I am grateful for this tutorial, but it's been ten years since posting and this is the only one that I can find helping Viking customers. I've called tech support at Viking several times with my ongoing issues and everyone has been helpful and patient, but it's a challenge to assist with these issues over the phone. I feel like I'm spinning in circles and regret not being able to find an installer with experience to do the installation. So in my case it's trial by fire with a big learning curve. I wish that Viking would post more tutorials that is my specific to common calls into tech support. At this point, I regret ever going in this direction.
I have 4 gate trigger cables that were connected to my T-21 viking gate operator where does the green and white cables connect to..seems like the tech pulled them without noting where they go to
Around 6:58 I was having a hard time finding how to program a new opener (not a liftmaster, just a cheap Chamberlain). Hold down channel one button until the LED lights up, then hold your gate opener button down. Then the LED will turn off and then your remote should work
Warning: Don’t turn the heater on (in either the gate open or gate closed setting) unless you have a physical stop. The heater on setting makes the gate motor turn on and chain sprocket will rotate. Without physical resistance (fence post for example) the gate will start moving AFTER it’s stopped and has reached the user set open or closed position. Risky way of heating since it involves voltage to the motor IMO.
Viking is a garbage product. 1 year in on an install. Functioning fine for a year then board has decided it's done and has permanently vacationed. Sleeves on motor screw drives are worn to hell. Zero friction from greased gate hinges. Highly pissed.
You posted this 8 years ago stating that more training videos would be coming. I can’t wait to see the video that took 8+ years to develop
