In my opinion, the instrumentation is actually what gives this song a boost. His voice is really good, but with an orchestra on the stage this performance would be brilliant!
Personally the repetition at the end actually fits the song well. Some songs it really doesn’t but this it really does work. It’s just so atmospheric and emotional. I really think this is Belgium’s best chance of winning the whole thing never mind qualifying 🎉🎉🎉
Am i being picky if i feel the ending of continuous repeating is a missed opportunity… Even if the choir in the background was doing it but i feel he should be giving us something different lyrically. 40 seconds of purely just Before The Party’s Over is rather excessive imo🤷♂️
Totally agree... I was really hyped with that ending, but then I kept thinking "please change some lyrics" ... And it didn't. It's really repetitive and uninspired.
The song is very good, at least the 2nd half. But I have to be honest: the affective way how he delivers some of the lines and especially the completely over the top and overly dramatic moves are terrible. It makes him completely unrelatable and distracts a lot from the song. If he does this on stage, I will die from cringe and spend the time in the bathroom until the party's over... Nothing against passion. But this is way too over the top.
I can totally relate to this song and I feel like this music video helps us understand the storyline much better. It feels like an inner battle with how we express ourselves. In his case that’s when he feels free and he can express his gender as he wants to. It looks like he is going insane, but it is actually him trying to break free “before the party is over”.
