6:05 lorde's first album "pure heroine" was actually very stripped back, it influenced and created the minimalist wave of a lot of the music we hear today and the past 7 years.
Watching people enjoy Melodrama for the first time is always such a treat. It's the only album I can think of where every single song has a purpose. There are no fillers or things that could be left out. Sometimes you are feeling in the mood for some songs on the album vs others but it's always worth another listen

@abrarchowdhury well, if we're being honest, I feel like you skipped over the part where I said "I can think of" and read what I wrote as "I think this is the only album like this". But overall, I understood it as a misreading of my comment so I wasn't offended or anything. And I do like album recs.
I get what you mean about not getting the classic lorde "hit" from Perfect Places. It's like you're waiting for a certain light bulb switch to go off. Like the euphoria of an "aha" moment. And it didn't come for me on the song until the ending and lyrics "what the fuck are perfect places anyways?". It's like the perfect ending of the album because it's just like the ending of a house party/night out when you have a lot on your mind. You go out, you have fun but when you start to sober up and remember what you have to return to and deal with you start questioning why you even went out in the first place. Which is why i consider it the true album finisher.

The female vocalist in the Homemade Dynamite Remix is SZA (pronounced sizza). Her 2017 album CTRL is amazing, so beautifully written, amazing lyrics, she has such a unique and interesting voice unlike anything else in the industry right now. I highly recommend listening and reacting!
thank you for sharing your personal connection to liability. i also have an attachment to that song, and i find it so powerful to hear other people connecting to it for completely different reasons.
Lorde actualy said that originally Green Light was meant to be the last track but instead she placed it first to foreshadow her need to find a "green light" and move on. I really recommend listening it at the end of the album at least once as it really puts the album in perspective.
Green light isn't my fav, neither is solar power, but I hope the rest of the album will be like green light was to melodrama. I like perfect places cause it reminds me of hanging out with my friends and looking for awesome random places around our city. I saw Lorde in concert for both her albums and she legit made me cry with liability and some poetry she read. Loveless was awesome in concert to cause everyone was singing along. Can't wait to see her again in Feb for her next tour. I'm lucky I live in New Zealand.

Thank you for always posting reactions and making us happy we all love you! Your vids have a great impact on us and we appreciate it as your viewers/fans/family
Love the reaction! It’s really interesting you say the backing vocals/background vocals sound angry/taunting in “Sober II (Melodrama)” because Lorde said in a podcast that each backing vocal she recorded she was trying to represent a mood/feeling she got from certain lyrics, so in some songs the harmonies were soothing and supportive but in some they were bratty and aggressive, and they all represent different voices in her/our head when we’re thinking about certain things within the album and that’s how she expressed the underlying tones of the songs we don’t even realise, she’s incredible! This is my favourite album of all time so I’m glad you enjoy it!
Its interesting how you said the line from Liability "...one girl standing alone stroking her cheek" (which i think is one of my favorite proses EVER) is really sad. When i first listened to it I thought it was sad too because it evokes a very lonely feeling but now that I am getting older and more sure in myself, I find that line, still sad, but also kind of reassuring. She's alone but also she has never betrayed herself. She will always keep love with relationship she has with herself. No matter how many people will come and go from her life she will always have herself and the people lucky enough for her to let into her life can "walk into the sun" (um Solar Power foreshadowing??) with her but the other will just watch because they lost her chance. It's almost like the song matured with me which is why it will always have a place in my heart and now when I hear it, it reminds me to never allow myself in any sort of relationship with anyone who leads me to think Im a "liability"

Check out SZA's debut album if you haven't already! It is pronounced Sizza too or S Z A like you said!
waiting for KG0516 by Karol G
I feel like the Brits are really repping for the lower registers: Adele, Dua Lipa, Florence Welch (florence & the machines) and Hannah Reid (london grammar) lol
I found it funny that you called Khalid
DJ Khaled. I could just imagine him yelling "we da best music' and "Another one" in the background
I am so clueless honestly hahahaha !! like I don't even really know DJ Khaled anyway !!!
@@FernStone Trust me ya definitely not the first to get them mistaken ☺️
Oh phew 😅😅
i love how you said "DJ Khalid" like HAHAHAHAHA imAgine
I love your commentary and the video in general 😍😍. Quick question- who's in the flag on the Wall? You or some celeb
It’s Lana Del Rey 💕💕 also thank you !
@@FernStone oh my God. I feel embarrassed as a lana fan 😔. I am kind of a new lana fan and I finally listened to her albums after taylor was praising her left and right in 2019 and then called her the most influential artist of the previous decade ( I am a swiftie ) . Since she is in lots of controversies and I personally believe she is not a human, I have actively avoided all the media around her. I have literally never heard her speak 🤗
Hahahah easily done !! Aww amazing I definitely will try Taylor’s music on the future !
@@FernStone yeah check her out on your own time .
@@tantheta2184 I may do a reaction inn future if people want it ! would enjoy it :D
