The story of a beautiful man, showing his greatest creations and how they stand the test of time, before being attacked by the spiked trap of society for his "disgusting creations" and quickly, he begins to believe this, with his mind creating society as a horrid beast, that sprouts into a corrupt tree, made to trap anyone that Is different. But then, a flower blooms, and he is reminded that being different, is better than being the same, and slowly his mind returns to its once beautiful state
I really appreaciated Reading that
@@island_kevvasmr5922 thank you! Dilly is a big inspiration but i cant really draw, so i use my mind to give my own meanings to his works

this is why i love John Dilworth..
he just continuously surprises me with his amazing works
The love you put in your art gives it life
On a whim I looked up what the creator of Courage the Cowardly Dog was doing after the show's end, and I find this. I'm ecstatic to see you expressing your art unfiltered and am happy I discovered this, albeit late. Thank you for continuing to create!
Me too! I'm watching Courage again, haven't watched since I was kid. I always loved the stories... So unique, creepy, and beautiful! I can't wait to watch more of these videos ❤️💚💛🧡💜🖤
John, I grew up watching what you made with my grandma. It inspired my art, my humor and even my voice. Even named my dog Courage. Looking at this... I never knew you had a youtube channel. I never even knew who you were until not 30 minutes ago. I want to apologize for not ever appreciating your other work before watching this.
You and Adam Adamowicz, man.... My inspirations in life.
John R Dilworth is one of the best animators i've ever seen. Please make more things!!!!!!! We need you man
I can't explain what courage meant in my life when i was little, i remember even dreaming with the show, i just love every thing about it, i still watch it. (Sorry if my english isn't perfect) love you John
It is beyond me how anyone can create something so perfect. You and your team did an amazing job on this. I can't even say how many times I've watched it.
Beautiful and a reminder to all artists no matter how negative people view your work, don’t let that negativity destroy the beauty within you! Keep creating and keep at it! One day, your art will shine brighter than the sun!
I'm still watching the old episodes of Courage the Cowardly dog 😭😭😭😔😔😢😢🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💕💕💖💖💕💕💗💗💕💕💙💙💞💟💕
The ART OF JOHN DILLWORTH reminds me when i was still eight years old living in my grandparents house watching courage the cowardly dog❤
If only Salvador Dali were alive today and saw this, I know he'd especially appreciate this for its surrealism.
Nobody brings up how awesome the music is, in the background, and it scares me,
When I think of Stretch Films, this is the definitive thing that comes in my head and fully represents everything they are about. I get emotional every time I see it because it’s a deep dive artistically with Johns life as a creator. The warm slow smile at the end makes me cry every time.
Grotesque and beautiful. Thank you Dilworth. Marvelous.
My favorite part about this is the music.
So close to tearing up, I understand your works by judging how much love and pieces of your soul you put into it, god bless you sir 😭
John is artistically enlightened. :) Thank you for this. 💜🌼🎶
I sense some elements of pain in here. Who hurt you, Mr Dilworth?
Finding this at the end the year gives me hope of my depression and makes me want to keep working on my games and dreams. Just thank you
Never surrender!
You're a genious or my name is Eustace, AND IT'S NOT!
This film really explains the past 3 years of my life in vivid detail. Im impressed.
Knew this was the creator of Courage when I saw that empty landscape. Never recognized it was so iconic until now.
the ending made me smile when the character smiled
Happy birthday, Mr. Dilworth!
That was gorgeous. Love the music. It was so beautiful :')
This is one of the most beautiful animated shorts out there.
Share the love
You're such a cool guy, Dilly.
I am not familiar with his other work as of yet.
But the art-style, music, and stories in the universe of courage the cowardly dog.
John created something really special here.
If i ever decide to have children of my own, i will show them this interesting world.
no words... just... this is amazing..

The Gerald Scarfe-like way things morph into other things is so mesmerizing
Simply beautiful.
Such beautiful art.. You're a hidden diamond.
Even Dali couldn't understand this weirdness
Proof enough that animation is art, as Hayao Miakazki and Walt Disney always said.
HM!!
This video really inspired me in life while I was going through some tough times. I have always been a fan of your work, John. "The struggle is worth it" but again, do not lose that hope. Maybe you will find something to keep you going for your goosey adventure and you, and the fans can have that relaxation moment for a while. That's life isn't it?
I'm definetely speechless. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your art.
Good morning! First and foremost I am absolutely stunned by your phenomenal talent, Mister Dilworth! I always was, since the very first seeing your pieces of art. I am also absolutely flabbergasted by the ubiquitous enthusiasm spreading from you - it is so pleasant to see a person with such humongous inventiveness in mind! Now, when I discovered your UA-cam channel I really look forward to seeing some updates from processes of creating new masterwork stuff. Also, I would like to wish you all the best for now and the future, you deserve the World. :)
Greetings from Poland! :)
Have a blissful day,
Pola. :D
Dilworth influences: Dali, Magritte, Giorgio Di Chirico. Very surrealistic. A beautiful work of art!!!!!!!
it's .... it's so beautifull , couldn't hold my tears in
I need more material from you in my life. You made the best cartoon ever, Courage. And honestly I consider you as a great artist. I don't know if I want more courage cuz I think it's done, but im definitely looking forward to your future content if you're making it happen.

It's an incredible shame this man doesn't get the attention he deserves.
That was intense.
0:28 that dog on the left look kinda like Courage ( Courage The Cowardly Dog )
Yes, I smudged the character to avoid censors!

I love you, John.
Masami Tomihisa did a great job on the music!
This is so beautiful and fluid. Its a weird mash of Dilworth and Dali which shall be henceforth known as "Dili" or "Dalworth"
Dilly-Dally
Dad, Oh, sweet daddy John R. Dilworth.
it’s about surrealism he based it on his own life
this hit different on shrooms
Man love u since my childhood, i've courage tattooed on my skin
ART
This is, ¡¡¡TRUE ART!!!
This was very beautiful
I love courage of cawordly dog and missing my childhood
Pure genius.
0:28 Courage's color is different. Is this how you originally imagined it?
No it's because courage is owned by Cartoon Network and can't look like the original in this animation film .
el mejor creador y de dibujos
i just love this thank you for making this ♥️
John Dilworth do you ever miss the old days for nostalgic reasons or its better to look forward into the future?
John is one of the most imaginative minds out there. With works like this and courage. Fuck i miss courage.
This short deserves an OSCAR , so hauntingly beautiful
Snubbed!
hey stretch films unmake this it looks like a drug trip and a hallucination with weird and file for bankruptcy after that and it then becomes Lost media and kill John dilworth
This was very beautiful
Dilworth is an absurdly underrated cartoonist. He's not as prolific as a Bakshi or a Williams, but he's never once drawn a boring or bland cartoon in his entire career.
I always wondered what a surreal painting would look like if it could move.
Thanks for answering that question for me. This was spectacular.
Took the words right out of my mouth
It's like a dali painting that moves... i used to be scared of this animation as a kid but now i appreciate it
Just like courage too
Anyone ever wonder what Salvador Dali’s work would look like animated? This is it
A better example would be the Disney short "Destino" which actually started production as a collab with Salvador Dali in the 40s before finally being completed in the 2000s
Dont compare this two
This is more than a work of art, this is a gift by a GOD of animation! You're the best, John R. Dilworth.
You're righttttttttt
Right 👍
I can definitely see the Dali influence on your work.
"So how did you make this beautiful piece of artwork Mr. Dilly?"
"WITH A PENCIL!"
Who are here in 2021 to see this video :>
While life goes on, there's always the chance to change who you are and still be yourself. That's the miracle of this existence. Lovely.
Beautiful film, John. Keep up the good work!
Litteraly im crying.. this was posted 11 years back im watching it in 2021 and still such an amazing artist just have 24k support...... 😥😢😢 Ppl create shit content and get million fans but such real artists are downgraded... Hats off to you sir for making our childhood memorable...❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yeah dude i agree
It was a normal day in Nowhere, Kansas.
Me too. Seems like a magical place.
Please I too count me in. I love nowhere and I love courage's home
My life is a sea of thorns and I hope it turns into a field of flowers soon. I guess it is possible.
It is possible. It is...
