Thanks for this precious documentary..We love Joe Cooley in the Bay Area California as he brought the music to so many of us BLESSINGS Go Raigh Maigh Agat
Recently bought a C#D box similar to Fiachna's......very similar sound to the old grey's and a fraction of the price. I have seen some of your videos playing the Hohner Corsa, how do you find them compared to the Paolo's ?
kieran mcd The one that Fiachna is playing is my Eb box now and I find it a mighty instrument altogether. A bit lighter than the old grey but the sound is different in a good way as well but doesn't match the Paolo for power. Very sweet all the same.
Very good, I recently got my Hohner tuned with Charlie Harris.....great job indeed!! It would be great to meet for a chat and a few tunes, im based in Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath if your ever passing.....especially with like minded interest in the Hohners. Regards, Kieran.
Brilliant. What is the name of the air tune Christian said Joe Cooley liked before playing it on the whistle? Sounds like they're saying "The Cool", perhaps Irish?
@@dmacseain "GRMA" Thanks, it's a beautiful old tune isn't it. I often find myself humming it or inadvertently playing bits of it on the tin whistle. I really ought to learn it properly.
Exceptional l ! Many Thanks to Tony Mac Mahon who Linked me for ever to irish culture and rare ways of box playing.

Delighted to watch this documentary again, remember seeing it years ago and have been on the look out since!!! A big thank you !!!
Thanks for posting the documentary, it's truly precious to examine Cooley through the eyes of Tony McMahon.
Delighted to see this video🇮🇪✅
Truly wonderful
Two great box players now gone to the great session in the sky. "Show me again how that bit goes, Joe". "You're welcome, Tony"
I played for him and with him for a brief moment in Luke Kellys in Gort many years ago, I suppose his light shone brightly for too short a time.
Awesome.

Love Cooley
It's so tragic that so little of his playing is recorded. There's miles of all kinds of rubbish recorded but only inches of Joe's genius.
