It's okay for Sally to cry over a bunion but not okay for Hardeep to get upset about those comments about his turban or the talc. Sally has had it in for him since day one. Her thinking kissing his male friends is weird I think she needs to travel more because that's not weird in the middle east. Sally is a very strange fraud I don't buy into her at all.

I agree with you Cloud Strife, he was the funniest housemate to me. I loved him from the moment when he made Dan his first breakfast after having to chug down those feral drink. Hardeep was in the kitchen yelling "Dan, Dan, Dan" while Dan was outside and clearly couldn't hear him Hardeep turned to someone and said "He can't hear me" and then continued to yell "Dan, Dan, Dan" lol I LOVE Hardeep!

@@davelong9055 what you should try to remember is that it's a personal choice to have faith. It's not really clever to put down a faith even if you don't like it. It shouldn't be a problem unless it does start to effect others in a harmful way. His turban did nothing wrong. It's value is part of his faith. If you don't like faith fair play but don't put it down just because you don't have any. Just a thought.
The way they all turned on him and told him how to feel about racism was embarrassing and ignorant. Especially self righteous Ryan who is of mixed heritage but clearly has never experienced any type of covert or overt racism on his life. Hardeep may have been a wind up merchant but the attitudes of every single HM had me feeling so sorry for him. Sally is the very definition of covert racism hence the fake tears. If you think you've offended someone, most people just apologise, not rant about how you "can't say those things about me"...

I honestly think Hardeep is misunderstood. I never saw him as a creep, he might be overdramatic and rude at times but he's also real, honest, and funny. I liked that especially in a show like Big Brother. He deserved to be in the finals.

Personally I think Hardeep is ok. A lot of people calling racebait or obsessed with racism. None of us walk in his shoes and know what his experience of life is. I agree also that if she was trying to say she didn’t know what a turban is called then I would have to call it a blatant lie. You would have to be living under a rock to not know that.
I totally agree, what she did was completely offensive.
Sally and the other housemates are so hypocritical, they’re refusing to be open minded and put themselves in Hardeep’s shoes, but the second Hardeep says something with less seriousness such as his comments about Sally’s bunion, everyone sees the offence in it. I’m white so have never experienced oppression towards me due to my skin tone but I can definitely see how Sally’s ignorant comments could cause offence.
Hardeep is a hypocrite too. A few years ago he was on Question Time and was asked his views on Muslim women wearing headscarves and he said he didn't agree with them having to wear it and there was no need for it. He said all that whilst having that great big pink mattress strapped to his own head.

@@sammiraysmith He actually said that "there was no need" for Muslim women to wear headscarves when in fact it is a required article of faith for a PRACTISING Muslim woman. The Turban is not a required article of the Sikh faith. Any hair covering is sufficient. The specific requirements or articles of Faith in Sikhism are the 5 K's. The Turban isn't one of them.

Take it how you will but Sally was ignorant with her comments. Also, it tells a lot when she cried about being perceived as being racist instead of the fact that she could have potentially hurt not only her fellow housemate but some viewers as well.
Look at the difference between Ryan and Sally’s situation (although they’re birds of a feather). When Ryan was told by BB about the incident, his first concern was “I didn’t do it but if Roxanne felt like I did, I am sorry”...it wasn’t until he sat down and thought about it that he started worrying about how the public would perceive him. I am sure it would have popped into his head immediately but he went and apologised to Roxanne first even if he didn’t have to. Sally went straight into victim mode 🙄
Exactly, she didn't even offer an apology. Which most people do if they offend someone. Not Sally, she immediately said "you can't call me racist and get away with it".... strange comment if you don't want to cause further offence. Fake Sally, fake tears but very real racist
I think the way Roxanne and hardeep reacted made a difference too though, Roxanne said "ow that hurt" which prompted the apology whereas hardeep was confrontational. Whenever anyone upsets him he turns his hurt into anger

You can take a turban off(I know because my friends family wears them all the time lol), but you can't take a bunion off without surgery. He attacked her by pointing out what is regarded as an ugly thing that she has on her body. Being Tan is a compliment , especially in the UK. The Turban thing was a witty joke. The Turban looks cool, it's not a disadvantage. A bunion is considered disgusting though.

Whosoever side you’re on, as soon as the word racist is said, everyone always bands together to condemn the ‘racist’. Hardeep knew exactly what he was doing and the power such a comment would have on Sally and the public’s perception of her. If Sally had said ‘you’re looking too brown today, you should put some talc on to whiten you up’ then yes for gods sake get her out of the house but the point is that didn’t happen. It was a silly hospital role play and she was practically saying ‘we want you to look ill, can we put some talc on you to make you pale’. Because people go Pale when they’re sick Hardeeep!!??. By trying to suggest she was racist was absolutely stupid. Winning isn’t everything but what he’s done is scupper any chance Sally would have had of winning because for some people watching even for her to be associated with the word ‘racist’ is enough to write someone off completely. Sally made a comment that was not in any way intended to be hurtful or racist to Hardeep. Every conversation there was he always had to turn it in to something it wasn't, for example the comment about the food bank. He knew full well the £200 was not going to go to a food bank nor any charity. They were set a task and passed it and was therefore entitled to reap the awards. He was constantly trying to start a debate or confrontation and twisted things. I don't like him whatsoever.

Not impressed with how Jeremy supported Roxanne by judging her apology seemingly sufficient enough to mitigate what she'd done. Or the way he actually said Sally's comments weren't racist and didn't set Hardeep up to explain how indeed it, and the housemates reactions, were biased.

Just like bodybuilding has leaned towards sensation rather than quality/ethics reality TV has learned more towards sensation more than sense....
Honestly now one of my fave celebs. He was truthful and funny and respectful and far cleverer than the other housemates

The accusations against Ryan were terrible. It was awful to see how scared and upset he was when he had done nothing wrong. Therefore, it was despicable of him to lecture Hardeep about his "treatment of women" simply because H pointed out, to charlatan Sally her foot hurt due to the fact she' had a bunion. Low blow, when Ryan, of ALL people, should have known better.

Anybody with half a brain knows the turban is central to Sikh culture & identity. It's just totally unnecessary and impolite to "joke" about it unless you have an established rapport & friendship with somebody where you know the feelings & boundaries.
One of my best friends is a fairly non-observant Hindu, and as we are friends, I can rib him a bit about holy cows, weddings that take 2 weeks, and worshipping rivers because I know he finds it funny not uncomfortable. I'd never dream of saying the same things to a Hindu I barely knew. Similarly, he can take the piss out of my Englishness in a way I find funny but wouldn't if a stranger did it.
The difference is the relationship gives the remarks context - context people, it's not hard to understand!
People who say they don't see the difference either have a disorder, or are lying, or are stupid. I'm usually the first to flare up at a snowflake, but this has got little to do with some people being over sensitive and everything to do with others being wilfully ignorant.

The talcom powder bit was not racism.. if Hardeep was acting in a movie and they made him put talcom powder on his face to make him look ill would he react the same? What sally said about his turban was wrong.. she shouldn’t of said that because it’s his religion. You wouldn’t ask a muslim woman to use her hijab for a play thing. I don't think they truly understand the undercurrent of "gang mentality", that people of color have to endure in the house. Maybe one year it will even out and I can assure you, that will be a season filled with points of view that more people can appreciate. I love BBUK. I live in America. I never watch USA Big Brother because it also, is very slanted without enough diversity in the house to keep me engaged. I watch BBUK because I am a confirmed junkie of British TV. Everyone in the house kept calling Hardeep 'an intelligent man', but i would say intelligent my arse! He tries to portray and obviously think of himself as intelligent, but if he was so intelligent, he wouldn't have constantly antagonised his house mates and get himself put up for eviction, and he even seemed confused why he was up for eviction multiple times despite his antagonistic nature, showing a total lack of awareness, and then he put himself in a worse position by calling false racism. i mean did he not see how much making a false accusation backfired on Roxanne!? Like i say, calculating perhaps, but intelligent? seemingly not.

I think that he is a very intelligent man but he did rub people up the wrong way and he was very difficult to live with. I don't want to come across as a snob but I don't think Sally is as educated or cultured as Hardeep but I don't think she was deliberately nasty or malicious like he was to many of them, he did make some very cutting and patronising comments. I think the problem was that some of them were not on the same intellectual wave length as him and he knew it. He does have a good social conscience but at the end of the day if people didn't go along with what he wanted he would have a tantrum. very hard man to live with full stop

I went to see Sally after watching a TV programme of hers where she appeared to be spot on with everything she said, After going to see her live I left with the impression we'd all been had, she in my opinion was absolutely rubbish. I think with the Hardeep thing she was just worried it may affect the future shows she has planned. When in actual fact if she really felt she wasn't racist and did nothing wrong what had she to worry about?

Hardeep is just a trouble maker. At some point he turned every house mate against him. Sallys no racist, it's clear they didn't get along. Tbh I'm surprised she was able to cope with him for as long as she did. He's manipulative and passive aggressive who cannot take any form of criticism without making himself a victim.

That's true. But she'd earlier said you're too brown, and when he said it's a questionable comment she didn't pause and show any concern or ability to check herself, but laughed in that passive aggressive way and said well I have to wear a white coat when he got upset and left room. Sandwich that between her turban comment (not accepting his no ,and doing that inappropriate laugh) and her antics in bed and diary room saying he started it, is bullying her, and has coloured friends and never done a racist thing in her life, and suddenly the be paler to reflect being sickness isn't so harmless.

Sally’s comments were totally inappropriate and based on ignorance. Hardeep has every right to be upset. It amazes me how in this day and age some people don’t know what the name of “that thing you wear on your head” is called and it is these people who then blame ethnic minorities for not integrating. Sally then amazed me by being offended at Hardeep’s reaction and turning on the waterworks as a defence to try and shut him down and whipping all the others up against him which she was constantly doing throughout the show ... drip feeding poison about him. Not a nice woman at all.
