My favorite part about this is the fact the girl actually escaped. This isn’t a horror movie thing where the creature spawns out of nowhere and gets her even though she thought it couldn’t anymore. This time, the survivor got a reward for her efforts, the creature is aware it’s over, she’s out of it’s range and it can’t do anything about it but what it can do is find another prey and repeat the process over and over.
Yeah tbh living with the world-shattering trauma this would cause especially if you never heard another word about it in the news or anything would be almost as bad as death.
Love how casual the window scene is. In real life, there's no loud music cues or close ups telling you to be scared, it's the horrifying nature of what's in front of you that tells you something's wrong. Small detail, but I don't see it that often.
Not that I didn't love that scene, but I don't think what you're saying is what happened. There are like two whole musical cues in that scene and only the first moment is silent like that.
I liked that the woman actually survived. A lot of horror media has the protagonist die in the end either because of a cruel twist of fate or just bad luck and I'm getting pretty tired of it.
It's more like that for shorts. If you're spending a lot of time with a character you want them to make it. But if it's a short and no one dies did anything even really happen
Credit to the motel owner, he came right out packing and didn't flinch even when faced with that abomination. I know you hear this a lot, but fantastic work. I remember watching your Midnight Snack a few years back, and I'm happy to see you're still animating, and they just keep getting better. I'll be keeping a much closer eye on your channel from now on.
Something I didn't notice on my original viewing is that the creature has four hands. Two are gripping the head while it walks with the others. Meaning the reason the gunshots to the face didn't kill it is because the head is empty and the creature is waving it around either for fun or as a distraction. It could be that its head is where the pincers are and it walks backward to trick people into not aiming for its weakpoint
@@zomgrocks1 It's just after it jumps on the car. He shoots it in the head and you can see blood run down its face. You might have to play the scene at half speed cause it's over in like half a second
I absolutely love the minor details that bring this to life: the protagonist taking down her ponytail and slipping the hairband on her wrist, or the way the lady with the tablet drops the tablet out of fear when the entity drops its head. Really well done
Literally everything, EVERYTHING about this had me enthralled. From subverting the typical horror trope of the MC "transgressing" in some way to set the horror off to the music and sound effects... GOD it had me. My heart's still racing!
This part 4:12 where the camera moves from the frightened woman to the window is the best in my opinion. Its so subtle and the features of the woman remain distant and undiscernible so that it's hard to say for sure whether she's human or not. But we still see the red around her mouth, her slouching stance and dark eyes and sense that something is horribly off.
Love how we're shown at the end that the monster intentionally pulls the skin on the face back to form a smile, like a naive attempt to fool other people into thinking it's just another person. On top of that, no jumpscares, no standing there and screaming waiting to get killed, no forgetting your keys, no dumb tropes. If people who made horror like this had the budget they deserved, horror would be taken a lot more seriously than it is today.
The only dumb trope in the video is the guy shot and missed the creature then reloads instead of fully reloading his gun before he shot the creature. He started fully reloading his gun when the creature was running around
well people also think that John Wick is a good movie so I am inclined to believe that the average walmart shopper does take horror movies today seriously...you give the average joe too much credit
the fact that there's barely any music in the window scene is such a nice touch to reality cause you don't get a cue whenever a bad thing is going to happen, you have to act fast and rationally or one slip up will get you killed.
I like how the creature isn't actually morphing with the bodies, just holding onto them. The thing's hands were holding the head while keeping the mouth open/smiling.
I really like that despite how terrifying the creature is, it's technically still not unbeatable. It's really freakishly fast, but it takes a surprising amount of time to break through a regular glass window. That also explains why it prefers stealing bodies rather than just outright going aggressive. I think a human could punch through that window in one shot, so arguably we're stronger that this thing, it's just got the advantage of surprise and terror.
You never tried to punch the window out if you think its so easy to do. And you forgot about it having strong claws and pincers. It don't need much strenght because it have strong slashing weapon.
A well-aimed and also very well-timed shot from a good ol' military-grade flamethrower ought to kill that thing. Still won't be easy due to both it's frightening speed and intelligence.
@@januszpolak254 I guess it depends on the window or glass, because usually windows of that size are quite flimsy. I used to cut glass for a hardware store, and those things (especially those sizes) always just broke even when you were just carrying them. I worked with single, double, plexi, and frosted glass. I don't think a motel window would be like double thickness or tempered.
jessomang exactly and I have been missing those monster movies like I wish these were movies with higher budgets but maybe they should use this design since it makes it all the more terrifying
@@Billy82605 best part is they didn't even show how this weird alien thing got here most things give a back story but I like it when they don't makes it scarier because it's just unknown
This made IT Conjuring Insidious Annabelle The Invisible Man Brightburn Child’s play Antlers(Upcoming) And other horror franchises look like movies that would be shown on baby channels like Disney Jr
I LOVE animations that aren’t so “clean” or “3D-like.” This was beautifully drawn/painted! Also LOVE how silent everything is! Please, PLEASE make more!
Ight so I did some research, it's the pale horse of the fourth horseman. Log 1: This bug is closest to an earwig, something that would prefer decaying organic material, but not enough to drop its disguise as it could be eating the flesh as it travels but it doesn't want to wait for stuff to start decaying because it doesn't see them as food yet as it leaves the inn almost immediately after the events of the film. In terms of how it's controlling the bodies, this could be severe spasms it causing as a Costa Rican wasp is able to lay larva in certain spiders that does this, in this case the larva have hosts they don't outgrow and therefore can continue to do so with each new kill, but it leads me to believe it's adapted to this as it walks relatively realistically enough to pass as human and can react with making false reactions with the head, this thing has been here for a fat minute. Something REALLY interesting is its behavior, it displays PREY behavior, as it has a vestigial head (human head) that is shot in the film yet it doesn't react to it (it's carrying the head with smaller hands) that it uses to trick danger into attacking so it could run away, when threatened by the motel owner it displays protean behavior (unpredictable movement) which is common in bugs that hide so it has a higher chance of not being caught when it is found. The thing is though, is that the enviroment this animal would need to come from is absolutely alien (it is extremely invasive due to it being a prey animal), as it would need to be 1. Very very cold 2. Highly enriched in oxygen, meaning it would need to be a freezing yet thick forrest (amazon forrest thick if not thicker) with plenty of rocks, logs, and leaves to hide under so it could survive the tempersture, making me believe that the planet it comes from has stuff that is MASSIVE compared to our world, I'm talking trees the size of mountains, and animals the size of mansions. So just imagine what the fuck eats this thing on a daily basis. Log 2: so due to the fact that this creature would maybe live in large groups if it could, it makes me believe it could be a hive animal like bees or ants, but except of making a nest somewhere safe, they wait for an animal to eat them to BECOME their nest. This fits highly well with their wasp comparablities as well as their behavior, as when a large animal would eat them, they could start to tamper with its behavior, and since with such a large animal, there would be a large amount of decomposing material to allow them to survive until say another large animal starts eating the dead body of their "nest" and the cycle continues, this lifrcycle would fit with their diet as well as explain why in a colder enviroment they wouldn't just freeze to death and be stuck to the underside of rocks for the entirety of their life Log 3: Unofficial name I'm making up for this animal is "Snicker Bug" as to reference its attempt at being discreet with making vestigial heads smile, which I personally find very rude and disrespectful Log 4: something with scares me the most is its hands, they have opposable thumbs. This is typically found in apes and us so they could use tools, so something makes me curious is how smart the snicker bug could be, besides the behavior with the head being bait, opposable thumbs and the possible "hive" behavior with ants and bees, could mean this animal has a higher intelligence which is suggested with the behavior with its disguise in the first place, but also how it seems to be comfortable doing it, it seems second nature to it, which leaves me horrified as if it isn't an alien, then either 1. Fucking hollow earth was real and that's where fucking subartic amazon forrest land is or 2. This thing has adapted to our world over so many generations that it might as well be native, making its behavior almost self learned, and that there are MANY more doing exactly what this one was doing Log 5: I've considered the possibilities that I could be wrong so what the hell could they be, here's just a couple hypothesis: 1. Military experiment for deployment seems unlikely, as while sure it could spook the living hell out of a populace into doing some real superstition shit (which IS a real tactic the USA tried making one place think vampires were real), but other than fear factor there's nothing you couldn't probably do better lethally with a guy with a gun 2. Crazy scientist makes super bug, also unlikely BUT makes more sense than a military experiment as some crazy dude with advanced gene splicing bs could theoretically make something like this if they understood bugs REALLY REALLY well and the motive of being evil scientist is there, but the size of it suggest that either there's no way they could incubate it, or scientist has a sci-fi lab 3. Spiritual or Folklore wise I could find anything, MAYBE skinwalker but I feel like I'm stretching it there but if anyone has some they'd like to add please do Log 6: something is to be said about the actual knowledge the creature has already obtained, it has amazing learning but it's still lacking, it knows to open doors and to knock, but is stopped by glass as it can directly see the food source inside. It also hesitates and dances around the motel owner with the gun as it might be a completely new interaction the bug has with the world, not knowing the exact danger but trying to size it up. It knows to make the face smile but doesn't do much in terms of maintenence with decay or keeping the same body or head together. There's also something to be said about why it's in the forrest as opposed to a urban or city environment, I can only assume from its previous host being a woman in a medical gown that it WAS in an area like that, but found it much more threatening? It doesn't seem scared or injured on its actual body from what I can tell unless someone can find something I missed. Log 7: the woman in the gown really intrigues me now, how did THAT happen? It might asexually reproduce as it abandons the body completely once the woman drives off, again similarly to wasps, leaving the food for the larva, but WHY if that's the case would it not hide the body? Is it that confident a wild bear or some coyotes won't begin to eat the corpse before then? Even ignoring that, it MUST have learned that doors were a thing there, however being in that setting is still confusing because WHY a hospital with DOZENS of people at a time occupying a building instead of some dude in a hoodie out on a walk in the urban area this thing would need to be in order to get to a hospital. Weaker hosts? Still tells me that it has the knowledge that people flock to these buildings despite lacking the knowledge of social interaction above what it observes. With that in mind, how OLD is this particular bug? Is it even an adult? How can it have this much learning capability yet so little genuine knowledge. The biggest thing that intrigues me is when it stops when encountered with the red lights of the car, in a hospital setting, it means that a nurse is working and to not interrupt them, it does respect that BUT WHY? Does it think the "nurse" will come out? Clearly this thing learns from observations, but how much does this thing observe as opposed to getting food. Log 8: the body still confuses me, as much as the woman in the gown, two sets of hands, one for movement and the second smaller pair for heads? Why have THAT specific use for them? Assuming my "corpse hive" theory, it could be for handling and carrying, maybe it feeds itself with those hands since assuming it lives in massive creatures, it would still want to harvest the roof for the hive, the larger hands for grip, and smaller pair for harvest. Even then it COULDN'T have learned its trademarked "snicker" behavior through observations, could it? If it learned from others in its hive then there are some possible theories as its presence here. 1. The hive is on earth and is separated somehow, it would explain the traveling into the forrest as that's where the hive would be, and is more concerned with bringing food back to the hive rather than surviving on its own, meaning many others are around doing the same as a commentor suggested. Or 2. It's a premolted queen looking to make a new hive, possibly at the hotel explaining why it left the bodies there but still travels to gather more food. It would either mean that this is the first of its kind here (unlikely) OR a hive is already so large they're already making new queens Log 9: The woman in the gown has her Achilles tendons attacked, WHY? It's pincer is clearly seen to have sever through the spinal bone in less than a second but it attacked her legs before getting her? I have a theory, it used to be smaller. Earwigs can become fully mature in 2 months, the human body is varied in how long it takes to decompose but assuming a colder temperature as to what the bug is used to it could be 2 weeks? It would explain why it would need a weaker host. They grow quick and big, who's to say this one is even done growing? Do they outgrow their hosts? God knows what they do when their old tricks stop working. Log 10: I've made a stupid question long ago, why would it abandons it's eggs? I already said it, it's to make new ones eat those eggs. It's more widespread than anyone could have guessed, and it's probably too late to do anything now. The entire ecosystem would be assimilated in days, the country weeks, the continent months. The earth has one year, and I hope my math is wrong. Thank you to the people interested in my investigation, please let me know what else I could do at this point, I'm not sure what else I could do unless God gives me the answers. Any and ALL information you can give about the snicker bug is to be reported, a second spent silent is a second spent dead.
Great movie. Fantastic work. I really loved the beginning scene where she stops the car, thinks about her decision, realizes something is off and drives away. Such a realistic moment. I also love how that moment isn't completely out of the ordinary. That is, it is possible to be in that situation, driving down a road to a location and seeing what appears to be a drifter or possibly a person who got lost in the woods etc. Makes it so much more realistic. That entire scene just really captures the human intuition. It's brilliant work.
The real realistic moment would be the woman just drive another 30 miles or so until she sees a small town and rest there. Not in a million years I would settle for a motel in the middle of nowhere while there are apparent drug users walking around bare footed.
@@wzx6x6z6w The thing about horror is that we (as viewers) are seeing it as a horror movie and are obviously suspicious of everything whereas the people in it are (presumably) just living their normal lives. Are you honestly telling me that you have never been in a situation where you decided on something that in retrospect could've gotten you hurt/killed? It's not that unreasonable for a person to go to a model late at night after driving for presumably a few hours, rather than going back home, especially if s/he is already tired. And seeing apparent drug users walking around isn't exactly that uncommon in some of the cities in the USA. But yeah of course, the smartest thing would've been to go all the way home. But regardless, I liked that scene since she didn't do the extremely idiotic thing.
Have you ever bothered to stop the vid at every frame of the jumpscares of David Romero and just pay attention to the amount of details the man drew? Absolute GOAT.
SPOILERS BELOW: Can we take a moment to appreciate the characters in this short? They're smarter than the other 95% of horror film characters, I mean the woman with red hair bolts as soon as the head falls off, the protagonist immediately snatches her keys and goes out the back window, and the owner of the inn actually goes out of his way to protect his customers! All of this conveyed without a single word! It's just, I'm shocked with how good this is! I fell in love with each character by their actions alone, was sad that any of them perished. I don't feel that often if ever in horror media. EDIT: Yikes, okay guys I get it. Not everything they did were smart, in fact they did plenty of dumb things like you said. I'm just saying they did a lot of things smarter than the movies/ other horror media. Let's try to calm it down a tad, didn't mean to get people so upset.
@@presidentbruh401 Cheers to you m8, I don't know how OP considered her "smart" when her first instinct was to turn on the lights while sleeping with blinds open.
@@kappa_oasis Dude it was dark the first instinct is to open the lights and have visual of your surroundings when hearing a noise especially after just waking up from a scream(she could've conked out the moment she hit the pillow). @@covenant_mog05 so I guess only a fictional character like 'John Wick' would close the blinds immediately they walk into a strange room in the middle of nowhere, and lay low and not draw attention to themselves when their sleep is interrupted by a piercing scream in the dead of night.. or maybe you have had a good life in relative safety and I envy you a great deal.

100% agree. This creature in particular is absolute fascinating and terrifying. I’d be interested to find out where it came from, what it’s life cycle is, if there are more of them. Hopefully he makes a series!
La criatura usara al conductor del final para perseguir a la chica que escapo, basicamente no permitirá que la chica haya tenido la experiencia y vivido para contarlo.
IM here from coryxkenshin but seroiusly this HAS to be one of the scariest things from the animation to the style that you told the story the way did this had emerced the story you did awesome on this and I love it keep up the great work
Here's what I think whatever that thing is: It appears to be a slug/human/scorpion like creature, it does show intelligence due to it camouflaging itself and being able to at least turn a door knob, as well as knowing that guns are dangerous as it evades the gunfire, possibly due to the creature already sustaining an injury from a gun (I'll get into that in a second). Some of the comments say that this creature was a lab experiment gone wrong, and I completely agree, due to the first body having hospital clothes on. Back to the gunshot, I think that this creature is looking for a head to replace its own, I believe that the creature's head was blown off and it originally had a human like head with eyes like a slug's, I believe this due to it's everlasting hunt for a head, I believe that it uses the head as a replacement but replaces the eyes with it's slug like eyes. I believe it is killable, with enough fire power it could be killed, the only problem is it's speed, it makes Usain Bolt look like a turtle. Edit: I also think it has had a human like head in the past due to it knowing how to smile, it has probably never observed a human smile as their usually screaming in fear.
It’s based off an earwig from just looking at the pincers. Who knows if that’s even its first body that could be its 30th but somehow it ended up on that road. And every time someone stops it sees that red light practically ringing the dinner bell so it walks and walks until it finds them, kills them and then uses their corpse as a replacement then walks until someone stops again 😬 really eeerie when you think about it
Excellent animation, perfect amount of movement and detail for spooky/important parts, another reason why I keep my Glock with multiple flashlights on me at all times lmao
This is why a shotgun is an important defensive tool. Should a hostile worm-like bodysnatcher accost you, it's Agility may be too much for a Pistol to accurately handle. #4 buckshot is much more reliable for these types of moving targets. 00 Buck would probably work too, but you want the most pellets you can possibly get for a creature like this, where every shell could be the difference between you being a hero, or another host for the creature. I think the most reliable load for a monster of this type would be Steel Birdshot. Unless the monster moves faster than the eye can see, you're bound to hit it if you aim ahead of it's movements. Remember this! It could save your life one day.
@@SympatheticStrawmanVA car gasoline and molotov cocktails can really help, since you are surrounded by shield fire, and the creature cant move where it once was, leading it to run out of positions or get burned
I like the subtle subversion of expectations. When we see the first victim in the video, the design makes you think it's a stereotypical female ghost with a white dress.
Nobody is talking about the girl she stopped for with the scratches she looked like she was in a hospital because of her clothes ethier that or she was a test experiment for this creature I think after the test experiment the creature escaped and is now wandering looking for another host
It was the first thing that I’ve noticed and I was thinking of stuff that could have happened prior to the short film. I really hope for some type of prequel on how this creature came to be.
Imagine the setting of where it would take place. A huge lab out in the woods. This creature they tried to create goes berserk. It starts slaughtering the scientist. I can picture a scene where a scientist is down a hall and sees a person but his glasses are dirty and his vision isn’t great. He takes off his glasses to clean them and puts them back on only to see that it’s not a person that he sees, but the creature. I can also picture how the last scene would go down. The original woman that the creature was using was actually a person to be experimented on in the lab. But due to the creature going berserk, she finds an opportunity to escape the facility into the woods. She’s lost and doesn’t know where to go. Luckily, she spots one of the scientist that probably escaped as well. She walks up to the scientist and taps their shoulder. As the scientist turns around, it reveals that the scientist is actually the creature and a jump scare happens. Then, the screen turns black. Suddenly, it cuts to a scene where it shows the woman’s legs as she walks down the side of the road. The screen then cuts to her face showing us that it’s the creature as well as faint headlights showing behind her leading to the first scene in this video. The end. Would you look at that, I just made my own prequel! XD I hope he sees this one day and gets inspired/motivated to make a prequel.
Yo I'm genuinely surprised this dosent have the recognition it deserves. This animation is clean and the horror aspect of it kept me enthralled with fear. The animation even supports the horror as well! I give this a 10/10, this video needs more love, and this UA-camr with his amazing animation style.
Imagine having something stolen from you and then for the extra gut punch they claim it was ai. I would actually implode. Hope the experience didn't discourage you at all from making more animations, your work is amazing.
The art is amazing. I like that there was no "jumpscare noise"---the normal quiet of it all made it that much realistic and scarier. This was rly damn good!
It reminded me of how scary it was seeing the infected break into a building in one scene in the beginning of "28 Days Later", it was completely silent and made the scene that much more scary becuz we the audience see them coming without a signal
4:40 reason the Motel owner didn't flinch to the monster was because it was Gordon Freeman in an alternate universe. Had his bravery, but not his fighting skills unfortunately

More people need to see this. I REALLY wish horror movies took fucking note, because THIS is how you make a horror movie. Tense, horrifying and exciting to watch. Seriously, you NEED to be hired as a director or some shit.
I don't think this format would work for multi hour long horror movies and it doesn't make sense to hire someone that makes shorts to make a feature length
I love all your stuff. But this one was by far my favourite thing you've put out so far. I love everything about it from the art to the ambience, to the way things move and sound. As an animator myself I would really love to see a making of or a breakdown of some sort. I don't know if it would be feasible for you to do that, but just hearing your thoughts on the production process would be really great. Can't wait to see what you do next.
I've gotta say, even though I've just came from Kubz Scouts video, that this is some actual good stuff man. It's a refresher from other horror medias that don't really follow a unique style like this. It actually made me a bit spooked. So dang glad that you managed to get it back.
Motels already scare me enough as-is, but this!? This makes me shudder uncontrollably, just an all encompassing unease seeps through me. It’s just so unsettling. Absolutely fantastic work!
When compared to Other Lily (which is still good), you've come a long way. You seemed to always have an eye for backgrounds and lighting, all that needed to be better was character motion (and or design?); which both have improved greatly. You are truly a unique voice in horror media, not to mention animation. If you read this, keep up the great work.
Came from Kubzscouts!!! Just wanted to say im so glad you got your work back! Its utterly pathetic that someone would steal someone else’s work. I hope that anyone else affected with this and the false claims gets the justice they deserve. UA-cam really needs to step up their game.
...Whelp, that thing is creepy! You're definitely an inspiration for my own spooky/creepy art. I love how fluid the animation is in the right places (and having the creepy jerking/stillness in all the right places too)! ^^
Here is what I think the monster is all about This creature is pretty smart by how it looks. You wouldn't wanna encounter it, because this thing would follow you across the earth until you were caught. It finds a target, then takes off the original head it uses and also uses its 'spikes' to decapitate you or just uses a blade/their hands. The thing climbs out of its last victims body and climbs in the newer, fresher one. It takes its form and puts on the head or skin of the victim. After that, it finds more victims to kill, basically disguising itself more so it wouldn't drive the victim off from fright. If the thing has no body, it could move at speeds where you couldn't run away from. This thing is pretty terrifying, Nobody knows how to actually kill it correctly, but I think you'd have to use a melee weapon or a gun. Slice it up, smash its head in, or shoot it a few times until your ammo is depleted. Thats all I know about this alien thing.
Well It could be easily shot considering how the guy missed his shot. But another scary thing is that the alien has emotion. At the end it smiles because it knows it's gonna get what it wants

I liked that the woman actually survived. A lot of horror media has the protagonist die in the end either because of a cruel twist of fate or just bad luck and I'm getting pretty tired of it.

She was lucky to survive.
SAME. The death at the end is as predictable as the protagonist of a hero movie surviving.
Or simply cuss they want to give a bad ending even when the protagonist should have escaped and lived
So I guess a shotgun with buckshot or a flamethrower is the only way to kill the creature.
I thought the gunshots didn’t land though? Didn’t he miss all the shots because it’s moving too fast?

Love how we're shown at the end that the monster intentionally pulls the skin on the face back to form a smile, like a naive attempt to fool other people into thinking it's just another person.
On top of that, no jumpscares, no standing there and screaming waiting to get killed, no forgetting your keys, no dumb tropes. If people who made horror like this had the budget they deserved, horror would be taken a lot more seriously than it is today.

Just Emojis aye surprise that the original video only had 11k views since it’s an amazing horror short
Just Emojis just finished watching that vid of Cory reacting!
This fits highly well with their wasp comparablities as well as their behavior, as when a large animal would eat them, they could start to tamper with its behavior, and since with such a large animal, there would be a large amount of decomposing material to allow them to survive until say another large animal starts eating the dead body of their "nest" and the cycle continues, this lifrcycle would fit with their diet as well as explain why in a colder enviroment they wouldn't just freeze to death and be stuck to the underside of rocks for the entirety of their life
Log 3: Unofficial name I'm making up for this animal is "Snicker Bug" as to reference its attempt at being discreet with making vestigial heads smile, which I personally find very rude and disrespectful
Log 4: something with scares me the most is its hands, they have opposable thumbs. This thing has adapted to our world over so many generations that it might as well be native, making its behavior almost self learned, and that there are MANY more doing exactly what this one was doing
Log 5: I've considered the possibilities that I could be wrong so what the hell could they be, here's just a couple hypothesis:
1. Military experiment for deployment seems unlikely, as while sure it could spook the living hell out of a populace into doing some real superstition shit (which IS a real tactic the USA tried making one place think vampires were real), but other than fear factor there's nothing you couldn't probably do better lethally with a guy with a gun
2. Crazy scientist makes super bug, also unlikely BUT makes more sense than a military experiment as some crazy dude with advanced gene splicing bs could theoretically make something like this if they understood bugs REALLY REALLY well and the motive of being evil scientist is there, but the size of it suggest that either there's no way they could incubate it, or scientist has a sci-fi lab
3. Spiritual or Folklore wise I could find anything, MAYBE skinwalker but I feel like I'm stretching it there but if anyone has some they'd like to add please do
Log 6: something is to be said about the actual knowledge the creature has already obtained, it has amazing learning but it's still lacking, it knows to open doors and to knock, but is stopped by glass as it can directly see the food source inside.
Or
2. It's a premolted queen looking to make a new hive, possibly at the hotel explaining why it left the bodies there but still travels to gather more food. It would either mean that this is the first of its kind here (unlikely) OR a hive is already so large they're already making new queens
Log 9: The woman in the gown has her Achilles tendons attacked, WHY?

Here's what I think whatever that thing is:
It appears to be a slug/human/scorpion like creature, it does show intelligence due to it camouflaging itself and being able to at least turn a door knob, as well as knowing that guns are dangerous as it evades the gunfire, possibly due to the creature already sustaining an injury from a gun (I'll get into that in a second).

Hmmm interestingg
I love your theories. You actually have attention to detail and I appreciate you for it.
It was the first thing that I’ve noticed and I was thinking of stuff that could have happened prior to the short film. I really hope for some type of prequel on how this creature came to be.
Had to have been that way for a while too. The first host's head was long since dead and rotted
XD
I hope he sees this one day and gets inspired/motivated to make a prequel.

Came from his channel too
Me
Me also xD
Yep
SpeedySnake YEERRRR
Yo I'm genuinely surprised this dosent have the recognition it deserves. This animation is clean and the horror aspect of it kept me enthralled with fear. The animation even supports the horror as well! I give this a 10/10, this video needs more love, and this UA-camr with his amazing animation style.
Had to come back to watch this again, so glad to back up
I love the detail of how you can see her reflection in the mirror 2:31
This was horrifying. This has been the only animation to make me wanna hide under my covers.
4:24 Christ alive, it looks like some enemy out of Dead Space!
"ah Hello Gordon Freeman it's good to see you again"
I wanna see an opposing force equivalent of this animation
Rise and shine Mr Freeman, Rise and shine...
3:35 for some reason the way the monster stood, made me think it was about to draw a revolver and declare a duel
The good, the bad and the monster
thank god it's back!! i'm so sorry, you really didn't deserve this. i can't imagine how stressful this must've been :( i'm a huge fan of your work, i really hope this never happens to you again ♡
4:48 Poor guy never had a chance, he shot the thing point blank on its heads and it barely even phased it.
You lowkey fell off I remember when people used to care abt you commenting
@@joebananas3262fr bro was the GOAT of yt comments
Yoo what, I haven't seen one of your comments in ages.
Yoo what, I haven't seen one of your comments in a hot minute.
Yo, i was genuinely so shocked this even happened in the first place. When i saw Jay's video, i was like what?? I remember watching this after he reacted to this back in 2022! Glad its getting finally resolved. THROW HANDS WITH UA-cam AND THAT THIEVING LOSER!!
came here from cory :>
it’s so beautifully animated,,
Me too
Me to, me too, this is probably the scariest spooky scary sunday video ever ;-;
Shak Shal i agree with you this is so creepy (Especially when it stood in front of the window 💀)
@@Fate863 o man that was creepy
congrats on getting it back!!
More people need to see this. I REALLY wish horror movies took fucking note, because THIS is how you make a horror movie. Tense, horrifying and exciting to watch. Seriously, you NEED to be hired as a director or some shit.
Frr and animated horror is so underrated
I don't think this format would work for multi hour long horror movies and it doesn't make sense to hire someone that makes shorts to make a feature length
you spoke the truth
It's a 7 min short. It's good but, to say he NEEDS to be a director. People are so extreme lol.
David Romero: works his best and buts his soul into his work
Cory: look at em humpin the glass
I love all your stuff. But this one was by far my favourite thing you've put out so far. I love everything about it from the art to the ambience, to the way things move and sound. As an animator myself I would really love to see a making of or a breakdown of some sort. I don't know if it would be feasible for you to do that, but just hearing your thoughts on the production process would be really great. Can't wait to see what you do next.
Jay is seriously THAT DUDE! Congrats on getting your work back from that fraud. I hope everything goes well from you man
I've gotta say, even though I've just came from Kubz Scouts video, that this is some actual good stuff man. It's a refresher from other horror medias that don't really follow a unique style like this. It actually made me a bit spooked. So dang glad that you managed to get it back.
JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED LETS GO JAY! im coming from Kubz Scouts as well
Someone should provide this for coryxkenshin spooky scary Sunday
Yeromar Martell you’re from the future

Motels already scare me enough as-is, but this!? This makes me shudder uncontrollably, just an all encompassing unease seeps through me. It’s just so unsettling. Absolutely fantastic work!
When compared to Other Lily (which is still good), you've come a long way. You seemed to always have an eye for backgrounds and lighting, all that needed to be better was character motion (and or design?); which both have improved greatly. You are truly a unique voice in horror media, not to mention animation. If you read this, keep up the great work.
OMG OTHER LILY I REMEMBER THAT ANIMATION DUDE
@@Alex-cv5vp same ;3
Is it really the same guy that animated both? I never noticed
It is not the same creator
@@flixovania1697 wdym. Both are literally on his channel.
OH MY GOD IM SO GLAD ITS BACK UPPP
Came from Kubzscouts!!! Just wanted to say im so glad you got your work back! Its utterly pathetic that someone would steal someone else’s work. I hope that anyone else affected with this and the false claims gets the justice they deserve. UA-cam really needs to step up their game.
Came from Kubz and sending lots of love. Im so glad its back up. ❤❤
IT'S BACK! LET'S GOOOOO!!!
THAT DUDE did it!
came here from jay's video, W community
JAY IS THAT DUDE
WE’RE BACK BOIIIS!!!! Congrats 🥳!!!!
...Whelp, that thing is creepy! You're definitely an inspiration for my own spooky/creepy art. I love how fluid the animation is in the right places (and having the creepy jerking/stillness in all the right places too)! ^^
What the actual fuuf do you mean by creepy jerking? 💀
@@The_B10ckbu2ter
The term jerking can also mean sudden movement, definitely not the same kind of jerking you're thinking of.
I’m glad Jay backed you up and you got your film back David. you’re awesome and keep up the good work!
I have a specific fear of seeing faces/figures in windows when it's pitch black outside and this really amped up that fear for me.
Yea my brother was looking threw my window and I just freaked out lol
Here is what I think the monster is all about
This creature is pretty smart by how it looks.
Kill it with fire.
@@bananafone1414 Oh damn, that's true. Its even smiling when it takes the orange haired girl's body.
@@bananafone1414 I believe he hit it once
@Deez Ballz you can see an extra pair of hands holding the head and pretty much using it as a puppet. Really fucking creepy
Saw jays vid, CONGRATS ON GETTING IT BACK!!!!

I really love creepy animations, movies, short movies like this. And they all give me a satisfying aftermath. But this one, this animation give every spine of my body a trembling cold. I just hope this won't give me nightmares
