then ppf over the top rather than paint correcting just the other area with no ppf?
Typically up to the customer. Film hides minor defects so correction before PPF isn’t really necessary for most vehicles. Also, if and when you remove the film there may be some adhesive left behind. There’s potential to mar the paint when removing the adhesive, which would then need to be corrected. Ideally you want to leave as much paint on the vehicle as possible. This is all part of the customer education when it comes to PPF.
@@michaelatkinson6022 makes sense. Thanks. I managed to order one so thinking bout what I should get done.
In my experience it has been the complete opposite. PPF enhances defects underneath the film. I always polish then apply PPF.
They do correct where film will be applied. It’s In other videos not this one
@@michaelatkinson6022 Might be good enough for a Japanese or US car but not for any high end vehicle. Nothing comes out of the factory with paint that doesn't need some correction.
When did peta from the hunger games start working there?
How much did it all cost if someone wanted to get it done?
probably around 4000$ (ppf + ceramic coating)
@@joliewu8625 yikes. 😬 So these services are for the rich only. That must be why you only see them on Ferraris and Porsches. Love to see a company develop a PPF package that covers your car but reasonably affordable by the average working person.
@@gryphon123456 yes and no. I am not rich by any means but I love my car (a Mazda) and I was able to get a 500$ coating done by a Carpro certified detailer. I was lucky that he was having a sale. Higher end ceramic coating can be 2000+. But there are detailers that do 500-1000 coatings. You want to look for detailers that are certified by good brands though such as Carpro, Gtechniq, gyeon, opti coat, etc.
Im from California and full front PPF costs around 2000 give or take
@@gryphon123456 plus this is a Toyota .Though it is an 86. It takes people that care about their cars to get it detailed. Because really, you need to maintain the detail after its done. Having a ceramic coating or PPF doesnt mean you can just stop taking care of it
@@gryphon123456 although affordable detailing packages are nice!! You also dont NEED a coating. You can do yourself a quality sealant or have a detailer do it for as little as 300.
how you are not scratching the car with that knife.
OBERK!!!! TRUTH!!!! OBERK!!!!
GENTLEMEN, I'm in Australia and have ordered a white GR 86. Can you recommend anyone near Sydney ? How much did this cost, we want the exact same job completed Thank You
I love how everyone here is an expert, talking about paint correction before PPF, saying how you’re lazy etc.
I’m pretty sure they know what they’re doing.
And newsflash, PPF hides a lot of scratches, even 1500grit sandpaper. Why remove clear coat if not neccessary?
How much?

These detail ships that do this process charge intirely too much. For so many years folks would wash and polish their vehicles some using products that make claims that their product is the best. It appears reinventing coming up with better and more expensive ways to seal, preserve car automotive paints.
Confused - you put all of that wrap over the paint and then do a paint correction - makes no sense!!!!
The thought crossed my mind, but I think because only portions of the car was PPFed, they paint corrected the parts of the car that was not PPFed before ceramic coating it.
Still waiting to new a new new car to come to yo u guys. Not worth the time with used in my opinion.
Paint correction???? No new vehicle has perfect paint.
PPF will hide any minor marring. I'd say in most cases the deep stuff is what you need to focus on, light scratches just won't come through PPF.
Looks good but has it still got a shit engine in it
Take the mask off man
Time wasters.
