Tough to tell from the camera angle, but it didn't look like there was a step ladder behind that monster. That would exponentially increase the gnar factor to off-the-chart proportions.

I’d give it a go. We’ve had a few major swells this winter here, no real channel, 45 degree water, constant paddling, no boat ride out. If I can handle that, I could surf this. Pick your line and keep your speed up. This looks like a dream. Chopes on the other hand…. I don’t think I would surf that at size.
I am wondering how it looks like, when the wave like this is passing by and there is a wipeout. To show how much water is still above the reef, if it is possible to see the tumbling surfer and how dark/light it is.
@@NathanFlorence I would love to see it. Especially if the videos from above the water can be linked to the underwater shots. I think that the light is different by the location. But at cloud break there have to be more light than Mullaghmore.
