How is that this video of The Whitlams with WASO has just over 4000 views? This performance is similar when all the elements combine to produce a vintage bottle of 'Grange' so too does Tim Freedman's & The Whitlam's create something worth bottling with WASO producing magic on stage live combining to present a musical delight!
Absolutely fabulous performance - saw the Whitlams in Edmonton when they opened for Blue Rodeo in 1999 (i think). Thought they were brilliant enough to run out and buy the Canadian version of Eternal Nightcap.
Lucky you saw them in 1999. I'm glad you enjoy this amazing Aussie band. I will be seeing them this June for the first time. (I'm in Australia) It's the 25th Anniversary Whitlams Aussie tour.
thanks for posting this up! I was looking for a different Whitlams song today and i saw this. I had to watch the whole thing!. I went to a show in 07 and had a blast. was awesome. thanks so much. hope to go to the next one.
Whitlam touring Perth WA in September 2021 I can't believe the audience werent louder knowing he's literally picked apart so many of his lyrics of every song! And there's always an element of sarcasm and comedy to break the sorrow
Pretty sure I've contributed a solid few hundred of these views on my own. Such a beautiful concert, just a pity there isn't a Bluray release with lossless audio to fully do it justice.
Wonderful. It's just now struck me how Tim Minchin must have been influenced by Tim Freedman. ...and I was influenced in my own songwriting without even realizing it!
Beautiful...hadn't realised how much I had missed this band. Hats off to Tim, Jack and the whole ensemble.
I have watched this so many times now. (Good times) Ill be back in a week or so. Peace.
The first song, Don’t be Proud, is absolutely stunning. What beautiful lyrics.
#I saw Tim & the guys with Qld Symphony Orchestra, well done #WhitlamsWASO!

Saw them Friday night with the qld symphony orchestra. Unreal
in May 2022 its out to almost 40,000 views. A great concert!
Thanks to everyone at WASO for posting this, what a wonderful time and place we live in here in the land of Oz and its many emerald cities.
'Whether you're watching in Melbourne or Milan' - Dresden here, love this band!
What an amazing find on UA-cam! Enjoyed every minute...
Saw them for free in Sydney during the 2000 Olympics, was amazing!
Tim's lyrical phrasing falling headfirst into a willing and accomplished orchestra makes the sublime rediculously good.
Beautiful 👏

WASO are brilliant..just wondering if anyone understands the brilliance of Tim

Not sure where this gem has been hiding…
FFS, even the marketing department get credited but not the arrangers. Poor form WASO!
