Irmin alive still and he was the oldest too. i patted him on the back and said "good show" to him when he walked past me in the street after I saw the 'Can Project' in London a couple years back. Jaki unexpectedly died couple months b4 the concert he meant to be drumming at which sucked, and Holger too ill to attend I heard, which indeed he must've been then. It's very difficult to make any judgement on the live shows, even when they exist in recordings. They over blasted the audiences. It was a real treat when they played softly. Holger was often the one to set a mood. Karoli was the composer of the stepwise theme in MOZZER SKY. He was probably the weakest member of the central 4. Malcolm & Damo were important 5th members.

One of the most masterful pieces pieces of editing ever. What Holger Czukay could achieve with a scalpel and some sticky tape is barely believable. Karoli's guitar playing on this still gives me goosebumps after all this time.
MK always claimed he never played solos but most of his playing sounds like soloing to me. Not complaining about his playing of which I am a fan but I always found those anti-soloing comments to be kind of disingenuous.
This was done in separate takes. The transition to each solo is edited literally via cut and paste but done so seamlessly that you'd think that they hired session musicians for one long recording.

I love this Band, Saw them on British and German TV in the early days,I believe British and American Record Company's and Producers were a bit Snooty toward German and other European Progressive Bands in the early 70s, I have all their records and play them regularly,.
I had one single and kind of ignored it but started listening to them and can hear so many bands I think a vinyl buying session is coming on.I can hear all sorts of stuff and sounds that have been copied what masters.

To put it mildly, this sounds like everything I have every liked, from any band. Cool, Hip, Groovy, Hipnotic. I my opinion, most (if not all) of those commercially successful bands from the '60s-'80s couldn't equal this. I would guess Hendricks picked up on Can.
