I had a kebab 3 days in a row this past week. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and am now listening to this on a Tuesday. Oh it's Wednesday now, 6:51 in the morning, I need to go to sleep.
WOW!!! I just tried DMT for the 2nd time while listening to this for the 1st time and it was seriously one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. It left me with tears in my eyes, trying to catch my breathe.... and then "all gates open" (another song I've never heard before) played next and couldn't have been a better follow up-absolutely amazing!!!
I'm interested - how aware of the music were you during the trip? Could you focus on it, or was it 'background', or perhaps it helped direct the journey?
I just heard an interview with Gaz Whelan from the Happy Mondays and he said he'd never heard of Can until some one pointed out the similarity ,he was blown away when he heard them and amazed how they appeared to have got to the same place somehow like them just doing their own thing regardless of what was arround .
Been a Can Fan for nearly 40 years and I NEVER heard this before. Can at their best. Always edgy.. Sometimes uncomfortable, but always enjoyable. Thanks for posting this great track. Mart.
don't think this was "live" as such. Assembled from a recording session. Such a great cd of JP sessions Kind of a history of CAN from Damo through Babaluma and beyond (when things tailed off tho we loved them still). Best band ever
Krautrock is not dead, it just smells funny...(paraphrase on Classic comment on jazz by Frank Zappa...). ;-) Can, Faust and Amon Düül II are my house gods since 1977.
Why this hasn't been re-released with everything else I do not know. Even "Out of Reach" has been remastered and that album isn't a patch on the Peel sessions. I can only assume it has something to do with the recording rights.
Awesome upload man - I last listened to this years ago, where from some strange happenstance, it was in my local library. I think they must have been a little odd there.
For ever Jaki Liebezeit, for his legacy, for his invaluable musical contribution. Hugs to all, from a Brazilian fan!
Extremely good.
I always used to drive around in my car listening to this song ... and every single time was an amazing experience
tarantism I think all music is better when you listen to it while driving around aimlessly.
tarantism are you from the south of Italy?
I've literally got tears in my eyes, This is so fantastic.
Jupp
Wow... me too. I cry when listen this masterpiece of Can!

no no no no no.. they came from the future AND another galaxy!
I was born 10 years later, but will never get enough of this song.

Wow! Just Wow. Loved Can for 40 years, only just heard this track. Fantastic.

There is only two explanations, they came from the future or another galaxy

October 8th, 1974? I'd be less surprised if October 8th, 2974 was cited. Can... eons ahead of time.
Yeahh very ahead of time.
Great now I'm hungry
music with a lot of fantasy... great!
heaven in a Can

Yes!!
Michael Karoli, the most underrated guitarist on the planet
Michael Karoli is great.
metamorphosis67 you'll get no argument from me.
amen
Great style indeed.
metamorphosis67: All of the members of Can were underrated musicians at their chosen instruments.

loved
W i Can!!!! Bellissima traccia!
geniales!
einfach geil
nice nice nice nice nice and nice
The track's title makes me wonder ... Maybe "Can" isn't English, but the Turkish word "Can" which means "Life" ... 🤔
They did a album named ege bamyasi that is a Turkish word

"You must play monotonous!"
"Today I know he was right."
groovy
Dios mío
i dont usually take notice of people who say this or that is ahead of its time. But if this is from 1974 i have to agree
From CAN to Kraftwerk
From Kraut Rock to Techno
The Cold Wave Era

are there two layers of bass? But it's live, could the keyboardist be playing left hand bass as well?
