well i got a moog subphatty since 2013 and i am really happy with it ,now i will get the arp odyssey soon as possible .i think it will be a great match and i will double the fun...
I have this synth with korg sq-1 and it is awesome! I am more than happy with my purchase! It really is fun and the sonic possibilities are really endless.
I bought the Korg ARP Odyssey after I played it in the music store for 6 months. I got the Moog Sub37 first then every time I saved up the money for the ARP something came up but I got it in January and flung it into my #Jamuary jams straight away. I love it. It compliments my Moog perfectly
Cool vid, Bill. I don't own one but I do appreciate it. It's a synth that has a really unique character and feature set. The only bug I have are the slim, mid size keys. I have no problem with mini keys and full size keys are fine but the in between is awkward for me but.. I'd still love to have one.
Hey Matt! Thanks for watching. You and many others have talked about the mini-keys being a deterrent. While I understand the general gripe, this machine is too good and too much fun to quibble about the mini-keys, especially since we all know we'll be playing it through a Beatstep or other full-sized controller for anything slightly important... haha! I will go as far as to say that people who are drooling over getting an ARP 2600 should look at this as the 1/20th of the price (basically) alternative. The oscillators are pretty much the same, there's just one less - and it doesn't have a spring reverb or sequencer. But other than that, you can make most any sound the 2600 makes, at a fraction of the cost!
Bill Vincent Good points about the 2600 comparison. And as mini-keys go, I don't actually mind mini-keys. My first synth, the MicroKorg had mini keys and I got around on them just fine. My Reface keyboards have mini-keys. I don't mind those either but this new Odyssey has those in between, mid-sized keys like on the Minilogue and MS-20 remake, right? It's that size in between that I had trouble with (owned a Minilogue for a while) but it wouldn't put me off from owning one. I'd just have to get used to it.
Matt Greer Music I got the module. Plug in your favourite midi keyboard or run it as a module with a sequencer. Best of both worlds, this synth is really worth the time and money.
The mini-key version is what I have - they have a full size version now too. I haven't had problems yet with dusty sliders or tuning issues, but it stays in my studio, I'm not using it for gigs.
I'm glad you are having that experience.
When I bought my original Whiteface in 1972 I didn't come out of my room for 3 weeks.
I'm still loving it!
Got mine early last year, still LOVE this synth. It's so good. Seems simple but there's so much inside that comes out. A true synth.
I have not played the Korg Odyssey, but I love my M 50. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the review! I agree. these sorts of perspective are needed in the gear world.

Great synth! Fat Analog device. The resonance has a wonderfully unique character!
Thank you for this ..
oh I am getting one along with MS20
Does it seem durable? I head the sliders on the old ones would get dusty. How about any tuning issues?

Nice video - tx !
