Oh how I miss Six Flags Great America, especially Fright fest. That was my home park when living in Illinois until we moved to Florida. The Wizards a fun ride and Xflight! Thanks for sharing! 🤙🏼
East River Crawler is still there. It’s now the Lobster. The story is it opened as Lobster with the park in 1976 in Yankee Harbor but when Batman came in 1992, it was changed to East River Crawler. Then I’m 2017 it was removed from Yankee Harbor and relocated to Hometown Square after the Orbit retired in 2016 and it got its original name back. Yankee Clipper is still there, just now has an Aquaman theme. Ragin Cajun and Iron Wold both are now at Six Flags America in Maryland.
Okay, that makes so much sense. I was like, I thought it was the same name, but obviously, it had changed to the lobster. It's really interesting that they now moved to Maryland. Thank you for stopping by. I really appreciate it.
@@JessicaLynnOriginalStudios No problem, I find it cool you were an operator of Sky Whirl. I never got to go on on it as it left two years before I was born, but I am heavily fascinated with it because it really was a unique ride. There was also a Sky Whirl at California’s Great America too since that also used to be a Marriotts Great America. But that Sky Whirl sadly no longer exsists either. According to some research I did, the reason the Tree Triple Ferris Wheel model is extinct is due to a major design flaw these rides had. The arms were hollow and were susceptible to moisture. Water would seep down into the arms if it would rain and would reach the motors that would power each wheel. This also caused heavy rusting so while Sky Whirl remained a popular ride from when it opened to being retired, it simply aged badly. And actually what they found during removal of the ride was the insides were completely rusty. It’s a shame, but it did last for almost 3 decades.
@@tigerrocks503chase8 I always think about the Skywhirl in Beverly Hills Cop!! ua-cam.com/video/F9m4sL-LXA8/v-deo.htmlsi=0HRhUeTJbezbkYVm&t=65 This is very funny! We never had a moment like this, but still fun! Have a great day! - Jess
