scientists keep promising new and improved battery tech is around the corner. lots of promising stuff but nothing that has made it into the markets yet. my bets are that it will happen soon though.
I don't know who's going to buy this thing, plus where you are going to use it anyway. If you live on the bay area travel from San Fran To Oak, I say it's just not safe.
hey Kevin! i think this is aimed at folks who buy luxury vehicles for sport and fun. would definitely be cool to go around SF with one of these though. way better than a kayak haha
that's a good point... if you drive it away from shore until the battery is dead you're definitely going to be in for a long swim. this is not recommended :)
R Zu it does have positive buoyancy but if you sit on it while it’s in the water it will sink if it’s not moving... but ya I think a life vest is definitely a good idea just to be safe
They should have named it the Tiger Shark Troller.... They could sell them to all of the oceoceanfront resorts here in Hawaii. It would greatly reduce the abundance of obnoxious, disrespectful tourists that invade our islands like locusts. 🦈
I was stoked until I saw how much effort they take. Isn't it also a bit underpowered? A lot of e bikes are getting up over 1000wh and are lighter with less resistance than the Manta5.
Pretty cool that they made it relatively light considering it has a 22 aH battery. I saw another video of a pretty old dood carrying the bike like it’s nothing. Now my old Stealth Electric Bomber...bike was 100 pounds! Or even my esk8s were super heavy.
ya honestly i think that would make a lot of sense and i think a lot of people would be interested in that. hopefully that’s something they’ll consider because i’d love to see these at Folsom Lake
"a 460 watt motor" LOL I was naïve enough to think it was human powered.
Very cool piece of kit on my list for 2021.
$9k for something that can only ride for 16 minutes at a time? That’s an issue :/

That's what I was thinking as well, but then he said and I'm paraphrasing," you don't wanna be 40 minutes out on the water and the battery dies."

If it just for fun, Renting should be a choice.

Kevin Zhao now that would be cool. we’re near Folsom Lake in California and taking these out to a solitary island would be awesome
@@electrifiedreviews Hey Brent I had in my mind, I'm not sure if it's possible to travel from San Fran to Alcatraz, It's probably illegal.
Kevin Zhao hmm I’m not sure. i know you can get to some cool places by boat though
Damn, it must be really cold since it is necessary to wear a knittet hat indoor.
it’s only a knitted hat if you’re on a sailboat... otherwise it’s cool to just call it a beanie
Mr shark : we got new menu on the list
Crazy device. cool idea ... I think I like kayaks a little more.
haha kayaks are pretty fun too. used to hit the class 4 rapids on the American River but haven't been in a while. really miss it.
That's too crazy but pretty cool, it looks fun to do.
ya it definitely looks like it would be a new experience. and good to see you again Olga!
Great Idea, You can get stranded out in the middle of the Ocean maybe sink or swim for just 7 Large, I can hardly restrain the excitement!

They look cool to me man👍👍💯😁
Racer X! very cool indeed and glad to see ya back!
Can I travel from Africa to The USA
are you going to do a video of you testing it
hopefully the next time they’re local... or maybe we’ll just have a take a trip to New Zealand to see it in person :)
@@electrifiedreviews that would be a cool video
film wreck it’s probably impossible not to get good footage of New Zealand haha
@@electrifiedreviews exactly
Woah!
pretty dope right? and good to see you as always XC!
@@electrifiedreviews yea it is!!
Life jacket should come with it.
not a bad idea at all!
pedro fernandez Especially when you get tired of pedaling and it sinks!

Keren banget
I wouldn't buy one if it was $1000 USD. It's a seasonal toy.
Don't stop pedalling! Esp if you can't swim.
Papas is a Criminal.
This isn't really a review, more like a showreel?
We indians want to see it in Olympics.

Shaddap and take my money!
haha! good to see you James :)
For that price I'd go get a jet ski. No brainer. No Thanks.
So Jesus had one of these? xD
not sure but i bet he woulda brrrapped if he did

Sell this deathtrap to greta thunberg for the next time she needs to cross the ocean without any poluting floating or flying devices. XD jk
what’s a thunberg? 😬
@@electrifiedreviews ehm a very interesting persona related to climate change. She mostly causes it but blames other people for it. Haha jk
Job91 ok good to know haha

16 minutes of ride time. So don't get 8 minutes away from land. I'LL PASS BUT THANKS.
Yeah, it's a bold start. Wait til Elon/TSLA start mass producing their new supercells and this thing will fly!
16 minutes???? And this is with pedaling.. wtf?
Woah that’s insane! Ive never seen anything like this lol
Aaron! what’s good buddy! and seriously. it’s definitely a unique bird.
when tired of paddling, people will drown in the sea or river
Can you rent these ?
WOOOOOOOOOOW!
:P)
Very very cool!
Could see these more as something a business would buy a dozen of to rent out at vacation destinations

James Read haha deal!
For 16 minutes each time?
where can i buy those skateboards behind you?
hey al! we’ve reviewed most of them here and you can find links to purchase them in our reviews. enjoy!
Negative buoyancy is a BAD idea.
agree! thankfully this has positive buoyancy so it won’t sink
well... this was interesting
haha definitely different. and good to see ya MB :)
Cool
😎✌🏼
