Classic Game Room reviews WILLIAMS PINBALL HALL OF FAME for the Playstation 2 video game console systems. The proper name of the game is PINBALL HALL OF FAME: THE WILLIAMS COLLECTION. Do you like pinball? F Yeah! And this game does a great job of bringing the retro classic old school arcade game home to your gameroom. The gameplay is solid, the graphics are nice and the footage from the review shows all of that. Enjoy several Williams brand pinball classics like Gorgar, Space Shuttle, Firepower, Pinbot, Funhouse, Taxi, Whirlwind and Black Knight. (but no Bride of Pinbot!??) Mutiball, multi-ball! Shoot the extra ball, up the ramp, don't mess up, ahhhhhhh!!!! Pinball is awesome and it needs to come back into style. This game is also available on the Wii and PSP. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The bowling alley in my town has a T2 Pinball machine and it's one of the best pinball games I've ever played.
Dark Fire Productions that was my favorite as well... Played it at pizza hut while waiting for my girlfriend to get off work back in the day. Then as an adult it popped up in the break room at work which was awesome.

You wouldn't believe how many hours lately I've spent just playing PIN*BOT in this collection just to try to advance the bonus to the Sun and complete the Wizard objectives for the table. The farthest I ever get is Earth.

This is my favorite pinball Videogame review of all time! I would of loved to see an updated review on the PlayStation 3 version with the three added tables (No Good Gofers, Tales Of The Arabian Nights, and Medieval Madness). One can hope for Mark can do one last review on this wonderful pinball compilation!
Sorcerer as well. Both versions are great.
The Wii version is awesome. It works in 480p and they use the motion controls for nudging/tilting the machine.

@toa95 I bought this for my PSP and the gameplay looks exactly the same as what you see here. In fact, his description of this PS2 version holds true for the PSP. If you can find the PSP version used for about $10 it is well worth it - very addictive!
Another great review from the Game Room. Pinball machines are awesome. It's always great to come across one at various restaurants, stores, etc.
For anyone missing Pinball check out Shorty's Bar in Seattle WA!! They have at least 10 machines goin every night!
My uncle bought this for the Wii and is letting me and my mom borrow it for a while. I've gotta say, its very fun. I especially like Funhouse, Whirlwind, Taxi, and Space Shuttle.
I played pinball before there were such a thing as "arcade video games", and have fond memories of going to Little Italy (old pizza joint in Groveport back in the late 70s), putting a quarter in the jukebox to listen to the Kiss song "God of Thunder" and then playing a Bicentennial-themed table...great times.
But I bought this collection principally for Pin-bot. Had only encountered one in the wild once, in the early 90s at an old arcade called Aladdin's Castle (used to be at the old Southland Mall in far South Columbus OH), and had a great time, even though I knew little about it. Even though of course it wasn't like a real pin, it's as close as I could get on a video screen. Later picked up the Williams Collection for the Xbox 360.
Fun fact: Farsight Studios, the company who made these games, also made the Sega Genesis version of Action-52 back in the early 90s. That even had a pinball table.
If only they would make an original Cheetahmen table. That would kick ass.
My fav pinball machines when playing this are Funhouse and Taxi
Pinbot was also ported for the NES back in the 80's. That was the first time I ever got to play that machine. I was hooked. I only got to see it in an arcade once, and it was out of order.
It's good to see that it's available on the modern platforms.
The arcade ain't gone in Twin Lake, manitoba. It's a couple miles out of town. But it's so worth it.
You mention several times that video games killed pinball, but according to the documentary Tilt - The Battle to Save Pinball, sales of pinball machines reached an all time high at the beginning of the 90s, at a point in time when video games had already been around for decades. In 1993, sales dropped drastically: apparently, the market was oversaturated; older machines were still around and making money, so operators didn't deem investing in newer machines necessary to max out potential profits
Seeing this makes me feel only sad at the loss of video arcades. Why can't I go someplace where there's a ton of video games and pinball machines? I really miss the classic pinball machines.
And the video game industry has suffered greatly by not having a competitive environment like the arcades. That's how you learn proper game design, by fiercely competing for kids' quarters. That competition made the games tight, fast, intense, and to the point.

I bought this for the 360 last week, and I can't quit playing it.
Namely Medieval Madness, Taxi and all the included Lawlor tables. But this game screams for downloadable content (additional tables).
And games that should've been included - Black Knight 2000, Earthshaker, Bad Cats, Comet, Dr. Who, Twilight Zone, Judge Dredd, Cirqus Voltaire, Red & Ted's Roadshow, Safecracker, Junkyard, and Attack From Mars.
Mark, i bought this game (Wii version) for my girlfriend and spent at least a good week or so playing it on vacation.

Yes, I agree, Bride of Pinbot should have been included in this one. It also should have included Jackbot which was the third in the Pinbot series, Earthshaker and Junkyard. I loved these games.

Stern Electronics is the only Pinball machine manufacturing company in existence today. A lot of the guys from Williams still design Pinball machines for companies like Stern. I attended the Texas Pinball Festival this year. It was awsome (crappy video on my account)
Skee Ball on the Wii would rule....ticket dispensor sold separately.
I really wish they would release this on the 360. This is one of those times I wish I would have kept my PS2 before I purchased the 360.

The Wii version gives you all the tables that the PS2 version has, plus two other tables "Sorcerer" and "Jive Time" i have it for the Wii it's a very very good game.

Wow this looks like a awesome game. I was never very good at Pinball, but I enjoyed playing them. I think I'm going to have to check out eBay for this game.
I like the music in it too. The game sounds and looks very colorful as well.

Just recently on XBOX Live, you can download what's called the "Game Room". It is a video game version of arcade video games. You can play as yourself playing frogger, or almost any other arcade game. I know that you were being sarcastic in the video, plus this video came out two years before Game Room, but it's real. They're trying to bring the arcade experience home because home video game consoles have also killed the arcade.

There's a Simpson's pinball at a gas station near where I used to live. Not The Simpson's Pinball Party though. Most arcades that I've been to near me only have a few pinball games. There's a Metallica game though at the Cineplex in West Edmonton Mall

True, but if I were running Crave, I would pay for the rights to use TZ, Dr. Who, Addams Family and Judge Dredd because those are probably some of the most well known pinball games in existence, and ever pinball fan in the world would buy this game for either TZ or AF, alone. But, at least I can always turn to Visual Pinball for my TZ fix...
I'm still surprised that BK is one of the included tables, but it's far superior sequel was left out. I could listen to BK2K's music all day.
Mark should definitely review The Pinball Arcade. Better than Zen Pinball in my opinion (although it's mostly because I prefer to play real tables in virtual pinball, oddly enough.) The Pinball Arcade is made by the same developer as both the Gottlieb and Williams collects and TPA blows them both out of the water in terms of visuals, gameplay, and tables.
Back To The Future Pinball game was my favorite. My top pick is The Wizard Of OZ!!
The arcade isn't dead were I live. We are lucky to have an arcade with classic games ONLY. They had pinball for the first few years but they got rid of the three,;gorgar,firepower and big guns,all, by williams
One complaint with this game. It doesn't have Pinball Wizard in its soundtrack

What's worse is that since it can be hard to find working carts anymore, you had to resort to emulators to play Pin*Bot. Pin*Bot must have been based on some special technology because the emulators are unable to play it!

Great game but the nudging feature is a little much, they let you get you away with murder. I can't believe how much you can shake the table before a tilt is called its not realistic that way. Still a fun game tho.
I just bought a new copy for $10 ! I've been pretty hooked on it, Hands down better than Gollieb's pinball collection cos you can nudge it and as stated. turn off the background music.

I have a nonfunctioning pinball machine. I wish I had the money to repair it but I don't feel like it is worth it either. What I really want to do with it is build a 100 percent new machine with just the cabinet staying the same. It is an old electromechanical machine that a pinball expert told me was worth nothing in terms of historical value or actual price..

psp on a plane playing pinball...i dont think u can put your pinball table on a plane,unless is your plane.
The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are better because they Both have four more tables than this one i believe
Five actually :D Those versions have Jive Time, Sorcerer, Tales of the Arabian Nights, No Good Gofers, and Medieval Madness! The Wii version has Jive Time and Sorcerer as well. And the 3DS sadly has the fewest, which is missing all of the above plus Firepower.
Yeah my grandpa owns the Xbox one so every time I go over I play it.Also I prefer this game over pinball arcade since I like its arcade feel,unlike pinball arcade which is just a title screen
