I remember the backstory of the song that was given in one of the videos about Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a Chinese-born Japanese actress during WWII who hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li Xlanglan. Her secret was found out and she was deported back to Japan. I really appreciate and learn so much from the songs that Dimash chooses and why he chooses them. Now you need to see the same song from Singer 2017 when he was only 22 and just a shy young man. This live version of Autumn Strong is similar to the one I told you about, but the other was performed on the Singer contest. Also from 10:03-10:19 where he stops before the pianist and drummer plays, in the Singer version Dimash didn't stop but was hitting some Insane high notes including a whistle note. He probably didn't want to do it here because I noticed his throat sounded scratchy so he perhaps didn't want to take any risks to damaging his vocal cords, he knows his limits.
