This was a fantastic compression of 50+ years of history into a 30 minute block. Great job as always. Would love to see this done for other beloved attractions, especially ones that have also been removed or dramatically modified in some way.
Great Video! Thanks for preserving the story of the Country Bears! One thing that's been gone for a long time was when the exit brought us next door into the Mile Long Bar where we were greeted with Buff, Max & Melvin again continuing the final song with "Come on in and sit a spell". I remember sitting there with a Coke and watching the three of them wake up every time the show let out. I don't remember what year it was and it's hard to find mention of, but Pecos Bill's expanded and the Mile Long Bar, along with the second appearance of Buff, Max & Melvin, were gone.
27:47 Im glad in the end we got a show where the bears did play disney songs but they still kept it immersive without them having disney merchandise and basically telling you there just there because they are in a disney park
Fantastic video! Loved learning all the history of the Country Bears! …Would have loved to have that ski resort built! Was so surprised to hear about it and the Country Bears origin. I love that Walt Disney was always thinking about the whole family’s entertainment! ❤️
What a great video!🐻❤️ I'm a California girl and have never been to Disney World but I remember the Country Bear Jamboree at Disneyland fondly from my childhood.🥹 There was so much history in this video I didn't know. The production and editing are really great. Shout out to the whole team who put this together!👏 Even better than a Behind the Attraction episode from Disney+🎉
Great video! It was amazing to meet you, Tom, in the Country Bears line on the last night of its run. So glad to be a part of the history for this wonderful show!
Spectacular video! I love the history of this company and it's all it's nostalgia! I just wish the current Disney creatives today respected it's history as much as we do! It seems they are obsessed today with trying to identify and erase every past thing that they call "problematic". They seem to want to "fix" history and "purify" it for a "modern" and MUCH more emotionally DELICATE and FRAGILE crowd. I love this video....fantastic job Tom!! This is a well written script.
For anybody that is emotionally injured by the jokes in the old Jamboree show?....I would suggest getting some help with learning how to cope with mild "edgy" humor. If that show triggers strong anxiety in anybody? Than that person will have a very difficult time processing much worse things that life throws at them. Learn to COPE with being offended instead of trying to cancel every TINY thing that could be even slightly offensive. Learn how to have thicker skin and everybody will be a stronger person for it.
@@clifftotten1116there’s absolutely no hope for the future generations of this country. Notice now none of these updates seem to make it to Japan, I assume because this wishy washy pandering crap hasn’t poisoned their society like ours
I liked the County Bear movie , I thought it was cute🥰🐻 I have a Big Al plush, from the 70's, in his red vest. The County Bears original version will be missed😢🐻, rest in peace 😔 I can only hope the next version will hold up too the original 🤞🏻🐻 Thanks for sharing the history of the County Bears🤗♥️🐻♥️🐻
You should do more theme park history documentaries, similar to the ones from Theme Park History, Yesterworld, Defunctland, and Expedition Theme Park. And also did you remember about doing a history series on Disneyland from 1955-today like you did with WDW?
The Classic Country Bear Jamboree that Stood at the Magic Kingdom for more than 50 Years will now be Missed. If You Still Want to see what the Classic Country Bear Jamboree looked like, You can head over to Tokyo Disneyland. If the New Show won't be Good, We will see What will Happen that Show in the Future.
That was a great video. thank you. I'm a Japanese person who has only seen the Country Bear Theater at Tokyo Disneyland. Since 2020, performances of the Christmas and summer special versions have been canceled, and I regret that they will probably never be performed again. But I want to see Country Bear Theater right now. thank you very much.
There isn’t too much different from the Tokyo version, however since this original show will be changed with boring old Disney songs your version is now a must see!
I can’t tell you enough how much I love this! You guys do such a wonderful job with Disney history and news. I am so proud that I support this channel. I love you guys and keep up the amazing job.
One correction. Walt’s interest in Ski Resorts starts before the Olympics, it starts with the construction of Sugar Bowl, which Walt Disney was an individual investor. This is how Walt got the Squaw Valley gig as some of the sporting events were actually staged at the near by ski resort, Sugar Bowl. The buildings of Sugar Bowl Resort which is still a working Ski Resort today in the California Sierra Nevada along the I-80, and was featured in the Goofy short the Art of Skiing. This is information that the Disney Company leaves out of their narrative, because they currently have no financial connection to the existing operation Sugar Bowl, and seeks to not promote the resort. Source is the WDFM.
This is yhe best explained show back ground or bearly. Tom touch on history of all the bears , their back story and music. One of the best that has come out sende slashe closed . Love the art work that they would use on the story board too. Thanks Tom very well done 👍👍👍👍👍 5 out of 5 🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻

@@thatcomicandmangafanfromdublin I feel like its cute for little kids and probably better for tourists since they already know the movies that the songs come from. I can see why they could keep it.
Thank you for exposing the plans to not only Country Bear Jamboree but also Enchanted Tiki Room. And helping to save them. Wish you could have done same for Splash Mountain as the Br’ers were beloved by Walt and part of Marc Davis’s legacy. 3/3 would have been great! 2/3 ok. Thanks WDW News today! Sad that current imagineering has no respect for Walt’s legacy they just want to IP everything…. At least the bears were saved even if it is singing Disney songs. I’ll take it!
Great video and included everything I remembered throughout the years in California. I always make time to see the show when I go down to Florida. It's removal from Disneyland was a terrible idea, Winnie the Pooh was not a good replacement.
Is the bears' eyes closing unevenly intentional? Are they supposed to be intoxicated or is it just their mechanisms not working right? It's very noticeable on Trixie, and she seems to be holding wine. I find their faces unsettling, but I have some automatonophobia that might play into it
This video makes me respect this attraction all the more. And to think its current iteration is so lacking in any kind of creativity what so ever is just sad! Thank goodness for video otherwise most of Walts greatness would be cancelled!
That's incredible and amazing 😀❤💖✨, and can you guys imagine the astronauts learning about what's in the videos of history on earth it will so cool when they hear it 😀.
This is the first I've heard of some of the voices being replaced in 1975. Would love to learn more about that, the reasons. Anyone have any links to further info?
To follow up, in comparing the 1972 album to later show fan recordings over the years, I can detect no change in Trixie's voice. I do hear the change in Zeke and Earnest, though.
I was never a big fan of CBJ due to it always looking and feeling outdated. However, I felt compelled to watch this video and I was pleasantly surprised.
How is this change different from the Christmas show or the Vacation show or the shortened version? I'm confused as the assertion that the show is being changed "for the first time" in it's history. What am I misunderstanding?
Those were only layovers. This new closure is due to a permanent change. They won’t be singing their normal songs anymore. When they come back, they’ll be singing Disney movie songs. Which songs will be included is unknown to us right now. One of the bears is getting his name changed as well. There might be some other small changes I’m forgetting, but basically it’s not the original country bears show anymore. They’re modernizing it a bit.
