I like the departure from the typical metallic sunburst dial. Love the separate second hand and love the deleted date window. TBH, I'd like to see watch brands do away with date windows. On hand-winds and autos that I wear a few times a month, I never bother setting them. And Quartz, they're always wrong for the shorter months. But that's just me? QUESTION/POLL: How many people here don't bother setting their date windows?
Yes I totally agree! I feel myself wanting more no date options lately haha, I don’t mind setting them when I have to, but it can get annoying if every watch I had were all with date complications or worse: day/date. Great question, pinned so others can chime in! 😁👍
I generally don’t mind setting them, but I prefer date and even day/date complications. For the most part, I keep those watches running, so only occasionally have to reset…if they lose power before I get to them, or a watch is out of rotation. Great question/poll!
I just bought this watch in rose black black specifically because I don’t want a date window and I want the face to be symmetrical, if only the Seiko cocktail times had no date windows people could access high finish faces with symmetrical layout without going King Seiko and above
You're the man! Nothing like tying a watch to a moment of reflection. The daily winding makes it inevitable that your buddy will spend time thinking about his father. A very thoughtful gift. As far as the 21mm...talk to Omega! My only beef with my Seamaster, but I'm fine with the bracelet, so not as bad as it could be.
Thanks man! 😎🍻👍 I am hoping he enjoys it and I’m sure it will last, as long as he doesn’t overwind it lol. I think this will be his first mechanical watch ever. And yes I’ve heard that about Omega with 21mm and also with 19mm lugs...ugh! Why Omega why?!? 🤦🏻♂️
I never heard of the watch so I’m watching I’m figuring this is a thousand dollar watch minus the non hacking. Everything else was giving me the impression this was a luxury watch. What a surprise!
@@DavidSchwartzjr I did and I was shocked. The size is too large to be a dress piece but those manual wind movements are typically seen in pocket watches so I understand.
@@AvgJoeWatchReviews Yeah man, for $120 its awesome! I do think its too large for a dress piece but my friend should be able to pull it off with his larger wrists. 😎🍻👍
That’s awesome Dave! Very nice of you to pay it forward! I have done the same with some of my watches and it feels great to give out watches to friends and family! I love Lobinni, it’s my favorite brand on Aliexpress besides Pagani Design and a few others but Lobinni is the best one for dress watches. It’s like the Patek Philippe or A. Lange & Söhne of Aliexpress.😂 I have a few of their watches including this model (but rose gold case with white dial) and the details and finishings on them are incredible considering the price.
Thanks John! It really does feel great to share pieces from our collections with friends and loved ones, I agree 100%! I can see why this brand is one of your favs...the quality and finishing is truly stunning for the price point! Enjoy yours, I may end up picking up another one someday hehe 😎🍻👍
I like the watch but as you rightly point out, 21mm lug width, why or why? Otherwise, gret looking watch. On a different note, I just wanted to thank you for your support of Jody over at JOMW the other week. It's good to see you watch guys all sticking together through this nonesense. It also speaks volumes for the kind of guy you are. Take care. JP
Thanks, JP! Yes those odd lugs always make me facepalm lol. And thanks for your kind words, Jody is one of my favs in the #watchfam so when I saw that I had to do my part to help. I know he would have done the same, or more, for any of us too! Cheers my friend! 😎🍻👍

It's such a good looking watch. I love the dial and it's thin too! I hope your friend loves it! The crown is a really nice detail too. The caseback is 🤯.
You sir, are a class act! Great looking piece and excellent review. Watchbrands - stop with the odd lug widths already! Dang you're not joking about the crunchiness wow.
Thanks Norm! Yes, brands should be banned from making odd lug widths haha! There's just something about hand wind movements that sound and feel so cool! Glad you enjoyed the review and thanks for the kind words man! 😎🍻👍
Very cool piece I do like these seagull powered handwinding watches & the fact that some effort has gone into finishing the movement I great to see plenty of value for the $ A really nice gift & with great sentiment behind it too I'm sure you're friend will appreciate it.
Thanks Adrian! Miss you buddy! It was really impressive to see the overall quality for the price (and I was able to save a bit more buying it pre-owned, hehe). Maybe I can do an update vid after I give it to my buddy to share his reaction or whatnot. Cheers man! 😎🍻👍
Absolutely gorgeous watch and the story of friendship behind the giveaway was so beautiful. How nice to wear it like that before giving it away to a dear friend.
Thanks so much, Ray. I am just now seeing your message so please forgive my delay in replying. My friend still wears the watch to this day so I'm glad it is something he is enjoying on a daily basis and I am glad you enjoyed the video!
Really beautiful watch, shame it's not around 40mm but I'm kinda guessing that's due to the movement size but very pretty 😍 Great content as usual Dave😎👍
I bet there are some wide 20 mm straps and narrow 22 mm straps that will fit the 21 mm width just fine... You just have to find the straps, which would be the hard part...
David you are a class act my friend, wonderful that you are doing that for your friend and I’m sure it will be a piece that will help him to cherish those important memories. A beautiful time piece, a beautiful tribute piece, a beautiful story, from a beautiful human being, thanks for sharing David, this was awesome sauce.
