Great! A new creator for me to watch! Nice build here. I was just thinking of a similar build I have been planning for when I have time to do so. Thank you for sharing this quite solid and accurate project!
an essential feature of a table saw is the ability to easily make precise depth of cut adjustments. this allows you to use a flat grind blade to cut dadoes, lap joints, tenons, rabbets, box joints and much more. without that, functionality is extremely limited, and the only thing you can do with this that you cant do with an edge guide is rip small pieces. i did not see a depth adjustment modification in this or your next video, so purely from the standpoint of functionality i do not see how the benefits of a detailed build like this outweigh the costs if you wanted to mount your circular saw upside down to do rip cuts in spite of safety issues detailed below, you could just mount it on a piece of plywood and clamp a straight edge for a fence for pretty much the same functionality and without all the fuss you've gone through. probably not a good a idea, but not worse than what you've done, and a lot less work in short, your design is not functional enough to be worth making. from a safety standpoint, the picture is much worse. a blade depth adjustment typically raises and lowers a riving knife with the blade, which most carpenters, woodworkers, insurance carriers, and industry associations consider an essential safety feature to prevent kickback and serious injury to hands or other parts of the body. this judgement is based on analysis of tens of thousands of injuries that occur annually in the US alone, with medical costs exceeding 2 billion dollars a year (tinyurl.com/2pek8bkn). instead of a riving knife, which raises and lowers with the blade and maintains a constant distance from the blade, you could fashion a splitter, which is fixed and develops a gap from the blade (and less effectiveness) as the blade is lowered, but i dont even see this rudimentary feature on your saw. without a riving knife or at least a well-designed splitter, operating a table saw like yours without a guard or anti-kickback pawls seems extremely dangerous to me, and i would urge extreme caution if using such a design in the form presented for any purpose, including brief, occasional cuts. maybe not worth it however, a similar design for a router table, incorporating a fence and sled, would be very functional and wouldnt implicate all the safety stuff of mounting a circular saw upside down
Wonderful job! Congratulations! I would like to suggest you in order to get more safety that your on-off interruptor be changed to a contactor. Using a contactor in case of electric power goes off and when the energy come back your circular saw will remain off until you put the power on again.
Looks sweet but has no tilting, riving knife, fence or slide. And you no longer have your circular saw. Not a good investment of time and money 😔 Did something similar myself back in the days 😂
You really build a lot of great things, but a lot of safety devices are missing here! No emergency stop switch, no riving knife, no protective hood, no correctly aligned and fixed rip fence that can also be pulled back. I'm not sure if it's really worth building something like this yourself?
Muchas gracias.
The Makita Circular saw is just north of 200 dollars itself, the wood for that project, mostly 3/4" good grade Plywood is about 60 dollars a sheet, the paint, hardware and other fasteners probably another 60 dollars and he's still missing a Rip Fence, any safety guards, and has to lift it all up and prop it with sticks to adjust the saw depth, with no slot for angle cutting... OR, he could take about 300 dollars and go buy a ready built REAL portable Table saw like a Dewalt, that has a Rip Fence, that's gear adjustable, all the safety guards, a push stick, and precision saw depth and angle adjustments... Sure is fun watching these videos, isn't it !
Why didn't you show cutting the blade slot, which is very important? You used an angle grinder, didn't you? 😄 There's no shame in using an angle grinder, that's the only way I could cut mine! 😄 Thanks for the great video, that's a quality tool!
I agree, especially when you don't achieve all the features that a table-saw must have. It appears he is well equipped with a router table , a drop-saw and I have a feeling that he has a good table-saw too but won't show it however just want fill the youtube with their own videos, 747K views.
In USA, you can find old Makita 8-1/4 or 10-1/4 saws in thrift shops and pawn shops real cheap. They're very powerful and last forever so a used one is usually in great shape.
Why does the blade not run true looks like it is not on the arbor fully? Too much setup time and no tilt. Nice looking well put together but I guess for a hobbyist it is good to go
Good thought. He has a vacuum running which would be useless if air didn't enter from somewhere. Probably just the blade slot. It would be interesting to see if that's enough to keep the saw motor cool. Perhaps he should cut some vents to allow more air to come through. Excellent thinking.
@@TwigsandDwarf FINE JOB!, But the blurring of the blade is clearly due to it not being well centered on the motor shaft. Most probably because the blade needs a thin ring to center it perfectly. Check the diameter of the hole in the center of the blade versus the shaft diameter!
This is not a table saw as there is no adjustment to angle the blade and the motor is far weaker, making it useless for hard deep material. Additionally it's quite a bit of work/expense for no real added value ~ a track system is far better for this hand saw.

Nice job. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎
I really like your work, you don't say much, but you really show everything...
You made a fantastic job of making a Table Saw & I'm going to use your Video & make my own so thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Envidioso

That's alot of labor and materials. Or you could have gone out and bought a table saw.
This is lovely! Do you plan to add the capability for mitered cuts at a later time?
Amazing project! Too bad Makita stopped making the table saw!

Very good! It would be better to have a removable throat plate.
Make your own table saw! Proceeds to use a table saw to make a table saw 😂
Ikut belajar dan mengikuti prosesnya, sangat menginspirasi.👍

great work....and them chop sticks bro0....thats2funny, seriously though....what about that riving knife...? that riving knife
Proudly made in Japan!
Very good woodworking skills.
Lavlii to maath

cool build and fun to watch!
Great job!Keep walking man.🙂
it would be a lot easier to purchase an inexpensive table top saw (many on market at decent prices) good work but why??

Very nice! How did you fix the wobble of the blade?
That would cost more than ready made good one
nice looking but the lack of power will become frustrating at some point .

how long is your router bit?.,.,i found it hard to reach such depth using mine
How many amperes you use the switch button thank you...
Very creative I must do likely

Tout à fait d’accord .
Great job! What is the clear height of the blade from the surface of the table? how did you install the circular saw?
Gerat job, do you have a plan with dimensions.
Lavoro perfetto, complimenti!!
terimah kasih abang sdah berbagi tutorialnya keren salam satu hobi
Amazing table saw , great work !
Do you have free plans for this ?

nice table saw
*Excellent work* 👍👍👍

You do know they have tablesaws ready to use, don't you?
good going.... carrot top...did ya notice...?ya didnt get a heart.....and now you stick out like a sore thumb

in addition you cannot install a riving knife to protect from kickback
Impressive workmanship! Well done. But have to agree, for your own and viewer's safety, a riving knife is a must.

Perfect 👍

Great
What is your occupation ?
brilliant,
Bro you forgot to make 45 degree angle 👍
it is dangerous without anti-kickback blade
It's dangerous if it stays as it is. I plan to add it little by little from now on.
otlichno super
Hà nội việt nam thanhs you .xin cảm ơn bạn nhé
Hmmmmmm???? What about tilting?
Waste of time and money - ideal video for yt on what not to do.
And now we just have to wait for the fist accident (and there will be) to happen 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Gonna lose some teeth with kickback

No Thanks.. Neat job, but No Thank.

Don’t push a cutting edge toward your hand chisel nor a knife

please add a riving knife... >.
