Mostly guides and valves are not worn. It worn or scratchy if your oil was not good or tap pets are too tight. If you won't to check the voice of ticking then check out your cam. Valves and guides are not make too much noises. If you don't believe then check out without tap pets and roll it any way if they are too loose in any angle in rotational way then it's faulty and replace them both.
Sir in avl engines specially the tappit valves and cam's worn out very quickly I have talked to many mechanics who said the same thing one mechanic said that the reason of worning out is high tension valve springs and if softer springs are installed this problem is solved but I am not convinced please sir give your solution to this problem I will be personally thankful to you as I have a machismo 500lb and thunderbird 350 AVL I love my bikes and want to keep them all my life .
Dear friend ,i was doing adjustment of tappet in old bullet ,after completed the adjustment, i locked the nut ,but unfortunately bolt get cracked ,now i am going to get new tappet rod ,is any special adjustment at intial stage or in routine normal adjustment
@@khalildar5013 it should be thumb push when you tight the nut. Basically push rod should rotate but not loose or not too much tight. This is skill based. So you will take time but you can do it after few attempts. Good luck.
@@MechAutoClinic AVL/LB 350 thunderbird, I want to change the Tappet Vales as they cracked a bit from the top where the pushrods land on it, can I change them without opening the crankcase and just by opening the head and block? Please guide.
@@subhashs503 nope, I wasn't able to. Fixed the pushrods on the tappet valves somehow, had to open the head to access the rocker arms. The tappet valves don't hold the pushrods that well so I don't revv the engine much and so it works fine. If I revv it hard, the pushrods slip from the tappet valves and again the same process to fix them
@@indraneil8469 yes , figured out cannot take out the valve since it touches the cut slot on the case , even if I remove it somehow , it will definitely damage the guide , also impossible to insert the new valve into the guide
