Antiphona Diviserunt sibi
Psalmus 21
Text:
Diviserunt sibi vestimenta mea, et super vestem mean miserunt sortem
1. Deus, Deus meus, quare me dereliquisti? Longe a salute mea verba rugitus mei. Deus meus, clamo per diem, et non exaudis, et nocte, et non est requies mihi.
2. Ego autem sum vermis et non homo, opprobrium hominum et abiectio plebis. Omnes videntes me deriserunt me; torquentes labia, moverunt caput:
«Speravit in Domino: eripiat eum, salvum faciat eum, quoniam vult eum».
3. Foderunt manus meas et pedes meos, et dinumeravi omnia ossa mea. Ipsi vero consideraverunt et inspexerunt me; diviserunt sibi vestimenta mea et super vestem meam miserunt sortem. Tu autem, Domine, ne elongaveris, fortitudo mea, ad adiuvandum me festina. Erue a framea animam meam et de manu canis unicam meam.
We miss you a lot dear Holy Father Pope Benedict....

We have to pray for him, for Pope Francis and his Pontificate. We must respect our Pope as well.

Brilliant, the more traditional papal vestments look so much better in that baroque cathedral than the bland modern ones now in use again... In his later years, Benedict XVI really gave us a glimpse of the old days, when formal aesthetics still mattered. Sadly, his successor has no sense of style, no elegance, no grace; all he seems to care about is showing off his humility, which is a contradiction in terms.
Of course the traditional vestments are very beautiful, and Pope Benedict XVI was an awesome Pontiff. However, I disagree with you about Pope Francis. He's simpler, but I don't think that it means he has no sense of style, no elegance, no grace, as you said. And we can't say that he just wants to show off his humility, maybe he feels better in simpler vestments. He is our Pope, so we must pray for him and for his Pontificate.
Manca molto Papa Benedetto
Poderia ficar horas ouvindo, horas
I find it interesting that the most beautiful and admired liturgical events in the ordinary form are those parts that are indistinguishable from the Extraordinary Form (the Traditional Mass). Nobody seems to be all that enamored of the garbage that has transpired from the "liturgical revolution" brought about from the failed assembly known as Vatican II.
Vatican II was not a failed assembly. And New Mass is not a garbage(however, the liturgical abuses are).
@@vitoralvesrs Vatican II was supposed to bring about a "New Pentecost". In fact, by every measure things went from good to bad, or worse. As for the Novus Ordo, if it is not garbage, why is the fruit it bears so rotten? Only 30% of Catholics believe in the Real Presence, while a majority support contraception, divorce, same sex "marriage", and priestesses. And, many Catholics, including our national leaders, openly support and use the government to increase access to abortion. Meanwhile, the Extraordinary Form has been like the mustard seed, starting from nearly nothing and growing explosively, especially among the young (and supplying many vocations for priests, monks, and nuns). I would never compel anyone to attend the Extraordinary Form, or deny them the right to attend the ordinary, but it's obvious the restrictions on the Extraordinary Form are a sign that people like Francis see their pride hurt by the fact that Catholics are learning of their heritage and wish to partake of it fully. Sadly, they fear piety among the people.
@@connecticutyankee9706 These problems you said are consequences of those bad ideologies, bad teaching of the doctrine, liturgical abuses, and misinterpretation of the documents of Vatican II. The Novus Ordo itself is not bad, or even garbage. I really admire the Extraordinary Form, my point here is actually to clarify that we must not throw away the Ordinary Form.
Happy new year for you. And God bless you.
It seems that you are sticking to the external rites and Gregorian chants, because there are many things that have changed from the previous liturgy: the texts of the word of God are much better chosen now, changing the text of Hosea for that of Isaiah. And the liturgy can be very beautiful following the reform of Vatican II: it is not only Gregorian who lives the liturgy, which is frankly boring and does not reach the faithful in any way.
