It's not advisable to drain all the water in the tank completely. Draining all the water would make the fish to injure themselves with their spikes. Any injured fish would eventually die from its wound. It better to open the inlet tap as soon as the water if low but still able to cover the fish completely. After a few minutes, you can then stop draining the tank. This is from my experience. When you do that, the death of your fish will be minimal.

I think it will be better to connect a pipe to the outlet and put it in the hole so all the water goes directly outside. It will prevent u from cleaning the place after draining

It is anormal thing, the pond is facing direct to sun.
Why do you limit d depth of the wayer in the pond? Is there any indication?
Cos I usually fill mine near to full
Is not advisable to fill it up, have a limit. Not high, not low
It's actually because when the water level is too high, the fish would be jumping out. It happened to me cos i used to see my fishes on the floor outside tank. Some would have died especially when it happens overnight.
U should reduce the water duration

That means they are not satisfied, feed them well. If u are a stay at home mum, u can be feeding them more than two or three times.
