The interviewer is incredible. Can he just do ALL the interviews from now on?!? What a wealth of knowledge and reverence for the cast and filmmakers. And he’s right. This continuation of the franchise is simply ACES! Every aspect is excellent and I can’t wait to see it multiple times. Brava to everyone involved.

Evil Dead 2013 was a really good movie too. One of the best remakes! It was a shame that they chose not to make a sequel.

@@thealjohnsonshow2188 actually not. That movie made 97 million at the box office against a budget of 17 million! And it's the highest grossing film of the franchise! I'm shocked that a sequel wasn't made. And after seeing this last night, Evil Dead 2013 is far superior.

From terrifying (Evil Dead), to silly (Evil Dead 2), to goofy (Army of Darkness), back to gory and unsettling (The Evil Dead), back to goofy but still gross (Ash vs The Evil Dead), and finally back to gory and absolutely, undeniably terrifying (Evil Dead Rise). This is a franchise that has been reborn time and time again… and has never once disappointed. This is literally one of the best horror movies in over a decade. It’s both satisfying to those who love atmosphere, tension, character, and storytelling…. To those who just live for the gore!!! It’s a wild ride, and I can’t wait to see it again.
There is still some goovy in evil dead rise. Ellie deadite nosehole been stab by scissors, also deadite reaction when been stabbed its like they disappoint, like "damn i knew this gonna happen" "man, i should use another better way than just run straight forward" lol
I love how much of a fan the host was of the franchise and how charismatic he was throughout this great interview. I loved the film and the host did a great job showing my love for the film.

After viewing the film opening night, and in the first screening, it is another solid entry of Evil Dead. I love how 2013 and Rise mimic the original first two releases. As 2013 is more straight horror while rise actually introduced some subtle humor throughout its runtime. Another great choice was to keep the same writing morals as the 2013 remake. As that film was a reflection of drug addiction, while Rise is the reflection of motherhood, and the fears that come from bearing children. Making it more than just a bloody disgusting good time. The story remains simplistic while grounding it with its characters. I honestly love Rose just as much as I like the 2013 remake. I honestly don’t think I can pick on over the other as the two films have their own different strengths and weaknesses. Yet both follow the somewhat the typical formula of the franchise. Sharing DNA but rise making it a little more refreshing of a watch. Instantly rewatchable and will totoally support and buy on 4K
Horror Icon Sam Raimi & Director Lee Cronin with the Cast of Evil Dead Rise in the 2023 SXSW Studio 1324pm 22.4.23 this shit is based on some cruddy events from wayyyy back.. and i would actually believe that. that said re-hashing the original movies is gonna be pretty tiresome and trynna make it some moralistic tale is also gonna be tiresome for those who love the franchise. an all out gore fest is what it's renowned for - and that's what we love about it. granted, an over indulgence in gore would also be tedious - but as this franchise has made gore and ffs and wtf!! it's trademark.... i can dig it!!! an excellent movie love-in, here.. but what else would they say about to one another..?.. they all look shagged out though, ie: tired.

Great interview but I feel like you barely spoke to Sam. Sam Raimi is such a humble guy, always uplifting others and pausing when someone else has something to say. You don't see that too much in Hollywood.

It's really too bad the Bruce is only seen as Ash. I LOVE Ash. I also LOVE Bruce. Burn Notice was a good show and he had the perfect character. The work he did with Hercules and Xena, Coach Boomer (yes, I was an adult watching Disney), and so much more. Bubba Ho-Tep is one of my favorites. Even if I see his face in smidge of a trailer for a show or movie, I will watch it. Doesn't matter if it's just a guest appearance or a full fledged character. His character in Escape from L.A. was just perfect. And yes, I've even watched Alien Apocalypse. Twice, maybe three times. I haven't seen everything he's done (I actually didn't care for Ash vs. The Evil Dead. Not sure why). However I was also in diapers when Evil Dead was released. So it wasn't till the early 90's when I was able to really watch them (I was into horror young thanks to my mom.) Dude seriously deserves more credit from his fans as more than Ash.

Saw it last night it has to be one of the most scariest movies I’ve ever seen.

Neeeeded a better ending. Lacked the isolating ending and craziness that the films that came before it had. I think another pass at the ending could have allowed me to walk out happy but the final monster was sooo easy to off and honestly looked so low budget and cringe.
This movie was a let down.. didn’t feel like an evil dead movie. Sad Bruce praises this movie when it has nothing to do with him.
After just watching Evil Dead Rise in the theater, I agree with the guy in the crowd. This was a propaganda/woke message that hijacked an Evil Dead movie as a vehicle. The woke stuff held no purpose to the story/character development and it was laid on pretty thick, especially early on in the movie. Remove the woke stuff and the movie was enjoyable though. The ending was almost the same as the last movie though, just in a parking garage.
Agreed, 1000% man. Movie was an all-female remake of the original, and a generic possession film to top it all off.
