Every one keeps mentioning Brad. But Eric literally played the role of Hector so good. Hats off for him
Thanks for the feedback.
Achilles is the protagonist but Hector is widely accepted to be the best man in the film by audiences. Even Achilles realizes it once his anger goes down. He’s the whole package, gentle, loving husband, father, brother and son, protective of his country, tactically intelligent, ferocious fighter and the one dishonorable thing he does in the whole movie, is so that he can protect his brother. I don’t know what they saw in Eric for this character when you consider the types of roles he played beforehand, but it certainly was there. Nearly everyone in this movie is perfectly cast.
Totally agree with you. Eric played his characters very good, even it’s been years I watched this movie, I still remember the way he played hector
Hector is my favourite character, he was born to play him, like Brad for Achiles
everyone in the movie was perfectly casted, except for maybe Orlando but even that’s debatable
Brad Pitt was born to play Achilles unforgettable
Certainly was Harry.
i don't think the movie would have been remember so much, if Brad didn't play achilles
@@anneneville6255 And yet he never wanted to be in the movie.
Yes, i wanted to tell👏🏻👌🏻
My Fav Film
The fight between Hector and Achilles is probably the best ever caught on film. Even more remarkable is the fact that it's the actors doing the scene, not stunt doubles intercut with close ups of the actor's faces. So let's give a big round of applause to Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, the fight choreographer and the film crew. Movie magic.
Brad and Eric absolutely made this movie legendary
Beautiful movie in my opinion. Brad Pitt and Eric Bana delivered spectacular performances. James Horner as usual made a beautiful score.
Thanks for the feedback.
“Imagine a king who fights his own battles, wouldn’t that be a sight?”
Thanks for the feedback.
Alexander The Great was fighting battles at 15, General by 20, then eventually King 👑
@@mistersmith3986 There was more than 70 cities named after himself-and one after his horse Bucephala
All the sacrifice paid off. My favorite movie ever. I can watch 100 times over
Thanks for the feedback.
My 20th
the movie felt very natural.. its wierd looking at these preperations
Glad you enjoyed it Jak.
One of the greatest movies ever 💖
Couldn't agree more.
What a great movie
Glad you enjoyed it riswan richu.
I can't believe how much better movies back in the day were no CGI CRAP just pure Action.
While every film can;t have this level of production, its as if none even come close to this anymore. It's sad it went that way, films of this early 2000s era are really something different.
My good friend Joseph Cardona (RIP) worked on this film in Malta building the trojan horse. He said Brad Pitt was an absolute gent. He loved the experience.
The fighting choreography for this movie was great.
This movie is so underrated, I mean they did this movie old school most of it, real and gritty, some CG but this is spectacular.
Brad Pitt’s greatest work!he was perfect for this roll
After years of watching troy, I sit back again to watch the full movie. This movie gives chill. Well done team to produce the perfect movie ever
One of the best movies of all time! Let them say
.I lived in the time of Hector, tamer of horses!
Loved the movie as a kid, still loved it now as an adult. Definitely my favourite movie of all time. Made me cry when I was younger 😀
All my life I've lived by a code and the code is simple: honor the gods, love your woman and defend your country. Troy is mother to us all. Fight for her!
Got off work today and randomly wanted to relax and watch behind the scenes footage from this movie. Found this video uploaded from 2 months ago. Awesome. Glad im not the only one who thinks about good movies like this from time to time.
Glad you enjoyed it Chilli B. 👍🏼
Hector and achillis were both my favorites. I didn't know who i wanted dead when the 2 heroes fought. I can watch this movie a 1000 more times
I'm pretty sure it was settled like 2500 years ago who would die
Same.
You have to root for Hector. It was believed that Achilles could not be killed, yet Hector went out to fight him, not once but twice. He thought he had won but it turned out to be the "cousin" Patroclus, so he had to do it all over again. It's easy fighting to the death when you've been dipped in the River Styx as a baby making your skin impenetrable. The real hero of the plot is the humble but brave Hector not the psychotic bully Achilles.
lovved this movie. .. and still do. All main actors were great, especially Hecttor and Achilles.
A great movie. People who wanted the original story of Illiad to be exactly told were disappointed I guess. I loved the way the director adapted the story to show the fault lines in the war and why it always serves the greedy.
Thank you for your feedback.
The only problem I have with this movie is that they showed the war to be too short - it’s like the whole war ended in few days instead of months or even years. They keep mentioning 10 years as reference to original, but that’s it
I'm in love with Achilles😍
Where have we heard that before?? 🤔🤔
As I am a Turk, it was a really beautiful movie, Troy, a real legend that happened in Çanakkale, Turkey.
TEAM HECTOR! Eric Bana was the best part of this movie :) Brad was awesome as well, but Eric was just majestic and soulful. What a guy lol
Hector is the cutest
Achilles is the handome-est
Agreed.
Most handsome*
@@santiagopasha1459 i got that wrong on purpose dude
And Paris is the charmer 😂
@@hagophovaguimian2271 TBH I disagree
While I didn't love this movie because of the story, the action, SFX, set design etc were all fantastic. The fight scene between Achilles and Hector was fantastic, there's so much storytelling there, and it is SO impressive that stunt doubles weren't used. I really enjoyed this BTS commentary, it makes me appreciate all that went into the making of this film so much more. The challenges that came with the harsh environment was something I never considered before. This makes me want to watch the film again!
It doesn't have to be true to the Illiad to be an amazing film. What even is the Iliad anyway
Idk about stunt doubles not being used. I watched the movie back then and freezeframed certain parts. Watch the duel between Achilles and Hector. When Achilles does his signature "superman side stab jump" you'll see the stunt double.
Peter o Toole deserves so much praise for doing such a performance on that age
I think portraying how a Demigod fights must have been one of the most difficult things during shooting. Also that was before the era where everything is CGI
This movie is a one of a kind masterpiece that doing a remake is just downright impossible
If they make a remake, we would see a sh*tty cgi battle
I sympathize with Hector and Achilles..I didn't want any of them to end that way.
Gotta keep it to history you know!😅🤗🙌🏻
Movie trivia: Brad Pitt ruptured his Achilles tendon during filming.
Achilles ruptured his Achilles.
It delayed shooting the final scenes for 10 months.
Thank you for the feedback.
This movie is underrated.
Thank you for your comment.
Achilles was my favorite character no doubt... The movie was just way too good honestly tho like it’s amazing how natural it looks (Lol it’s a movie obviously it looks good)
Glad you enjoyed it.
Just because it’s a movie, it doesn’t guarantee it will look good. This is a testament to the director and cinematographer, as well as everyone who designed what the cameras captured.
Probably the best sword fight in film history. Should be proud.
One of my favorite movies of all time
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL MOVIE!! ONE OF MY FAVOURITES
Glad you enjoyed it.
Me and family we stayed in Riveria Hotel in Malta for 10 days during half term in May 2003, I can remember as a 4 year old there was a lot of boats I use to say mummy's boat and daddy's boat until as an adult now that they were filming Troy. I cannot believe they were filming in Malta , while me and family were on holiday at the time.
Must be a unique memory 😊
Peter O'Toole's performance was incredible in this
Thanks for bringing this in 2020
No Problem.
I thought the fire ball scene was CGI. But no, it was real giant fireballs, and people can to really run from them O.o
Definitely Real. Thank you for the feedback.
OMG I LOVE THIS MOVIE AND BRAD PITT ❤️🎥😘
Yep he really rocks this movie Allisha Snooks.

Glad you enjoyed it buddy.
Filming the fireball scene was absolutely insane 😂
I love this Movie and the Architecture that you developed for this. There is a detail, a moment, just after Achilles finishes talking with Odysseus and he is walking on the Beach of Phthia when you can see for a moment a gigantic structure in the distance, I wanted to ask if that is the Palace of Peleus? Are there more images of the structure? or does anyone know where to find it? Greetings!
I noticed how brad had really short hair and noticed how Mr and Mrs Smith came out right after this movie.
BTS features were so good in the 2000's
