    Dang, I use Stabil in gas up to a year old and no issues with all my other stuff...but I will certainly not try that Techron ever and will use fresh fuel only in my DF9.9B I just bought today. Thank you so much for the informative videos, you are a good man.

    I own the exact same outboard and the shop recommended me to only use premium 98 fuel.
    Here in The Netherlands it’s either E10, which can contain up to 10% octane or E5, 5%.
    The manual says you can use E10.
    However, it is advised not to keep E10 in the tank for too long. Adding the ethanol will cause the quality of the fuel to deteriorate faster.
    I like watching your videos and learning about my motor. I’ve got it stored, it hasn’t seen my boat yet:)

      I always use 93 here highest octage i can get..but i always have gas left over in the tank from my trips and i save it in another container.. added stabilazer to “keep it from going bad” but that didnt work .. like someone told me im just gonna put the left over fuel in my truck and use always fresh fuel in for outboard

    Estimado amigo
    Desde España gracias
    Tengo el mismo motor y he hecho algunos cambios gracias a usted. No me atreveria solo.
    Entiendo que ese aceite para inyección le ha perjudicado en las bujias. Es asi? Gracias por todo

    I don't think this problem is the fuel stabilizer, its the old gas. If you have old gas and then add stabilizer its too late. Don't knock the stabilizer haha. I use stabilizer all the time with no problems. 1 ounce per gallon is nothing. Also, no need for fresh gas every day. If you use premium gas (even with 10% ethanol) with stabilizer it should last a couple of months at least (ive gone much longer with no problems). When you fill up with premium, always put a few gallons into your car tank before filling up the outboard tank. There could be a gallon of cheap gas in the pump line.

      Ethanol is hygroscopic, meaning it will absorb water. Draw a little fuel in a clear container let it sit about 15 minutes and check for a water bubble at the bottom.

    No need for fuel stabilizer in outboards like that (fuel injected), especially with a small portable tank. Just dump the unused fuel from you tank into your car at the end of the day. That way you fill up with fresh fuel every time you go out.

    You probably need to add a fuel filter/water separator to your boat

    I have 3 Suzy's , a 6hp . a 9,9hp, and a 20hp , never had a problem with Stabil marine fuel stabilizer . Use ONLY fresh ( less than 30 days old) non-ethylnol fuel ! Buy 90 octane if you can. Your problem was likely the old fuel , not the stabilizer. Our gasoline is crap !

      Thanks i learned my lesson cant get ethanol free near me. But im using fresh fuel everytime now.. the issue was the spark plugs went bad old fuel shouldnt damage the sparks i strongly belive that techron stabil had something to do. Thanks for the advice

    Have you been using the higher obtain alcohol free fuel or regular 87 octane? Which runs better?

      @laingej  3 роки тому
