As a 78 year old, I'm happy that we have finally moved on from a one-party state. Competition is always a good thing. May the best team win!

Watching this space. It's clear that a National Dialogue should be speedily implemented to stitch together the glaring holes in this GNU tapestry. I want this to work. We all need this to work. This has been the most emotionally exhausting election ever. I like the weaver bird analogy. But I'm also cognizant of the snakes that are a threat to this new deal. Thanks Mike. Yours is my go-to channel for unbiased narrative.

My views on the blue light security arrangement has changed a little with the new government coming together. These new ministers might be in real trouble now that they are bringing to light all the rot and theft.

The fact that the DA supported the election of SACP Lesufi as premier of Gauteng is to me completely incomprehensible!

It was done in good faith that once it came to putting the provincial cabinet together, it will be done according to the seats earned. Unfortunately appointing the Premier comes first, before the cabinet. In KZN the process was fairly sorted out, l suppose the assumption was Gauteng will do it in a similar way. All trust lost, going to be tuff for Lesufi!!

It is just crazy to have unions keeping the useless in jobs. Unions should help creating jobs not help to destroy the economy. People should be wide awake and stop their membership of those negative unions. Does anybody know what union leaders pocket agianst what their members earn. We as SA Citizens must wake up on this and also the way we vote. Everything we do shoud be to the benefit of SA and specifically the poor.

Clear succinct organized thinking by Khaya. We need more of young South Africans being able to articulate the future. Intelligent analysis

It is a tradgety that the ANC still has so much power, still protecting the cadre's that do nothing to uplift their portfolio.
We can just hope that the opposition ministers will keep close watch on all the old cadre's.

Unfortunately it will cost us as tax payers more because the president wants to not displease any of his comrades and opposition more importantly. He is uneasy about his opposition

How can the DA now push the NPA to prosecute ANC members ?

If you find evedence of criminal activity you onvestigate and prosecute. Stop being a baby grow up.
We all pay tax time that everybody in government is held to the rule of law.

Is our high unemploment an indirect result of Unions who have to much power?

South Africa is a uniquely weird country.
It has boiled down to a bunch of thugs looting the country and still playing the populist race, apartheid and communist cards thirty years after their sell by date.
While the rest of the world is trying to move forward thru technology and globalization South African politicians are stuck trying to resolve issues that have already been resolved three decades ago. It would be bad enough if they kept trying to play the race card, but weren't robbing their own people blind in the process, but the fact that there are a bunch of criminals running the country and blaming their crimes on racism makes it infinitely worse.
Until these corrupt stuck-in-the-mud pseudo-populist politicians are voted out of office, South Africa isn't going to join the rest of the world in the twenty first century

Let's us watch from distance and see what happens in the next two years, but I am optimistic about the deliverables of public good because each party needs to send good statements to its constituency .

You hate EFF and we made peace with that. So can you please keep your opinions about EFF to yourself.
    Thank you.

Then the EFF must keep their opinions to themselves too. They are filled with hate for many people and don't believe in peace as they just want to fight with everybody.

Why should the EFF get special treatment? We talk about all of the parties as part of the analysis of the South African situation.
