I do love your video & rug. I especially like your easy magic ring. However, I now only like the rain’s rainbow in the sky. My joy in rainbows has been destroyed.
Lol,my Granny & her Sister In Law(who was also her best friends ever since their teens)never really liked store bought pot holders,casserole/teapot/appliance covers, cooking & cleaning aprons,or placemats & doilies(I remember even seeing them use knitted or crocheted dish cloths,& on almost all of the few hand towels that they had actually bought, they sewed some knitted or crochet material w/buttons on them, along the top side of them, where they formed a flap that u could button down when folded over making a loop that they could hang on a hook or around the oven & other appliance handles for decoration & easy access)..Pretty much any of the other commonly used kitchen & table linens like that, they usually made & would hardly ever buy instead. They always knitted or crocheted them &/or made all of that kind of thing by hand instead,lol..

Love it!! And THANK YOU!!! You are the only person (other than me) that I've seen actually work over the end of the yarn!!! That's how I was taught to both end AND START ends of yarn!! The only end I ever weave in is the final one.
I started working over the ends 45 years ago when I started my first multicolored granny square blanket. There were just TOO many ends to weave/sew in.
@@YARNBARF I was taught to do almost all needlecrafts when I was still in single digits. 😉 Even selling crochet vests when I was 9 (I'm well over 60 now), I'm just amazed when some make more work for themselves than necessary!! I can even hide ends when I knit! 😊
This makes me think I can take about 3 or 4 skeins(it's harder to do but I can braid up to 5 strands)of 1 color of the #4 med.cotton yarn by premier, that I have a lot of already,& try to braid the threads together to make a thicker skein that's closer to a super bulky #6 or 7...B4 I saw this vid.w/that thick flat looking yarn,I was afraid a braid would be too flat, which maybe wouldn't crochet well/look right, but I can see that that yarn is kinda more flat than round, but still comes together beautifully. I'm no longer afraid to try it now..Love,love,love premier yarn,& think your work is just gorgeous! Thank you so much 4 sharing your expertise, talent,& great ideas w/us dear!
Jennifer I think this would be great to do again! I needed Cinnamon Stitches infusion so I am going back in the years to catch up on the ones I missed ;) Hope you had a great vacation and are feeling rested .
I don't have any bulky yarn like that. I reached to my right and grabbed a mandala cake and some white, crocheted together, it's turning into a Giant Back of the Couch Blanket Throw. I will share on Instagram and tag you ☺️👀, when I finish. Thank you for sharing! Peace and Love Always, Lorri 💜💙💚💛🧡❤
I really love this rug pattern, Jennifer. I watched your intro video and the one about you and I really like you a lot!! You’re funny and you know your yarn and crochet!! I think you’re GREAT!! Can’t wait to see your video’s coming this week-see you then!! From Chris*, Zeeland, MI 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
We have a small bathroom, I might make the rug in a medium blue and green. I live with my nephew and I'm not sure if he'd like a bright rug. It looks like a nice rug to put in front of the kitchen sink or the stove for a cook. It looks nice and comfy to stand on. Not like those thin rugs from the stores.
You're a good teacher! Thank you for this video. I definitely will make both hot pads & rugs! Thinking of a "lemon/lime slice" rug in front of my kitchen sink! 🍋
Hi Jennifer, you look great, today! That rug looks so fun! I don't have funds for ordering that yarn, but I have a big bag full of cotton yarn so I will be making this rug. You can place spots of hot glue on the back of it to make it slip resistant.
This is the reason I don't make rugs, slipping. I need one in front of my chair and this will be a good place to test the hot glue idea. Thanks so much for sharing the idea!😁
@@lindastewart4565 I made my mom a pair of granny square slippers years ago and I used hot glue on the bottoms to keep her from sliding around on the floor. I don't even remember where I heard about doing this, but I thought it sounded like a great idea.
Very pretty colors... pattern looks easy so far... and I love working with bulky yarn.... Thanks to you and Premier yarns for coming up with this CÀL project...you are a totally cool lady 💗
To great minds think alike. I saw that and that hot mat for my table. Great rug. The dollar store has the material to sew under that so it won't slip. Or the dollar tree for 1$.
Hi Jennifer! I love this cheerful Premier yarn review/tutorial! Excellent! Keep up the great work! I have to go now and make a rug! Lol..🌸 BTW.. Love the title of this video!😋❤️🌺
I have Persian carpet and rugs all over my house so I shall make the rug your teaching it makes nice gift 🎁 for my grandchildren play room it is color full thank you 🙏 I think I make it full circle ⭕️ it be nice Oh when I mentioned giveaway because I didn’t want you to think I wanted anything that’s all some time I ask lots of questions about the yarn 🧶 you used I do want to shop at the same shops you shop! I can’t ,the costume is expensive is not worth the money 💵 shopping 🛍 over sizes must worth the money. The custom charge is to high is absolutely ridiculously to high I do get tempted and I do shops sometimes it has to worth the money 💴 Oh well. I wish good health for you and your family,
Love the tutorial. Thank you. I used one of the xls to make a pouch that fits my steel bench block for jewelry making. I had planned on using it as a potholder but it fits my steel block perfectly. When I use my block to hammer wire, I place the pouch under my block and it makes for good sound and vibration dampening. I have a second pouch the same size that I was able to get out of the same cake that I do use as a potholder. (The kind you stick your hand inside hence the pouch or pocket). I think the xl would make good placemats, too. If a placemat is too thin, I worry about messing up my table.
Well shucks, quite a bit of this is out of stock.. made 3 color groups... on all 3 at least one is out of stock... and from what I can get after that... oh you know, it's not the same... I'm going to wait, and see if I can get my original. This is a glorious idea though. Now off pause you go... and I'm going to watch the video!
Ok, I am SUCH a total goober today! Ok, so nothing new there, goober every day. I was impatient... so, I paused the video again... and went and called Herrschner's, they are up and shipping again, AND they have the premier cotton XL as well... so now I have a nice big order coming from Herrschners, but it's all Premier yarns. Managed to get it at $6.99, instead of $7.99... plus, I got other yarns as well... woohoo... happy camper AND pretty shawl yarns! :) Oh, and I promise to quit yapping now,, well maybe... I HAVE been cooped up here LMAO... ok ok, I promise to TRY to quit yapping LOLOL
Jennifer, thanks for sharing this tutorial with us. I love it and will have to order some of the Premier Home Cotton XL so I can make it. I love the colors they have on the website and combined with your pattern, these rugs will be perfect! And they can even be made in colors of the seasons!
First of all, you look beautiful today! Keeping it real as always! 😄😉 I want this yarn now. I'd love to buy this yarn but was on strict orders, we both agreed, nothing beside essentials for now. 😜🤦 I appreciate your video tutorials... seeing how this yarn looks and works up as well.
Hi Jennifer, OMG I love this rug! Actually my niece would love it, so thanks to you, I'm going to have to make a bunch of them. I can't get that actual yarn but, I will be using regular cotton (multi) held together. Hugs
Actually, working with this yarn right now. Looked at the color & fiber before ordering but not the weight. Trying to make a toaster cover & hope I can make do!!! Wish me luck!!

I checked the Premier website. No matter how pretty that yarn is, 82 yards for $8 is way more than I can afford (OK, its $6.80 with the 15% coupon). I will just enjoy watching you do it. 🙂🙂🙂
Hi Jennifer!! It is so funny I just ordered some of the XL cotton, not a lot of it but I wanted to try it. I am absolutely going to order more to do a rug, I need a smaller one for my sons bathroom:) Congratulations on all your success with premier. BTW you look so pretty!!!! xoxo
I will be making a shawl by this pattern. I also will be making coasters for the coffee table and the kitchen table. I will send you a picture when I get done.
I really would like to make this rug, it looks great. Your video stopped playing and I’m trying to figure out if something happened? I can watch other videos, just not this one??
Hi, so glad this pattern popped up while just looking how to make a rug. Things being what they are, I'm trying to use up yarn. I have several skeins of Aunt Lydias rug yarn. Will this work? Thanks.
In my RV, forget about carpeting. I have peel-and-stick tile for the floor and I make my own rugs, wall to wall and in sections that can be removed and washed.
Very beautiful rug but the cost of the yarn is a little high. Especially for a rug. Just wondering if I held three Yarns together if this pattern would turn out. If I used acrylic Yarns I would just put a non-slip material underneath the rug. I would love to make the Rainbow rug for my own bathroom. Maybe Premier will bring it on sale LOL I do love Premier Yarns.
Thank you so much! How did you know I need a new bath rug? 😍 I have tons of leftover cotton yarn and am going to use 3 strands together and a big hook. Mine may be a "scrap" rug!
