I think on the TV show False Face was an excellent villain. He only had one episode. I also believe his looks were a little too scary for young kids, so that might explain why he had one episode only on TV. I liked your reading of the Batman comic book.😃

The Batman '66 comic book revealed False Face's real name to be Basil Karlo. Right after this reveal, Basil ingests a chemical he had stolen to cure himself and turns into Clayface. This is a stroke of genius by the writer, since it sets up Falce Face as a transitional identity to Clayface, pretty much the same as the Red Hood was for the Joker.
You know, I missed the other way Rogues made videos: "Reporting from Arkham Asylum, this is Mr. Rogues!" What a good times were those. Anyway, thanks for the video, Rogues. Include this video in your playlist of forgotten comic book super villains. Bye.
Two-Face, False Face, even Black Mask and Hush if you really think about it. What's with Batman villains and having an obsession with faces and identity? Edit: Black Mask not Blackface 😅
I would assume that Gotham is such a depressing, soul sucking city that is very easy to lose yourself in (not in a good way). I could see why some antisocial geniuses might take up funny tropes and cause a fiasco to show the world that they aren’t pieces of garbage on the sidewalk, that they are indeed.. super.
I'm going to assume False Face's face at the the end was also false. - I particularly liked Batmans mistake and then him trying to justify it. I think however that with the television show they actually improved this character a lot and made him much more menacing.
Nice video on a forgotten villain and I especially love your recently new reaction videos. If you really want, there is an episode of the Mask the animated series episode titled Split Personality Season 1 episode 15. Let me just say it's a great homage to your favourite villain Two Face. This episode is a must see for you Mr. Rogues.
Talking about unutilised and not-that-well known villains, are you ever going to talk about one of the baddies introduced by Grant Morrison on his Batman run, Dr Simon Hurt?
This comic was too highbrow for me, really presupposes a knowledge of the self with regards to existentialism, especially in a post industrial society where the frustration of the daily grind compels man to venture into the night and fight one another. I mean just too many intellectual themes here. It excludes the more layman audience.
False-Face also appeared in the Brave and the Bold show (of course) in an opening against Batman and Detective Chimp, it is a short appeance but i liked it😋
I didn't know that False Face wasn't created for the 60's tv show. Silly story - when I was a young girl and I watched the tv show in syndication I had no idea how to pronounce the name of the actor who played False Face.
I always assumed he was a Clayface stand in for the 60's Batman TV show. On account of the fact that Clayface has never had a on screen performance and back in the 60's I don't think they could have made the practical effects to pull off a convincing mud monster with appearance changing effects.
The real reason they put False Face in the series is that originaly they wanted to put Two Face in the series, considering Clint Eastwood for the part, but they thought that a villain with half face disfigured was too terifying for the children, so they put False Face.
Have you picked up any of the celebration of 75 years dc comic collections ? I ask because Batman’s rogues several have there own volumes I’m looking in to picking up the two face book .
It is odd to realize despite being called campy and all, the 60s tv show was actually pretty accurate to the Dick Sprang era. Those comics were mainly action comedies with some exceptions here and there.
I always thought of the other lesser known Batman villain Jane Doe as a darker, twisted version of False Face. Maybe she should be called False Face. It’s much more catchy than Jane Doe. ‘Course, that’s just my opinion.
Two episodes: Day of the Dark Knight, where he participates in an ill fated prison breakout (alongside other 60s rogues like Egghead, Zelda the Great and Bookworm), and later in the teaser to The Golden Age of Justice, where he tried to steal a golden skull before running afoul of Batman and Detective Chimp.
I wish that doorman was a recurring character that Batman would falsely accuse of being a villain whenever he saw him.
I think on the TV show False Face was an excellent villain. He only had one episode. I also believe his looks were a little too scary for young kids, so that might explain why he had one episode only on TV. I liked your reading of the Batman comic book.😃
Fun fact for those who don't know throne who played false face played the judge in the 90s series

False Face is a villain with a really fun gimmick. I think he was used well in the 60's show and I'd like to see him used in a few more stories.
He's also revealed to be Basil Karlo in the comic continuity.

After your video, I rewatched the Batman 66 episode which I have no memory of. What a great episode and a menacing character! Very comic booky
In Batman brave and the bold cartoon there was a story with Batman and detective Chimp vs Fallseface
Mr. Rouges appearing in person ruins his mystique.

I like it when Mr. Rogues reads comics for us
Arthur Crandall was also the name of a Simpsons character. He was the ventriloquist who operated Gabbo.
I feel like Jane Doe is similar in concept to False-Face. Both are supervillains who use disguises as a gimmick.
False-Face is actually Clayface, in the Batman 1966 comic series, he turns into Clayface and is revealed to be Basil Karlo
Malachi Throne who played False Face later voiced Two Face's superego The Judge in the New Batman Adventures and Fingers the Gorilla in Batman Beyond.
I honestly think False-Face could have a lot of potential
Basically ‘66’s “clayface” equivalent.
I always assumed he was a Clayface stand in for the 60's Batman TV show. On account of the fact that Clayface has never had a on screen performance and back in the 60's I don't think they could have made the practical effects to pull off a convincing mud monster with appearance changing effects.
