In all your videos you make everything look so easy when constructing or building furniture ... owing to your consummate skills. HOWEVER...it was hilarious to see you defeated by the long whippy branch :))) you're human after all ! Thank you for all your uploads. Keep up the good work. Jay
those turned out beautiful your wife and you should be really proud of your craftsmanship. I love all the extra features you put into yours with the hammer and the real looking hair.
What a superb display of craftsmanship, i must say! Of all the woodworkers i follow on youtube, you are one of my favorite! Your channel is much more diverse than most others
man i tell ya,i have watched countless makers for a long time. I just witnessed the most unbelievable artistic craftmanship ever. you and your wife are amazing. speechless thank you
This brings back fond memories. I remember the first video of yours I watched which featured your nutcrackers and your (then) girlfriend's (now wife's) smile. These warm my heart.
That was a really great build! The whole set of them is pretty incredible. And I love the idea of the tradition of coming together to build a project every Christmas. Need to find something like that to do with my wife for Christmas!
Thanks, there's a lot of nice stuff to do, even simple stuff. Making wreaths is another one. We usually make one each year with straw wreath forms and those long staple things. We go around and get stuff, it's a quick fun project but the wreath will last a while.
This is a great project, and even better that it's something that you do with your wife. I've just shown my Mrs, and it looks like I might be doing this one on my own!
Now that is fantastic !! I've been hoping to learn more about your nutcracker since I heard you mention it over a year ago. They are simply gorgeous. You and your wife are fine artists ! You seem to work well together. I bet that's nice !! Thanks for sharing HC, Steph_Louisiana
Wow, that's about the best word I can use to describe your craftsmanship, the wife's painting and the imagination you two put into all the nutcrackers! The added accessories you put some of them (anvil and hammer for one example) are great! Hope there is more detail on all of them at your website (which I will check later)?
Sure is, I did a short article about making them and posted a nice photo of each one, for others who read this the article is right on the home page of my site, www.thehomesteadcraftsman.com
Tisn't the season... Just kidding! Excellent video. Love seeing the light hearted humor with your professional craftsmanship. Pretty funny when the nutcrackers mouth opened everytime you hammered his head 😃
wow, thank you for sharing your journey! it was made with such love.. blessings to you from the Great Pacific Northwest, Lakewood, Wa! stacysartfulheart
WOW !! So what are you going to surprise us with next? My goodness, you have amazing talent. Well, you still have to work on learning how to break a vine twig. LOL, that was amusing. Thanks for sharing.
We look forward to it. ;) You know, for a moment there I was like: What in the world? What's with the red nail polish? Then we realized this was your wife's hand. She is pretty talented too. You will have talented children... in the future that is. ;)
You know I've been following you for months now. I guess the first video I ever watched was the knife making. Every time my phone tells me there is a new video up I have to quit everything I'm doing to watcha cause it will certainly be something awesome. :)
Wow, thanks.....hope you don't get an alert while driving! Glad your watching, I'll be posting another video later this week.....with many more to follow.
I bought your ebook and found it very informative. when can I look forward to more in the series? Also, do your customers pay for tables when they order them or after you deliver it?
Thank you. I'm working on the next one now, it's on my marketing techniques, which are all low budget but effective options and just ways of doing things in general, presentation and such. My customers pay a deposit and then the rest when I deliver the table. Good luck.
Normally a week or working on it straight for a couple days and then off and on for the rest......but the past few years have taken longer as they are more complicated.
Commercial's, I have recently stared to watch the commercials from start to finish on all the channels that I like, I just wanted to encourage you guys to do the same if you felt so inclined. Anything I can do to support the channel. Nice video by the way.
Well thanks, for those of you reading that don't already know I also have several things I sell with plans for more in the future. Due to demand and many requests I have written one ebook www.amazon.com/How-Make-Money-Woodworking-Developing-ebook/dp/B01C4IWUNK and also sell furniture plans for farm tables and more. www.thehomesteadcraftsman.com/p/plans.html
Yeah that tree has it bad, but it's dead now. I cut all the vines at the ground and sprayed them and will continue if it starts to grow back. I steer clear of it....the piece I'm breaking was a branch from the tree I was wacking.
Incredible. Amazing attention to detail on them. One thing, and I hope you take this the way intended, it scares the living daylights out of me watching you wearing gloves when using your workshop tools. Keep expecting your hands to get pulled in any minute.
The Homestead Craftsman it's all good just don't end up fingerless yourself. you have a major talent and it would sucks if you couldn't do it anymore. anyway enough preaching. great job on the nutcracker and I am following the house redo with interest.
Yeah, you can do just about anything. We still like to maintain a semi traditional look for the most part but we may do fingers in the future, out rat king had fingers! Thanks for watching
You two make a great team and I think the blacksmith was the best one yet. Excellent workmanship, both of you.
In all your videos you make everything look so easy when constructing or building furniture ... owing to your consummate skills. HOWEVER...it was hilarious to see you defeated by the long whippy branch :))) you're human after all ! Thank you for all your uploads. Keep up the good work. Jay
I thought you all might like seeing me get my butt kicked by that branch. Thanks for watching.
Some people are blessed with awesome talent. You are one of these. Merry Christmas
those turned out beautiful your wife and you should be really proud of your craftsmanship. I love all the extra features you put into yours with the hammer and the real looking hair.

This is by far my favorite video that you have ever posted! God bless!
Well that's nice. I also did an article if you did not see it. www.thehomesteadcraftsman.com. It has all the nutcrackers we've made in the video.
One word: WOW! Make that two, my wife says the same. Thanks for sharing.
Well thank you thank you.
Boy, that was a lot of work but the best I've seen.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks, it is quite a bit of work....I like to over do at least one aspect each year, this year it was the hammer.
You truly have a talent and also your wife. Amazing
Thanks
man i tell ya,i have watched countless makers for a long time. I just witnessed the most unbelievable artistic craftmanship ever. you and your wife are amazing. speechless thank you
Thanks, we really enjoyed making it.
Awesome! I like that you have the mouse king in there also. I'm so glad you all made another nutcracker video.
The play is what kicked off the whole thing, here's an article I posted along with the video. www.thehomesteadcraftsman.com
Great work, I think that one looks the best of them all. The wife says he looks crazy! Really like the hammer and anvil detail.
Thanks, they do look a little crazy.....it's the mustache!
This brings back fond memories. I remember the first video of yours I watched which featured your nutcrackers and your (then) girlfriend's (now wife's) smile. These warm my heart.
Thanks Ed

I love your shop, the machines, the tools, the paint supplies, the anvil, the vacuum cleaner, etc. Great videos and beautiful work. Thank you.
That was a really great build! The whole set of them is pretty incredible. And I love the idea of the tradition of coming together to build a project every Christmas. Need to find something like that to do with my wife for Christmas!

Indeed I do, I'll start practicing now and maybe I'll be ready do battle next year.
We look forward to it. ;) You know, for a moment there I was like: What in the world? What's with the red nail polish? Then we realized this was your wife's hand. She is pretty talented too. You will have talented children... in the future that is. ;)

Thanks Shane
If you don't mind me asking... How many hours do you think you had in building this Nutcracker
I don't know, I have never kept up with how long it takes me to make projects like this.
Well done
Thanks
That my friend is an awesome video. Although I about panicked when I thought you had finger nail polish on
You mean you would have a problem with a fella with fancy nails!?..........just kidding.
Commercial's, I have recently stared to watch the commercials from start to finish on all the channels that I like, I just wanted to encourage you guys to do the same if you felt so inclined. Anything I can do to support the channel. Nice video by the way.

Yo quiero uno!!!!!
2:15- aak!! Poison ivy!! Wash your hands! Also, Always loved your videos.
Yeah that tree has it bad, but it's dead now. I cut all the vines at the ground and sprayed them and will continue if it starts to grow back. I steer clear of it....the piece I'm breaking was a branch from the tree I was wacking.

Yeah, gloves are a bad Idea...with that said, I wasn't wearing them long and they are fingerless.
The Homestead Craftsman it's all good just don't end up fingerless yourself. you have a major talent and it would sucks if you couldn't do it anymore. anyway enough preaching. great job on the nutcracker and I am following the house redo with interest.
Good come back! Made me laugh. If I do take them off I'll craft up some nice wooden fingers using my stumps.
I stopped the video to ask why are you whipping that tree? Was it a bad tree? I hear your wife laughing.
I think I was the one being whipped and yes, laughed at.
Manliest branch breaking I've ever seen....
Oh yeah.....
I saw this and I thought: "Why's his fingernail red? did he hurt himself or did he paint his nail? That's weird." Then I realized it was your wife.
Small fingers on the hands would have been nice to see. Either way, great job.
Yeah, you can do just about anything. We still like to maintain a semi traditional look for the most part but we may do fingers in the future, out rat king had fingers! Thanks for watching
Super
6:59 Ow!.......Ow!........Ow!
that's a manly nutcracker
It is.

steve ramsey has nothing on you!
Except for his 700,000 subscribers.........but thank you!

Oh don't be sorry, it's very cute!
