Damn Dino Shiki got some point. Without evil we can never appreciate, well distinguish more like, good. Without hunger the concept of food and cooking wouldn't exist, just like Deinos and their shitload of maize. They are neither needed nor wanted. It was just a matter of fact that they are edible. A deino can go their entire lifetime without ever knowing what corn even taste like, and it would be the morally correct, most efficient way of life. Without conflict we can't appreciate peace. Just like the Deinos 66 million years of peace. Just like Tepeu said, you can't really call it peace when literally nothing happens. Whether they exist or not, it makes no difference to the planet, nor to Malla, nor to ORT, not even to themselves. It's the perfect form of peaceful oblivion, free from pain and full of happiness. This LB demonstrated that the perfect happiness and ideal life we as human beings have been desperately looking for is practically just nonexistence. And I do agree with this nihilistic take. A life full of pain is suffering, and a life full of happiness and devoid of pain is meaningless. Take that as you may. I myself see this that the only salvation to humanity is indeed oblivion, be it by robbing them from every impulse of a living being like the Deinos, or by actual extinction. You might argue otherwise that the point of showing that life is meaningless with or without pain is because there is meaning to be found independent of whether there is pain or not. If so then what are those meanings? How can you know that those meanings are correct? Are those meanings worth a lifetime of pain and happiness, and is objectively better than just not being born at all?
Interesting thing is that actual shiki tohno's philosophy is also quite similar to the priciples of tepeu i.e to live their life with their full capabilities, do mistakes, learn new things, grow as a human being, create something new. The meaning of life has always been to live and strive to find happiness through the misery. We are all different, flawed people, and by our own nature conflict may never end But striving to end suffering is a beautiful meaning on itself, as such is trying to live even through the suffering.
