Aprilia Tuono all day baby!
I don't understand your comment you said in your video that the aprilia was way too costly of a motorcycle to maintain
starrider1900 It is more expensive to maintain but that doesn't mean this motorcycle isn't awesome. I'm just cheap but if I ever get a euro bike I'd probably get an Aprilia Tuono.
+CycleCruza right on you can bet your ass on that aprilia if you ever get the chance and ride one you'll see what the fuss is all about
CycleCruza you should get a GSX-S1000 ABS on a deal for $4k off @ $7K then customize it for $4k (BAZZAZ Unit, TwoBros Exhaust, Air Filter, Nitron Shock, Fork Kit, M7RR Tires, Brake Pads & Lines, Levers, High Viz powder coat the wheels, change the Mirrors...) then you will have a bike better the the FZ10 and on par with the Tuono for less money because you love to save money whenever u can.
the engine note alone is enough to make me lust after this bike. it helps that they made the front fairing less ugly too
still not a attractive fairings
+bananamanstrikesback XD I wasn't saying it was, just less ugly than before haha
Yea Mike your wording was exactly right "less ugly" works.
Check out the Tuono '17 Akrapoviç vs stock sound:

@02:00, Adam why is the rider closing the throttle whilst quick shifting?
+jerryx2000 Nice catch - actually that particular clip/launch is of the non-quickshifter-enabled KTM. Our mistake in the edit. Good catch.
I once had the Superduke and, after a couple of other motorbikes, I now own the Tuono. You are spot on. The Tuono is the best naked bike on the market hands down. Only thing is I would also give the Superduke engine a 10 in both performances and character.
Ready to buy another Aprilia this coming season, this will be the bike. Great honest review. This Adam guy always has stellar reviews. Cheers.
Yea times two on Adam.
Thanks for the props! Have you seen some of my latest work? Adam
Thanks again! I appreciate the feedback.
Adam Waheed Indeed! Cheers!
Where is the BMW S1000R?.... Also it would be nice to have the format of having all the bikes in one video back to back not a different video for each bike
+JoeGo101 This Streetfighter Shootout is a bracket-style tournament. The BMW S1000R didn't make it past the last round. Find out why here >>> www.motorcycle-usa.com/2014/06/article/2014-four-cylinder-streetfighter-shootout/
+Adam Waheed So having the Suzuki in this shoutout makes it a better bike than the S1000R according to you ?
+cedric070 BMW s1000 r is faster and lighter - Better to live with daily (more comfortable) - generates more power over more of the rev range - noticeably cheaper (where i live) - better looking (subjective but atleast they did more than aprilla to differentiate the models). Some good metrics you have there to objectively determine which bike is better.
***** I know right LOL :D
+JoeGo101 You don't know how to make money off of UA-cam videos lol :P
this bike is bad ass! i have an older aprilia and i love it and what a deal! you can get a factory for $1500 more with ohlins all around! no brainier! 16,900$ sweet deal! getting one this year!
Great job guys!!!!!!!! Thank you
That's the Superduke at 1:57 face cam, not Tuono lol. Also noticed the clutch ball end is nonexistant as well. Did you guys have a wee off?
+malse Good catch on the rider cam. My fault! Just making sure you guys are paying attention...
+malse Nice catch - you are really paying attention! What city/state/country do you live in BTW, if it is not asking too much? Adam
+Adam Waheed Christchurch NZ! :)
Sweet man - never been there before - hope to visit one day! Adam
Getting old but I still love riding. Current bike is 2014 BMW S1000rr.
It feels like a supercharged Cadillac. love it but ready to go upright a bit. Experienced none brand faithful comments are greatly appreciated by Tuno owers. Thx.
I looooooove this bike..
Exactly, why buy a ducati when all you buy is the name. Get a Tuono, save some dough.
Incredible machine and that wasn't even the Factory version with the full Ohlins Package!!!!
True but the Ohlins is more oriented to the track. While the Ohlins kit definitely gives you more feel, the single-rubber forks do not take kindly to botched wheelies or very rough/dusty roads. I have a RF and had a Factory, and you can expect to put seals in the forks probably twice as often for this reason. This is the price you pay for top-end track oriented stuff... high end racing teams do very little to the Aprilia-spec Ohlins forks because they are so good right out of the factory for racing.
Ohlins needs way more servicing to keep it consistent. Really don't feel the difference!
Great bike but is it a naked or semi faired bike. Not sure if it's the same category
So not worth getting the factory with the ohlins suspension then?
Ok so I briefly read your four cylinder street fighter shootout. I'm not sure I understand what exactly I missed here. These bikes in this test are 4 cylinder and twin cylinder. So obviously this isn' based on that. What's more confusing is that you chose the KTM "Bike of the Year" , yet it came in second place in this test. And what do you mean by this test being a "bracket-style tournament"?
I'm anxious to see how the new FZ10 stacks up(MT10)
I wonder how the Aprilia stacks up against the 2016 Triumph Speed Triple R since I went to check one out today. They seem to be in the same price range too.
I assume it does better, based on the numbers.
The 2016 Triumph Speed Triple R is excellent. But the Tuono is the best.
Do you have to reset the bike every time you start the bike or does it remember?
I'd like to see a shoot out between the new 2016 kawasaki ninja 1000 vs the 2016 suzuki gsx-s1000f. think that's a possibility?
+Christopher Mott That would be a neat test for sure, and I would love to find out which is better between the two but I don't have any plans to undertake that this year.
+Adam Waheed that's a damn shame! lol
its behind on looks though. They should do something about it...
superduke on the other hand is almost flawless looking for what it is.
why didn't you use the factory model ? there's a big difference between the rr with ( sachs) and factory with (Ohlins) suspension
Still plastic expanding gas tanks?
if bmw s1000r included in those bunch, which place it would be ?
+Hakim Asyraf Find out how it would rank here >>> www.motorcycle-usa.com/2014/06/article/2014-four-cylinder-streetfighter-shootout/
Not a true naked bike, Different handle bars & fairing ? KTM is a true naked bike from the ground up and clear winner !
I'm sure it's a fantastic bike ...but the class of naked bike gets me look at the size of the fairing
What is the questionable fuel economy? Average distance on a tank?
Do you really buy hardcore superbikes for fuel milage? *shakes head* Well, if you do, you can go about 240km on a tank if you are slightly judicious with the throttle. But that kinda defeats the purpose of the bike.
whats the price on these ??
does it have a steering damper?
+D The Barber Yes, Sachs steering damper, or optional, Öhlins steering damper
Where is the S1000R?
+Alex Leung The S1000R was featured in our previous shootout. Find out why it wasn't in this test here >>> www.motorcycle-usa.com/2014/06/article/2014-four-cylinder-streetfighter-shootout/
I really dont like the tuonos look.
It's just a full fairing with a bit of the windscreen chopped of. Absolutely nothing naked about it.
I have a supersport myself and i like her look but the tuono just looks half-assed.
the best naked just got better!
Problem is, if that race bike feel is what you want, why not just get the RSV4 instead?
+Alan Wang RSV4RR/RF is meant for racers. Tuono is more for the street.
because my back is destroyed
Hmm , There's a problem with your scorecard no way is the Tuono that much better than the Superduke.
+Darrell N Oh yes it is! read it and weep! lol
first off see if you find a bad review on it second ride one and you'll understand
+fatdrood ^^
Yea like the HP score? The truth is neither one would disappoint anyone, but I'm still leaning to the Tuono
The Tuono has another couple thousand RPM usable. For that reason, it is geared to put down more torque than the SD at the wheel - but it also lends more flexibility to the engine.
We need the new yamaha MT-10 vs the top supernakeds of the market: tuono 1100, bmw s1000r and superduke. basically a naked R1 so it should be interesting
+iTxip MT-10 is not really a naked R1.
Same crossplane 1000cc engine minus the titanium and lightweight stuff, same chassis, high bars & no wind protection sounds like a naked R1 to me.
MT-10 its to the R1 the same as the tuono is to the rsv4.
maybe you were thinking mt-01???
+iTxip the mt10 is tweaked so much that its not even near the r1. everything is different watch the reviews
The MT-10 isn't in this league. It's missing lean-angle aware traction control, 9MP ABS, Brembo brakes, about 15hp or more, has no quick shifter or wheelie control, and looks like a dog's arse. It's outclassed.
This bike sounds Bad-Ass.
+Harkamal Singh Its jsut to epic for words.
guess we have to wait till next year for Ducati to get a liter competitor out :(
+KelvinSmoke there's a new monster coming in 2016 I think, "Monster 1200 R".
Not sure why they kept the S1000R out of this tho...
+KelvinSmoke Lol they do have one, the Ducati Monster 1200R.
+pxKfatmaN The S1000R didn't make it to the next level of the test. Find out more here >>> www.motorcycle-usa.com/2014/06/article/2014-four-cylinder-streetfighter-shootout/
this link is for the 2014 shootout, not this one
+pxKfatmaN no change for 2015 = no need to test ;o|
Strange fact: if you compare the performance sheet vs the rider subjective impressions sheet you will see some major inconsistencies all the way. Based on the performance sheet suzuki would get the highest score but on the driver impresion I see a lot of bias towards Aprilia. This is not to say that Tuono is not a fantastic bike.
For instance on braking KTM scores the lowest on the facts sheet but the highest on the rider impression.
In torque Duke has the highest number but lacks in character or power in rider impression...how's that?
It's obvious the whole driver impression sheet is a copy of the final point "Bike of choice" with some minor changes in the areas where one of the bike features really stands out. too bad!
Engine torque and wheel torque are two different things. This is why bikes like the Hayabusa and 1199 do not just run away from everything else, gearing plays a big part in how much thrust the motor can generate to the ground. A bike with 40% more rev range but 30% less torque (say, the S1000RR or RSV4 vs. 1299S) making the same power can be geared up a corresponding 40% at the wheel to provide the same road speed but higher torque to the ground. There is more to know about bikes than just engine specs - always.
THis just doesn't look like a streetfighter compared to the other bikes. I mean shit Aprilia, take notes from KTM and Suzuki and then make this bike have a streetfighter look.
T is GREAT bike! But comfort? NO. KTM. I have owned 3 super dukes--and currently a 1290. Also owned one Tuono 1000--and ridden a T 1100. I am getting past track-weapon as street bike and want the option of riding it lots--in a relaxed manner until I crack it open. The KTM--especially with Rottweiler box Akra full-system and a tune STOMPS right off from 3000-RPMs. Easily accessible street thrills.
But yeah--The T WILL RULE on track or technical twisty road. It sounds are the best in motorcycling. It IS a lot better than the old 1000. And it would be tough to pass on it at a relative bargain price (My KTM dealer just automatically hacks $1200 off list for me--helping somewhat).
Ride them both and decide. Heck--I'd like to OWN them both. And maybe I will--because Aprillia marks down so aggressively year-old new stock--it may be THE bargain in of all motorcycling by next spring. And THEN you killed on depreciation if you have one to sell against the new-old stock..
+Tom Traynor The nice thing about the Tuono is the options you have in the aftermarket to make it more comfortable/streetable. Aprilia Mana Bar Risers (1" up & 1" back), AF1 1" peg lowerers (and/or Sato lowering rearsets on the 1000), an MRA or Aprilia touring screen and a 15T sprocket on the 1000. Congrats your Tuono is ergonomically 90% as comfortable as a 1290 Super Duke...with a better stock seat, better wind management, due it not being a 'true' naked, and a windscreen. Sounds a lot like my sport touring FZ1, man... I love the Super Duke, but not being able to put a windscreen on without getting head shake, when I do 400 mile 1 day rides kinda rules it out for me. (Super Duke GT looks all kinds of awesome, other than looks, though.)
What the fucks a 'Twarno'?
Nicest guy but his accent is bugging me!
lol what accent?
This one is called naked bike? Why is it so ugly?
Naked bike ??
