    It would be nice if fully-electric vehicles can get tax breaks or tax exemptions to make them cheaper and become adapted faster locally. As well as better infrastructure support, meaning more charging stations.

    We need an ardent promoter of clean renewable energy in the congress and senate to be able to push for electrification laws in motor vehicles. Incentives to those who would invest on charging infrastructure for all types of ports would be a great start. Provide tax breaks as well for car companies selling EVs.

      The electrification of vehicle is a business move. It won't save the environment since electric vehicles would need lots of Lithium mining which in turns would require lots of diesel run mining vehicles and trucks. It's a scam.

    Atm for EVs you'd be better off having your own fast charger installed at home. Also for someone who regularly travels to a city 300kms away the range of the leaf is cutting it close. This is great for short rides though 😍

    One of a problem i see here is the charging location. Some ev's have their charging ports in the front which is the most common areas for minor accidents.
    Just imagine getting in a "managable" accident and instead of just having the front bumper repaired, but as well as its charging port.

  • @Claro1993
    @Claro1993 2 роки тому +6

    Some corrections about him saying that the chargers are proprietary to Nissan: the leaf that his reviewing uses the SAE J1772 electrical connection for level 1 (low power from a household wall outlet) and level 2 (similar to an electric dryer) charging which is a standard for most North American EVs and Japan, while the other one is called a Chademo for level 3 DC fast charging that was developed in Japan, but not as widespread globally.

    • @speeddemon945
      @speeddemon945 2 роки тому

      ...and ChaDeMo is about to get obsolete. and that is why Nissan Leaf if getting a bit of a hate in abroad kasi lahat halos CCS2 (Combo) and/or Tesla Proprietary port na sila ChaDeMo pa din. And that kinda sucks IMHO. hopefully they ditch the ChaDeMo or Nissan Ariya.

    You can buy a J1772 Type 1 to Type 2 adaptor to solve the issue of adaptor compatibility although it’s a bummer to have this kind of jumble of standard. I really hope that the government invest heavily and promote EV in the PH.

      This is not intended for those who are worried about spending money. This EV is costlier by about P1 million than say a Civic. Definitely hindi mo mababawi yun dagdag na P1M sa gas savings in 10 years, kahit lumabas ka araw araw. Buyers of this has other reasons in mind, not saving pesos.

      Malay natin baka yung wigo or vios after 10-12 years maging electric na yung ibebentang brand new. Lets see pero mahal pa talaga as of now ang electric vehicle since hindi pa masyadong mass-produced.

    The Nissan Leaf alone since it's launched in 2012 has the highest number of sold out EV's in the world, do you know why? Co'z the price was reasonable.
    I think the Philippine market is not ready yet as it's so EXPENSIVE plus the scarcity of charging points.
    Why expensive? Based on my computation, let say I drove my gasoline engine car up to 100,000 km in 5 years time with an ave.of 13 kpl (in both traffic and highway) with an ave. price of 75 php/ltr (with inflations & fluctuations) During that time, I fueld my tank with 7692.3 ltrs x 75 php = 576,923 pesos. Compared to the Leaf you will only spend 1/4 on that amount using electric fuel.
    In that say, I do need to run for 200K to 250K kilometers to match my savings on electric fuel compared to when buying cheaper gasoline engine top of the line Civic or Altis.
    Hayss,, I don't even know what to say.
    I thought this thing is only around 1.5 to 2M price range. It is even more expensive compared to the top of line mid-sized SUV'S in the market!
    The comfort level and cargo capacity is incomparable compared to this cute little thing.😂

    At almost 2.8M, I really doubt if the Leaf will take off in Philippine market. Try comparing it to a similar class automobile like the Honda Civic V Turbo CVT, which cost around 1.6M pesos. The difference is 1.2M pesos. I bet that you won't be able to consume all of that 1.2M in the next 7 years (approx 171K a year) buying gas, and providing maintenance for the Civic. Those who can afford to buy a Nissan Leaf I'm sure will have another car. And that another car will not be electric.
