Bearslayer Trailer

Bearslayer is a role-playing text game based on the Latvian epic poem of the same name. It follows Bearslayer, a Latvian youth blessed with bear ears, through trials, adventures, and copious bear puns. Each story arc of the Latvian epic is converted into an interactive journey where the player can choose a different path than the one that was originally written, and in addition to Bearslayer’s gender being ambiguous, there are no limitations to romantic interactions with any available character.
Depending on their actions and interactions with characters, players will gain points toward different characters and endings throughout the game, and will be locked out of certain paths if they don’t meet the requirements. For example, you can’t expect to marry someone after abandoning them on a boat, and if you kill someone, they can’t be your ally later. The game contains 7 romantic combinations, 13 endings, and over 12,000 words.
