Howdy, Brother! The invitation is still (aways) open. If you and your Dad are ever in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for a craft fair (or whatever), please consider parking all your trucks/trailers and stuff at my place and staying as long as you need. All the food, drink and everything is on-the-house! Y’all have done so much for me and the woodworking community, it’s the least I can do. My door is away open. My wife and I would be honored! By the way, another great video.
This was a great tutorial of sorts, I get there is more involved in it but a great outline. Thanks for taking the time to film and edit this, it is like 2 full time gigs you are doing here.
Wow. I’ve actually just started milling 2 x wood for a trestle lathe stand for my Jet 1221VS. This could not have come at a better time. I’ve been looking at trestle designs on the web for a couple weeks now, and I made a design-and then your vid popped up on my subscription feed. Thanks so much!
Good idea with the pegs, to keep the lathe stationary. Just an FYI, that model has threaded holes on the underside; bolts install from under the table top, into the lathe.
Just want to let you know that learned woodworking on UA-cam and learned so many things from you.. Now I have my woodworking channel and just reached 100k subs benchmark. Thank you... Alaa / Egypt
I finally finished mine last week and despite the horrendous joints, she appears to be pretty darn sturdy. It’s going to do a nice job of holding my Excelsior mini lathe while I learn to turn. I wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge and giving me the confidence to make an attempt at something like this.
A few weeks ago i was looking for a video exactly like this. I ended up googling mini lathe stand and just building one that looked like what was on the market.
Thank you for another great video. Any idea when you'll have some more carving mallets in stock? I lost all my tools in hurricane Laura (second time in 3 years), finally in a new place and not living with someone else, and am looking to restock my tools.
Just looked on Rockler they have a set of 4 but only 2 lock. Is that the set you used. (4'' Rubber Caster Set, 155-lbs./Caster, (2 Swivel, 2 Swivel w/Total Lock Brake))

Thanks for sharing. After watching this it has inspired me to make a similar one for my mini lathe.
Thanks for sharing those tips and the make!
Good work man, have some engagement
Great video; life has made me kind of lopsided; it's cool.

I’d been wondering if I had missed a video and if everything was ok. It is nice to see your video!
It’s 1-2 hrs of work for 1 minute of video. Some take longer than others.
Great video! I got the same lathe and there is 4 treaded holes under the lathe for bolting it.
Cheers
Very naic good
Thank you for another great video.

That jet lathe has threads for machine screws to bolt it down. One under each corner.
GE everyone this is Dave Richmond, Indiana

...plans for this one?...
How many lathes U got there? I count at least four.
Mini for art markets, Midi for demonstrations, I use a OneWay, Dad uses a Robust. No excess here.
Your videos are great! I am a beginner. I just order the Jet 1221VS using your Amazon link. What chisel set do you recommend? Thanks, Wayne
I'm partial to Thomson Tool Steel.
My brain is convinced that the trash can is one of those huge 32 gallon types and you’re a 12 ft giant.
The only thing topping that beautiful trestle table is your skillful teaching! And as any proper teacher, your electronics don't work 😂
Oh, feeling cute today, maybe I'll become a patron later. IDK. (Whoop, I already did! Eh ... become a patron!)
