Huge thanks to Fashion Chingu for sponsoring this video (Use code "ploopy10" for 10% off!): bit.ly/3PagzFW Do you agree with my ranking? Which dance did you like best? Let me know in the comments!
I truly believe SM was challenging them with that one. They were like "If you can hit those notes while doing that choreo we'll never ever give you choreo that hard again"
And they also use that choreo with their trainees! Or at least they used to I don't know if they still do but I know when I got into kpop in 2015 they were
no wonder trainees often get evaluated with itnw, if you can get through the whole thing looking and sounding good you definitely have what it takes to debut
‘Girls generation is the group that got me into kpop’ is a statement that sooo many kpop fans can say. Congrats to them on their comeback and good job on the video!
Jessica passed out while preforming Into the new world two times. The girls were also sweating like crazy so I agree that Into the new world is their hardest dances
Girls Generation got my respect because they had one of the hardest debuts ever, all live, no makeup and with such a hard choreography and yet they had amazing stage presence and energy.
@@i-nerd9978 yea I remember her saying when the had to go back to there places they could walk they had to skip to it the dance was non stop with no break
The key to girls generation choreography mastery is not about learning the best steps. Yes this is a crucial part in learning dances but if you notice GG's way, they are more about sharpness, showmanship and attitude. For example, the boys and genie. The steps may be simple but if dance this in a sloppy manner, this would come so awkward. Most of girls generation performances give this elegant, high end attitude, sharp moves and expression. The boys is really hard to cover if you lack confidence in dancing while ITNW is difficult in steps but is really enjoyable. Every time they perform, you can really notice elegant they move, how expensive they look with just their All Night dance routine, it shows. SM really hit the jackpot with GG. They are the best girl group in SM
Mad props to you for not only learning, filming and ranking all these choreos but having a new outfit for each one. And wearing heels whenever snsd did! Seeing their choreos together like this made me realise how snsd choreos definitely have a cohesive style, centred on the legs. Body shapes and even signature moves are repeated across different songs - I never noticed it before but it's really cool!
31:00 Perhaps that's why it's customary for aspiring female idols to study SNSD choreos~ I remember a lot of female idols said that they were made to study it in their respective academies and agencies. I really really enjoy this series!! Thank you~
Easiest to Hardest :) 1-Run Devil Run 2-Lion Heart 3-Forever 1 4-Party 5-Gee 6-Oh! 7-Girls' Generation 8-Mr. Mr. 9-Mr. Taxi 10-The Boys 11-Hoot 12-Genie 13-Kissing you 14-Baby Baby 15-All Night 16-Catch me if you can 17-Holiday 18-You Think 19-I got a Boy 20-Into the New World Amazing video, thank you!
OMG! This makes me so happy! Girls' Generation is my favorite K-Pop girl group and they were the big reason I got into K-Pop! Thank you for covering their dances.
Wow... Seeing all of those songs go by in succession... Makes you think how long they have been around. From their debut that still had a bit of that 90s sound, to the super poppy and electronic 2000s sound, all the way to their latest release in the middle of 4th gen kpop!!!
SNSD is my all time favorite group so seeing it back in a lot of youtube channels feels my heart with joy ! I also think you should be applauded for doing it with an extra harder step by switching from member to member instead of only covering one member. This is definitely not an easy feat and that's something to be mentioned !
i personally did a full group dance cover of itnw when i was just a beginner in k-pop dance, and till now i still think it’s one of the most tiring songs to dance. the moves by themselves are tiring enough but the song itself was so long and having to do the chorus three times was crazy.. i really admire snsd for debuting with this song AND still be able to sing it live. this was such a fun video to watch!!
This video made me understand better how much Girls' Generation choreographies are really conceived from the global group structure point of view. It's a real genius assembling and there is a reason why their dances are so mesmerizing to watch. It's not the same when it's alone. It's not the case for many groups. A lot of times the dance can be as much interesting to watch on one person.
Hoot isn’t on my top favorites list with kpop songs/GG titles but the concept and the dance was perfect imo, like they went so well together and the whole 60’s style and everything was gorgeous! It’s one of my favorite choreographies to dance to whenever their songs come up on my playlist lol!
I did a solo of "Into the New World" as the final exam for my 12th grade dance class. The dance really has NO downtime - it took me so long to learn and pull off without missing any moves. Some of said moves I find don't flow into one another, which just adds to the difficulty. I found myself muttering the counts under my breath as you danced. I've forgotten 90% of that dance but those counts will be with me on my death bed I swear!
I was so damn sure that it will be CATCH ME IF YOU CAN as the Hardest choreography but INTO THE NEW WORLD? I was shocked but you explained it well, i really thought it was a easy choreo since every Kpop group know that dance
I love the hard work you put in every video. I'm so happy to finally see another dance video, i really enjoyed this series. I'd love to see a (g)idle version in this series if you plan of making one for (g)idle in the future.
Great job! You learn quickly! Also, I like that you had comments and your thoughts added to each dance. -You pulled off Gee really well despite your reservations about dancing in heels. -I completely agree with Mr. Mr. as it was one of my favorite choreographies for their chorus, it's mostly a formational team/duo based choreography for the rest of it which also felt awkward to me whenever I danced to it. -The Boys was hailed as one of their better, more technical and cleaner choreographies with it being their most anticipated comeback at that time. It was one of the first choreographies I ever completely learned for K-Pop and it wasn't until I really danced it cleanly after dancing it so much that I realized I hadn't actually danced it to its complete state having only dancing to it sloppily as I was learning it. It's one of my favorite SNSD choreographies and it's definitely one that will quickly show the skills of a seasoned dancer to an amateur one. -INTW is undisputed for a reason. It's iconic so everyone knows it, and everyone just looks at it and can TELL it's difficult regardless of how skilled you are, purely on the level of energy SNSD performs this choreography on. They debuted with that choreography and promoted it for weeks and never were their performances during that promotional period were lacking bc they were young and newly debuted.
MAH GIRL! Evangeline, once again killing it. Was hoping you'd do SNSD at some point. Also did anyone else get mad Sana from TWICE vibes as Evangeline was practicing Mr Taxi LOL
Bruh we have IDENTICAL minds. I just decided to do this in honor of BP's comeback, finished writing out my weekly schedule to learn each dance in time for their concert, and then I see you post this for GG ! Of course, it's going to take me a LOT longer than you take to learn
Damn you only spent less than one hour to learn all these choreographies 😭 I’m pretty sure it would have taken me DAYS/MONTHS to dance perfectly to even one of their songs 🥹 You’re amazing for real. Honestly I think your dance skills surpassed even some of the trainees on kpop audition shows!
I cant believe she is doing this for educating us and ranking dances, she is so amazing ❤ and she is not even here to brag about how incredibly talented she is! (and these legs are so long haha I noticed in Genie especially. I guess the outfits and choreography were made for that even for GG) 👏👏
Wow you can really dance! Even better it's Girl's Generation so I actually know most of these dances. I wondered at the beginning how hard Hoot would be, I remember Hyoeyeon doing some weird magic dance in that video lol. Great video!
One of my favorite dances of SNSD is Show, Show, Show and Karma Butterfly.. Then I just noticed you didn't include any japanese songs of them. I think you should make a part 2 with only their japanese songs. Thanks.
I think it would be really cool if you did 2NE1 Songs! SNSD And 2NE1 were the top girl groups of 2nd gen kpop and i think it would be really cool if you learn them both.
It would've been cool to see where in the top some of their japanese song's choreos would've been. Like Paparazzi, Love and girls, Bad girl, or Flower power. Also korean songs like Check and Let's talk about love. But it would've been a lot of songs for the video lol.
I hope you can cover their japan release song too. I mean original release. As a fan SNSD for 12 years. Personally their japan song have more complicated dance move like 1. Paparazzi (my fav) 2. Galaxy Supernova 3. Flower Power 4. Bad Girl 5. Love&Girls etc.
Girl u nailed all the dances specially itnw and igab! Hats off to u for learning it!! I woudnt be able to even learn a chorus in 1 day. Keep posting 🍓🍓
Girls Generation is a group that had my attention for Kpop. And the song I listened to was Gee. I started joining Kpop around late December 2018. Also Ploopy is doing so good with her videos these days
I remember the first time I practised Genie for a cover. The process took around 2 weeks because the others were new to dance. But we practised from day 3 onwards with heels, because we realized it was one of those choreographies where the shoes really matter for the final result. The actual performance went really smooth, but we got mad because a group that literally did only hairography, and nothing more, earned first place.
I have no idea why, but I got extremely emotional with your Baby Baby rendition 🥺 I blame it on the bangs, I wasn't expecting them. Amazing job, as usual! Thanks for putting all the effort into learning all their dances, you did awesomely!!
I feel like Japanese songs would be harder to do, because they don't have dance practices... but SNSD had a ton of Japanese tours and/or concerts, so there's probably some fancam out there somewhere for most singles!
I got a boy was the first snsd/kpop choreo i learn back in 2013 ... it took me 1 freakin year to memorize it, like seriously ? And now i can learn a choreo in like 2 or 3 hours, so i'm not surprise about this ranking, snsd was my first love in kpop and still love them, but gosh some of their choreos are strange (when you learn them alone)
Fun fact: the choreography for the chorus of The Boys makes it look like they are forming the letter “G” (the part with the Girls’ Generation make you feel the heat)
ITNW is an incredibly hard dance. I also think it's notable that several of the hardest ranked dances came in during their later years like You Think and Holiday when antis kept saying they should retire.
Could totally see you were in your element with I Got A Boy, it really suited you. Thabks for all the hard work and reminding me of all the great songs SNSD have had over the years!
The more time you spend on the dances they also looked better. I think "easy" dances can look sloppy quickly, making them also pretty hard to do well! So I mean, even though it took longer to learn, there was probably also more attention to the execution of the moves and maybe more enjoyable because there harder? Making them look better ;)
WOW! Thank you so much for your dedication to making this video! It was so fun to watch! SNSD was also the group to get me into kpop back in 2009! To this day, the only kpop dances I’ve learned front to back is Gee and Genie and those took months to learn (I’m terrible at both dancing and picking up choreography!).
I have followed this series on your channel for a long time and I would like to say the growth in dancing skill is tremendous! You were always talented but you dance like a professional now! So satisfying.
A good indicator of taste (and sometimes kpop age 😅) "Girls generation got me into kpop" . This made me realize that while I was a big GG fan as a kid, I really only watched the performances of my favorites a lot, lol. My favs being I got a boy, Gee, Oh!, Genie, run devil run, and The boys,, in that order. I remember trying really hard to get Sunny's (my forever gg bias) parts in I got a boy and Gee but im not that good at choreographed dance. Thank you for doing this! Would love to see you do f(x)!
I would love you or someone to do a f(x) version of this, they had AMAZING choreographies before the 3rd/4th generation came in with stupid difficult choreo lol! After school too >
I know they just debuted, but a group that would be nice to see here are either Purple Kiss or PIXY. But that would be something for the future. Thanks for the nostalgia trip!
The only SNSD dance I can confidently dance the chorus of is Into the new world... usually I self teach myself dances but I went to a class to learn that one giving how many quick moves there were

‘Girls generation is the group that got me into kpop’ is a statement that sooo many kpop fans can say. Congrats to them on their comeback and good job on the video!
you genuinely put your whole heart in it by wearing high heels when snsd did! bravo!!
Jessica passed out while preforming Into the new world two times. The girls were also sweating like crazy so I agree that Into the new world is their hardest dances
And they usually performed only 2 choruses. Holy cow, ITNW is crazy.
It was actually three times, back to back.
Girls Generation got my respect because they had one of the hardest debuts ever, all live, no makeup and with such a hard choreography and yet they had amazing stage presence and energy.
Lmao I just remembered sooyoung also picked this as their most difficult dance last year she was like "when were we supposed to take a break"😂

Yeah, and lasy one, the sync.. even the formation was synced with their height then we always see them dancing in harmony..
Sorry i mean, last one..
It's interesting how some of them look "simple" but are nothing like it, like Kissing you. Great video, I thing GG have great choreographies.
i also didn't expect kissing you and baby baby, even oh to be that difficult. (i'm biased cos i watched and danced oh way too many times)
Mad props to you for not only learning, filming and ranking all these choreos but having a new outfit for each one. And wearing heels whenever snsd did!
