The sponge trick is the best advice you gave. You could even do it from the ground if you can improvise a j hook on the end of the extending pole. Then just push the sponge along from the ground level.
Great video! I really like the sponge idea. So simple. It pushes the debris, keeps them from flowing back and it cleans the small stuff too. I was using my fingers to do this. Thanks for the video, I'm going to try this. I also like the hanging bucket.
Dude thank you so much great tips. and for the guy who mentioned the leaf blower , that works ok if your gutter is really dry but you still make a mess down below on decks , walks or even the house. This way it saves time not having to do extra clean up.
If it’s been dry for weeks and you have a big bush area you can blow it into after then it works (you may need to blow some dust off the house too after).
Hello from a gutter cleaner on the East coast . Good job cleaning them by hand . So many company's blow them out . In return I ve seen damaged shingles and sloppy messes.
Great tips! Finally, someone with more OCD issues than me LOL! We use plastic gutter guards so no need for bucket that camera shot was pretty freaky looked like 3D when you went over the side to hang your gutter bucket! I like taking our backpack leaf blower up to clean How often do u suggest cleaning these?
It's been hours and water keeps coming out of my gutters Like dripping water out of the normal place of where it would come out But the thing is it's the rain has stopped for hours I don't understand why Water is still coming out Do you have any idea what this could be
Good ideas! Do you have a special method for cleaning gutters in the rain? Up till now, we've told the clients that we don't due to obvious safety reasons. The other reason is we like to remove the debris as they are relatively dry because the City we service requires the use of paper bags when placing the debris out on the curb for pick up. What are your thoughts?
Good tip, using the sponge. You could stand on a ladder at gutter level and just push the sponge along with the extension pole ...and just climb up at the opposite end and empty the stuff that the sponge moved along
using a hose and a 90 degree fitting on a pole works quickly and well, you can buy some 2x2 from the store some hose clamps or tape, put the hose up there and flush all that crap down
thanks for the tips - not digging the leg hanging off the roof - when I was about 9 or 10, my friends father fell off a regular one story roof and died - Be Careful!
Keep it simple, good idea. Explain to your clients that you must be tied on for all your protection. You should charge more and take the time to tie. Keep the damn leg in too;)
Not good to hang the bucket off the gutter. If the debris are wet a 5 gal bucket can get quite heavy. You also have to lean over the roof edge to retrieve it. Not a good plan.

Easier said than done I’m afraid

Lol, thanks for props Adam 😄
Great video
Nice, safety first. Thanks Adam.
Thanks for the tips! Awesome!
sponge trick....awesome idea! Thank you.
great job man, very informative
This is great assuming the roof isn't too steep. Also, instead of the garden shovel I use a spaghetti spoon. Love the sponge idea.

How would blowing gutter ruin shingles. Get them on the ground and blow them in a pile
Well I guess you don’t know when where and why you said that
Thanks for the info. ..
👍Hard work, nice results!
Brilliant idea
Good trick, i'll give it a go!
Brilliant thanks for sharing that

Sponge idea is great
you're right.
I need to do a new video.
Shop vac and a gutter kit: clean without getting on a ladder.

Good advise for the most of us unless you got some monkey blood...
How much do you charge people to clean gutters, how do you figure the bidding price?
cut the end of the small shovel off to make it a square instead of a point that works better
I almost got sick looking over the edge.

Keep the damn leg in too;)
Thanks! Good tips. Hey, you're a bit close to the edge. Whoa. Whoa! Whooaaaa. Just kidding. I'm sure u must have some safety line or such.

no retrieve it.use a long cord to sent it down...
Hi there have u checked out GutterStuff.com for your gutters? It will make cleaning your gutters a thing of the past. #GutterStuff
Guys dont do it this way. Its dangerous. Some roofs have mold and can be slippery when u look over into the gutter this way.
Please don't fall off lol.
Awful.
were is the safety belt, this is to dangeres!
DANGEROUS
Brilliant idea
