He’s my second fav character, but honestly in my opinion Jenny has the most interesting storyline b/c you never know what she’s going to do on the show and has a killer fashion sense but Chuck is very funny tho and iconic and his character development is the best on the show

As a traumatised adult from a toxic relationship I am torn between Chuck being bottom tier and also liking him (taking away his terrible terrible qualities), but as someone who was in a toxic relationship, Gossip Girl deffo romanticised this for me and watching it back as an adult I’m just like?! I've been where you are but since all the characters and 99% of the relationships were toxic, Chuck had incredible development with the best arcs and proper storlyines in my eyes, I think it's fine to like him rather than resting. It's a television show and they were the best couple with insane chemistry.

By your own criteria, Rufus also has to be moved to Literal Predator. I'm sorry, I haven't finished watching yet, but you moved William VDW to Literal Predator when you realized that he was sleeping with Ivy, who was more than 20 years younger than he was.
She was also sleeping with Rufus at that time. He had to have been at least 20 years older than her if everything we were told up until that point was true: Scott's birth, Charlie's birth, William and Lily's marriage, everything supports the probability that Rufus was at least 20 years older than Ivy when they were in a sexual relationship together.

Yass I loved your ratings for Jenny and Ivy!! Call me biased, they were my absolute favourite characters, honestly, for me Jenny and Ivy were the most relatable characters for the whole of the show to me, probably because of my personal experiences, but I feel like they really made a massive impact on the show and I’ll always say that. It’s not fair that they are both so heavily villainised and hated, they are literally god tier characters. Honestly, I can’t remember Ivy turning a bit evil towards the end of the show but I do remember her turning cold because of how evil Lily was (omg I hate Lily!! Worst character ever😂) and to be fair I might have done the same thing trying to get my own back on Lily if I was Ivy when they’re at the art gallery and maybe I still have my rose tinted glasses on with her and her original storyline, gosh that was so powerful how she just wanted to be loved, I really feel that pain. They both deserved so much better!! 💝💝xx

Eric was originally meant to be Gossip Girl. The executive producers confirmed it, but they started running out of storyline for him, and he went off to star in revenge. I don't understand why they couldn't bring him back the last couple of episodes. He would have made a lot more sense than Dan.

Trip is actually only 26! I am rewatching GG and in Season 3 episode 8, it is revealed he is 26. It’s still weird to be dating Serena the 19 year old!

Rufus taking Ivy’s side over Lily is so out of character, and they’ve been through so much together throughout the show. Yet managed to solve the problems. But the show just wants them to split so Dan and Serena marriage don’t become incest adjacent. They will always be my Parents tho 😔

I love louie. I’m glad that he stands up for himself at the end because she is constantly cheating on him with Chuck and then also somewhat with Dan and she’s just really rude arrogant. If you don’t want to be with him then let him go that is just so mean and I’m tired of everyone hating on him that’s so evil what she did to him. The poor guy is devastated He really thought that she was he was she was in love with him and she wasn’t and that’s just awful if you’re gonna be with chuck and be with Chuck.

personally I always hated Vanessa but I think its just because of the bad character writing of her I wonder if you ever read the gg books? vanessa in the books is a really cool character, very weird and artsy with shaved head and doestn care what other people think of her. they should have brought more of this into the screen-vanessa. would have been a great contrast to the upper east siders and could have given her real character traids.

I'm only a few minutes in & I was ready to come for you for Vanessa, but honestly, your explanation is pretty on point. Generally you can't find 1 (one) morally neutral even character in that show, so Vanessa isn't the worst and she definitely has some redeeming qualities. I have to add as a plus though, Jessica Szhor portrays her perfectly. The whole cast really is just perfect for their parts!
PS: Girl you've already shipped Nate with 3 different characters like give me a break 😣 Chase Crawford can have chemistry even with a plain, white wall, but I'd love to know what's your OTP regarding Nate. I'm a Serenate girlie all the way!

I think you should have had a concept. Because in the end it wasn't clear if you rank them by how they are as people or how they are as "interesting characters"/"interesting writing". Not the same.
I know people liked Jenny but I could not stand her, all the other characters were at least self aware to how awful they or their actions were but Jenny never was especially to her dad
