Yellow is a beautiful color in you! Thanks for your detailed videos. Love them!
I'm obsessed with sunscreen 🙋🏽♀️ thank you for using different colored skin tones 👍🏽👍🏽
Oh my, your skin is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
Ayeeeee thank you for having me on your channel!!! ❤️❤️❤️🙌🏿🙌🏿
Yaaaasss two of my faves!!
@@ThatCho ❤️❤️❤️
Yasss!!!
Thank you for this review and for showing it in various skin tones- it is very much appreciated!!
Great review, loved that you got other opinions. Unseen is my favorite sunscreen, I love the texture and how it looks. However I’m excited to try this out!
Loved the collaboration!!!
Supergoop recently launched here in Canada so I am really happy for this review. Thank you ❤
Normally I like to skip intros on review videos like this (I'm impatient lol) but I really enjoyed your intro and loved the info you gave! Thank you for your review, it was very helpful 😊💕
Sunscreen is my favorite skincare. Recently my skin became very sensitive to sunscreen due to tretinoin and winter dryness. Paula's Choice Skin Recovery spf 30 mineral sunscreen has helped enormously. My skin is tan and this sunscreen blends in well. Another favorite is DRMTLGY spf 46 tinted which blends into not cast at all..
I'm definitely going to buy this screen, because of you. The Paula's Choice Essential Glow is my go-to, because it's tinted. But I think I'll try this! Thank you so much!
COME THROUGH SKINNNN!!😍😍😍✨✨✨Thanks for the video Doctor Alexis! You're officially my FAV✨
I can’t wait to pick this up. Thanks for sharing this information
Welcome! Thanks for watching☺️
Oh, Dr. Alexis, I love you and Supergoop! This sunscreen is amazing. I am a light skin AA. I don’t get the white cast as you mentioned lighter complexions may not. I have dry skin I have to apply moisturizer multiple times per day. I love the texture of this sunscreen, it feels dewey and soft and helps with my dry skin, so I apply it multiple times per day, which is great because often that’s an issue too, so I kill 2 birds with one stone. (I don’t really kill birds) I’m so glad this sunscreen is not tinted. Tinted sunscreens, like foundation (which I don’t wear) sometimes rub off on your clothes and for me that was the downside with using Colorscience, I loved everything about it but the tint, but now I have Supergoop. Thank you for being a wonderful, ethical source of information for our community.
Thank you for this, it can be frustrating looking for a sunscreen that is affordable, don't leave a white cast and that doesn't cause breakouts on acne prone skin, I took a break from sunscreens for that reason but I will get back to it soon.
Thank you so much Dr Alexis! You da best 👍🏽😀! This came in super helpful, was on a search for a good mineral sunscreen for my sister in-law! I am definitely going to try this sunscreen, I already use their “Unseen” and it’s been my go to for some time!
Thank you for the channel recommendation! I was just looking to restock on sunscreens and didn’t know what to get!
Thank you for your knowledge 🙌🏼 I love watching different skincare channels and learning from all, I never knew blue light actually went deep at all! 😅
Thanks to you and the information you have blessed is with on your channel I too have become a SuperGoop fan.♥️🙋🏽♀️Also I was going to ask about the powder retouch up brand that you spoke of in a previous video, but you mentioned it here. That’s what I’m talking about💯👌🏽Thanks again Dr. Stephens. You are appreciated♥️👑😘
This is good info! I'm willing to give it a try as most other sunscreens "tingle", burn or itch my face!
hi. did you get it? how does it feel?
I usually have the same problem. The mineral sheer sunscreen doesn’t burn
Same here it’s annoying
I am new to your channel. I really appreciate the fact that you put so much thought into this video by asking women of various shades to try the product out. Kudos to you!
Hey Dr. Alexis thanks for all the great content on skin of color! Would you consider doing something for us athletes who have to shower multiple times and how to best keep of skin barrier from easily breaking down?
The yellow looks radiant on you, great choice, Dr. Stephens.
your voice is so soothing ☺️
Dr. ALEXIS, You are so stunning!! ❤️
Love this!!! 💕💕💕 thank you for debunking the myth that people of color don’t need sunscreen!!
Thank you SO MUCH! Going to get me some NOW!
Love the Yellow!!
Thank you!
Ooh thank you!! Another good one (for anyone looking!) is THRIVE Natural Moisturizing Mineral Face Sunscreen SPF 30. On me, it leaves virtually no white cast! I am 445 in Fenty foundation and shade 360 in Maybelline Superstay Foundation
Great information and you are so stunning!!
Very nice video. I'm always excited to see improvement on sunscreen. My teen son has a beautiful dark skin tone. It has been a challenge to find sunscreen that doesn't give him a white cast.
Thanks for the update 😁
Thanks for the helpful tips doctor. I used some inkey list products and my skin feel so much better. Sometimes, we can care for other and forget ourself thanks again for helpful tip.
To me, the initial white cast lets you know that you hit all the places on your face. So before it fades, you'll know that you covered everywhere.
That makes sense.👍🏼
Except some don't fade 😒
@@nancykerrigan Right
Good point!
Right. I don’t mind the cast. I just need it to work
I love their products so definitely getting this
Supergoop also has CC creams now for multiple shades!! Finally!! Can you review how those look on darker skin tones?
Thank you so much for all these skincare videos. I've been trying to get my skin in check and you vids are every helpful, especially this one.
Great video! Would you recommend this for someone trying to get rid of hyperpigmentation? Or should they use Elta MD for hyperpigmentation?
Hey Doc! Thanks for this video. I have sensitive , oily acne prone skin. Would you recommend their Matte version from Supergoop? And could I wear it as a primer also? Summers in the South are real!! Thank you 😊
Yeah!!! I'm always on the hunt for good mineral sunscreens too, going to give this one a shot. Thank you for the review and recommendation!
Welcome❤️
Hi, did you try it? :)
I bought everything you suggested for hyperpigmentation ( I have oily sensitive skin) even sunscreen, but my skin gets darker on my face like it’s been burned by the products,I made an appointment with you this month so hopefully you can help!live your videos!!
What sunscreen you use sis?? I got oily skin as well… just got into sunscreens I have only used color science but it leaves my beard n face straight brownish so It’s on to the next
I love the yellow today ☀️🌟
YAY!! I’ve been using this sunscreen for almost a year! So glad I’m doing something right lol
Awesome ! Quick question: Does the sunscreen last for a long time ? Just curious before I buy it lol
@@breanna4930 i think so ! I love it if I know I’m going to be in the sun for more than a couple of hours I take it with me for reapplication ! You’ll love it
Hi Dr. Alexis, thank you for this awesome video! I have been on the hunt for a good mineral sun screen that won’t break me out. I have extremely sensitive acne prone skin and I have went through so much trial and error. I found a good one from Purito centella but unfortunately with the whole controversy they have removed it off their website. Would you know if this works for sensitive skin? I am on the website but I don’t see any reviews😕
The Australian Made Ultraviolet mineral sunscreen is amazing, you should try it. I have dark brown skin and it doesn't leave a cast 😁
Thank you for this in-depth video. I noticed you did not mention your opinion on the following ingredients: Avobenzone, Homosalate, Octisalate, Octocrylene, or Oxybenzone. My new facial and body sunscreens have those ingredients. I reviewed your previous video 'the best sunscreen for darker skin' before this comment. I am in the process of changing both my facial and body sunscreens and I appreciate your opinion. Thank you.
She's talked about the specific chemical contents in a different sunscreen video
Thank you! I bought the cerave am sunscreen and it kind of peels and moves around a lot. I like that it’s matte but it’s weird to apply. Gotta give supergoop a try!
Thank you! I'll give it a try... ......btw, yellow looks amazing on you
Question: could you please review mosturizer without silicones and pros and cons of silicones in moisturizers ?
Hello, thank you for making these videos. I have tried both supergoop and etaMD. I seem to have a sensitivity to both. I had a reaction with both during a trail. What sunscreen would you recommend for someone with very sensitive skin trying to improve hyperpigmentation?
I have a very sensitive skin and get this rash, almost like a sand paper look and feel and I use Dr. G now and my skin never broke out. It's the green and white tube SPF 50+ and P++++
Love this video because I was just looking for a moisturizer other than Cerave thanks for sharing.
I just noticed that your office is 5 minutes away from me, after this pandemic I will make an appointment to see you.
I love SuperGoop Unseen Sunscreen so I will try this once I finish this bottle.
Could you do a vid on sunscreens that won't dry you out, if you're one of those people where absolutely all sunscreens dry you out? Thank you! 💖
I don't want to make this sound weird or creepy. But you are so gorgeous! Your skin is so clear & glowy as well (super jealous)! And I love how sweet and comforting your voice is! (:
This is good news hopefully for me. My face and neck has reacted terribly to both Pippette and Versed mineral sunscreens. Crazy right?? It must be a common thread in the inactive ingredients. What are your thoughts on the Inactive ingredients in SuperGoop?
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You have any suggestions on back acne that itches and clearing up the spots? I love having my back out and this recent breakout got me in my feelings. I look forward to your response
Truly one of my fave on UA-cam. I can't thank you enough.
I have a lighter skin tone, so I guess I'm gonna try this out. Thanks Dr. Stephens!
Welcome! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this review, i was curious about this product. I think im going to stick with their Matte screen sunscreen and my 2 primers and powder. That's the only combination I've found that keeps my face from looking super oily at the end of the day.🤦🏿♀️
What primers do you use?
I'm so late to your videos, but last month I went on a cruise and got sun poisoning or severe sunburn that my face swell up and my scalp hurt I Couldn't even brush my hair. I've been on a search for sunscreen that doesn't cast badly, isn't icky feeling on my skin and works with my ingrown hair scars. Your videos give me hope. I'm glad I came across your videos.
I love super goop but wasn’t sure about trying the mineral sheer out of fear of it leaving a white cast but now I’m definitely trying! I love black girl sunscreen but it’s not mineral as that’s also what I prefer
Hi, does it look nice? Many thanks
Hi Dr Alexis! 👋 love your videos. Since watching them my skin has improved so much. Can you tell me your thoughts on the Australian gold spf bb creams? My sister and I really like them but I want to make sure they are good for our skin. Thank you so much!
Thank you Dr Alexis for this video.
I'm a dark skin woman ( not very dark). I tried this sunscreen, my face was literally white I couldn't go out. If you have dark skin please be aware of that before to buy the sunscreen.
What a lie. The unseen sunscreen is clear 😂
@@BsarahkristyAunty the sunscreen in this video is the mineral sheer sunscreen not unseen. Just loud and wrong!
Supergoop is so bomb! There is no color applying it and no color afterwards, and when it dries on the face, it feels like a sheer soft feeling. I can’t even describe it. But yeah it feels smooth on the skin and dries immediately.
Hi, which one? Also this mineral one from supeegoop? Many thanks
Where did u get ? Answer pls
Hey Doc-I’m a shade darker than you with dry skin and LOVE Supergoop Sunscreen. It’s the best!
I’m a guy and I love layering their matte screen and glow screen together
This new technology for blue light that doesn’t require a tint is such a HUGE deal bc the tints are usually very pasty/odd. I will def. Pick this up! Thank you, Doctor!
I'm not too sure about the clover extract and the purported benefit for blue light protection, though. Iron oxides have been tested clinically on real human skin, this botanical extract hasn't. It's quite premature for a doctor to endorse such a sparsely tested ingredient tbh.
@@benjaminnhlam2867
Oh man... I really was going to switch over. I think I will wait and see if testing gets done.
Thanks
@@SwtLvlyLucy169 to be fair, good and consistent use of sunscreen, regardless of the types, is still a lot better for hyperpigmentation than no sunscreen! So if you try this spf out and feel that it works well with your skin, that will still be so much better than if you have a tinted sunscreen that you don't like or use as much 😅
@@benjaminnhlam2867
Yeah, for sure.
@@benjaminnhlam2867 The clover extract hasn't been tested on human skin? That's a disappointment. Do you have a reference for this claim?
Wow, very impressive. I hope they launch this particular one worldwide very soon. But I have a feeling that this one is going to be expensive!
Great video. Can you please do a video on your morning and nighttime skincare routine? Thanks. God bless 🙂
You are extra glowing Dr Alexis! Any chance that you would review the DRMTLGY SPF46 ? 😇
I just got the mattescreen and I really like it 🤗
awesome
Do you find it drying? Or like it makes pores show up more?
Great video 💫 ❣️
I have Supergoop and I really like it!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love your videos!!! Thank you! Are you able to please review Garden Of Wisdom Arbutin and Kojic acid? 🙏🏼
Omg you are extremely gorgeous!!!!
Hey!! Would you consider doing a video on hypopigmentation due to laser hair removel? I had my 5th session in the summer and I ended up with small and big white spots on my legs :((. Btw I’m about a level 3/4 on the Fitzpatrick scale. 🥰🥰
Love from Portugal 🇵🇹
I been using it for months and I love it
I always see videos about FACE sunscreen, but with spring around the corner, I would love to see sunscreen suggestions for the whole body. 😊😊
Use the supergoop play sunscreen
@Dr. Alexis I'm loving the Pipette and ILIA Sunscreens so far. Thanks for the in-depth reviews and information on these products. You are one of my go-to's for how to create and maintain my skincare regimen. So happy I found your channel!
Can pipette be good for very sensitive eyes? I use solomo baby sunscreen, even tho it's sooo good for the rest of my face, my eyes kinda hate it 🥺
@@shroomtastic4875 I only use the Pipette on vacations now. For my face I use La Roche Pose Anthelios light fluid. It's amazing! No cast, absorbs very quickly, moisturizing, and works well with most other products. I love it
Glad to find this video especially now with summer approaching I want to wear a mineral sunscreen since their us more sunlight now. I'm okay with my chemical sunscreen now hut I'm looking for more
Please do you recommend the mineral sheer screen over the matte screen for those with oily skin?
10/10 Dr Dennis Gross Sheer Mineral Sun Spray Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Protection but they just recently discontinued it😑 no white cast and mineral, they need to bring it back ASAP!
Have you tried Glossier's Invisible Shield? It's great on dark skin as well and leaves no cast! I'd love to see a review maybe even comparing Supergoop and Glossier!
Thx for the video!
Dr. Stephens, you are absolutely amazing! Can you please share your expertise on moles. How do I get rid of them?!
Great to know. On the other hand can you please do a video for teenage girls who have hyperpigmentation and acnee? Do you recommended aloe in order to dry their acne?
How often are you going through your sunscreen if you're reapplying every single day? I average 2-2.5 bottles of 1.07 oz every month. It's a lot but justify the investment at this point. Really love your channel and expertise Dr. Alexis and can't wait for the next one 🖤
Please make a video on the best acid exfoliating products !!
Hi Dr. Alexis, thanks for this video. I have used Supergoop sunscreen before and I liked it. I am currently using La Roche-Posay tinted mineral sunscreen SPF 50. I have tried your previous recommendation, Pipette SPF 50 it tends to be greasy and long time to rub in. I will definitely be trying this mineral suncreen out. Thank you.
Pipette is uncomfortably greasy
amazing video as usual! what is the difference between wearing an spf30 vs 50? is it necessary to go for the higher spf or is it about ingredients?
This answer really needs an entire video to fully explain the difference but in short, I would go with the one you like best
Good question
Dr. Alexis-I can’t lie-I HATE sunscreen and I don’t use it because I feel like it messes up my skin being that I’m acne prone. I just go without it but your recommendations have been amazing and my skin has improved so much since I started using a retinol and Kojic acid and niacinamide on my skin. Thank you! Do I really need a sunscreen? I feel like they also make my skin darker and more hyperpigmentated.
That is my experience with sunscreens, the most chemical sunscreens make me darker.
Same here ! I feel like it make skin worse Omg it’s more textured I’ll jus wear a hat and use a umbrella and not go out in the heat if I don’t got to
Chemical sunscreens didn’t do anything for my discoloration. Mineral sunscreen helped it from fading. Mineral/physical sunscreen will reflect the rays from your skin. Chemical sunscreen will absorb the sunscreen in your skin and “zap” the rays. Which is why you won’t see much of a difference in hyperpigmentation for chemical sunscreens
@@mc95897what mineral sunscreen do u use
I am so glad I found your channel... I don’t think their a black dermatologist where I am in Montreal Canada and it very hard to get appointment 6 months to 1 year... also is this supergoop good for acne prone skin
Great timing. I've been eyeing their sunscreen. They can work on the price though 😒
Wow,beautiful skin
Awesome review! Will this be available in Europe?
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Hello Dr. Stephens,
I watched your video on the best sunscreens for darker skin and was wondering if this sunscreen is good to fight hyperpigmentation alone or if I would still need to add the tint for the iron oxide?
Thank you!
Great question if you have melasma I would go with iron oxide since there is data showing the benefits of iron oxide in melasma
@@DrAlexisStephens Okay will do, thank you so much for responding! :)
Looking for this sunscreen now. I also need to find that powder brush that was mentioned.
Thanks for this video! Can you suggest which powder sunscreens you suggest for reapplication through the day?
I really like the one by supergoop and they have many shades to pick from as well
Can you do a video on Alopecia in WOC please. Specifically how to regrow hair follicles that have not been scarred. I love your video!!
This x 1000.
Apparently onion juice works. Check out Green Beauty on youtube.
@@summer8291 It stinks even after shampooing and shampooing lol. Don't know how she does it.
@@gardeniainbloom812 I find that using the boil method and adding in some essential oils reduces the smell especially after I shampoo. I use head anh shoulders and then deep condition with Mielle protein free after.
@@summer8291 I'm glad it's working for you. I tried it once and couldn't tolerate the smell. It lingered for two weeks even with repeated washing. I'm guessing it's the sulphur in the onion which is helping. They do supplements.
There is a half-used bottle of Replenix Sheer Physical sunscreen on my dressing table, so I think I need to invest in a different brand because I truly need to use sunscreen, even indoors, probably. I already have a "cool" undertone, so a whitish or grayish, or bluish cast is super depressing to me, lol. Oh, new subscriber here, I have much catching up to do!
