I find nothing wrong with his voice in their music. It fits perfectly in my opinion. I've been obsessed with them for 6 years already and never have I ever questioned their work, simply because this is how they want to express themselves at the time. That's the point in music right?
@@Unadapted Do you have any specific tracks that come to mind? I didn't follow Marc either than the hits. Here is an example of my TH reference, or basically their sound on the '77 lp if unfamiliar: : ua-cam.com/video/309nxWETN3c/v-deo.html
I saw this comment on walking on a dream by empire of the sun: "this song for what ever reason makes me feel the nostalgia of growing up" this song does it too.
I would definitely say their s/t is one of my favorite albums of all time. I couldn't even tell you why, other than the fact that it is a perfect album.
@ Exacto!! algo así yo también recuerdo, un anuncio de carros. Estaba muy pequeña, por ahí del año 2008-2009 pero si lo tengo en mi mente...¡Que acertación tan chevere!!
I really enjoy this entire album. At first I felt the same way, he sounds like David Byrne. Their music is a bit distinctive though, so I eventually got over it. They have a very good sense of melody.
Seguro la sacaste de comercial de la Escape, bueno, cuando menos ya son mas conocidos por aca, a ver si vienen, The Skin of mY Yellow Country Teeh, otra gran rola de Clap
Lyrics, great song: I heard it from a friend The Revolution never happened Sigh A little die No more a child Goodbye No where's the woolen sweater You mentioned in the letter? Imply The other guy And scandalize the lion
Oh such music snobs come on (LOL), This band did EVERYTHING themselves. Writing, recording. producing, promoting, booking gigs, I mean everything. They are so different they're a breath of fresh air!! Go CYHSY.. And they're absolutely ginormous in Europe!!
so like the last bit were he throws paint and breaks everything i had a scene of rambo on and it had all this gun fire and explosions and fit freaking perfectly , bout time im the new sound mixer for them
This video and the band amazes me. Despite what others are saying/thinking about them, they have talent and this song is awesome. Vocals are great compared to some. That is what music is... differing sounds and rhythms. And, no... nothing like the Killers, who rock, but, still just as good.
I was kinda freaked first time I heard the vocals but its a little refreshing it gets tiring hearing the same old thing, and it has David Bowie, you cant go wrong with David Bowie.(Love labyrinth!) :]
oh wow... until the other day i thought i hated this band. suddenly, i'm entirely mesmerised by the vocals. weird... i guess they subconsciously grew on me.
The singer obviously loves David Byrne. It's a totally understandable confusion if you're not the president of their fan clubs. Love both their voices though.
Had this song set as my alarm on my iPod in high school. That beginning instrumental would always bring me out of a dream
This song....the lyrics...so true when you get older
.. remember jamming this like end of 05 around Christmas..was 17

Perfectly said.
His voice is big time evoking David from Talking Heads. If you like this, you'll love TH.

a really good singer from the 70's, still releases new stuff today.
I really enjoy this entire album. At first I felt the same way, he sounds like David Byrne. Their music is a bit distinctive though, so I eventually got over it. They have a very good sense of melody.
Lol! Whoever said talking heads. You're on point. Glad to see someone else noticed.
Ludicrous that this video is 16 yrs old. I was 40 and still young. Loved this band.
I haven't hard this song in FOREVER. This rarely happens, but when it does, well, it's the best.
I had to watch the video to this song tonight. I can relate to it now more than ever before.

The video is so cool !
best singer ever
I think there's a distinct David Byrne sound in his voice - and the cadence of Thom.
Is the best CYHSY track? Just love it!
Clap Your Hands And Say Yeah is damn right!!! Enjoy Yourselves
Awesome.

He sounds like the lovechild of Tom Kenny and David Byrne.

This song remains me so, SO much to the Talking Heads...but i dont know why!
LoL
Ok, love the song. I can't always understnad what he is saying, but still enjoy it. I don't understnad the video though. Is it about OCD's maybe?
Thank you SuperEd.

wow you are so misunderstoood...*tear*
Yeah! *Claps*. Trippy vid.
I don't know, he doesn't have that sort of spoken-word, nervous energy sound, but he does have that sort of stylistic slurring of words.
they fuckin kick ass. They have a early 80's sound so all you youngsters who are knock'n them wouldn't really get it cuz you weren't born yet.
This song is totally vibe. Oh yeah.
esta cancion esta de poca madre
es buenisima that great
9 years
awww this is so cute. there's a ghost who is in love with him
Sounds good to me!
He sounds more like David Byrne from the Talking Heads than Thom Yorke.
Like it. Cross between Rufus Wainwright and David Byrne to me.
My favorite song by them.
