It’s just so fitting that when you get the 86 rolling for the first time all you can see is a Guinness and juicebox hoodie🇮🇪 I’m sure there is a very happy man in Waterford right about now
You should extend the loft over the bathroom entrance and make stairs up like the old shop so there is more storage space and easy access to the storage and Austin can go up there for cinematics maybe?
Jimmy, next time your in ireland try to organise to see some of the top spec ae86 rally cars, most of them use brakes so big you cant fit smaller than a 15 inch wheel, they also run a similar power level as you are aiming for, 300 to 350 bhp, our k20 mk2 escort is 290 bhp and runs maaahoosive brakes at 800kg/ around 1500lbs, they are needed
@@tylerreed7385 It's just Hello Fresh but with a different name, It's even owned by Hello Fresh, It's expensive as shit considering it's single serve meals.
add a 2x10 behind the brackets that you can land into studs or something solid then attach the L-Brackets to that to add strength. Or longer screws for the drywall anchors because that's why the first one pulled out, although those anchors are always shit anyways. Toggle bolts are another option for anchoring the brackets.
Guys, on calipers with bleed screws on all 4 corners, you need to pay attention on the position of the bigger piston. The smaller piston goes first in the direction of rotation, so up in this case
I wouldn't normally say this, but order some of the super sized 96gal clear garbage bags for putting overtop of those seats in storage. You can still see which seat it is in the bag but keep em fresh.
Hey Jimmy, I run the same brakes on my ae86 wich I use for Sprintraces. Perfect size for a 900kg car. Never had any brakefading and performance is much better than stock.
12:19 That style bearing should NEVER be more than finger tight unless the service manual gives a spec. Best way, after seating everything, is to do it finger tight and see how the hole for the cotter pin lines up. If it lines up, then install and send it. If it doesn't, then loosen the nut until it does, then install and send it. There will be a small amount of noticeable play once the wheel is installed, this is normal.
TAKE MY WORD ON THIS ..... The 86 rear end is just like the 3rd gen Celica solid axle rear end , I found out the hard way you can NOT weld the diff. BUT you can use a "spool" instead of welding ..... nothing to break , nothing to jam up ... I've been drifting on the same spool since I put it in (about 4 years ago) hope this helps ... GOOD LUCK
A volvo 240 rear end will fit the 86. Manual brakes feel wonderful for an 86. A lot of people relocate the pushrod mounting location to give it more leverage, to make it easier, but leaving it in the stock location feels completely fine. You might want a wilwood prop valve if you do it, or I think you can run an s12/13 bmc which has an internal propvalve iirc. I used the tpr kit on my 86, but I know drifthq sells the chasebays one.
Chicos.. estan a otro nivel! La verdad note un cambio positivo con la llegada de Steve, Spoon y Austin al canal. A Jimmy lo noto mas relajado y me gusta que siga en el ambiente, el mismo taller le da un toque y que los chicos esten en frente tamb
You could fully build out a mezanine from the toilet across to the other side without compromising lift usage, youd get more storage and plenty more space for workshop tools/workbench/etc
Just wanted to say I’ve been watching since 7 months before the shop fire and I just wanted to say thank you for continuing to produce amazing content , I look for your video like I look for my vape haha
I was unfortunately only watching haggard when that happened but I found out about him through their videos. I did see the shop fire video but I really started watching when he got the new shop after that. Jimmy and the crew always make dope videos!
Have had my 86 for 10+ years, half of those years ran the booster disconnected,I like the firmness..T3 sells a delete kit or if you want a smaller booster flos.ie sells one for clearance issues.
My truck is 4000 lbs and I run manual brakes. Dont run a booster for a grip car. Also i wouldve gone 6 piston still up front because then you dont have to run as aggressive of a pad and would probably get even more life out of them pads and rotors. Loving the track build
I bought a smaller booster from T3 recently, Flo's also has one. I needed the room but didn't want to convert my car to booster-less. Having the smaller booster allows access to the nut to the clutch master cylinder that is hidden by the original brake booster.
24:57 I spy a front facing intske plenum for an RB???, couple that with the some of those 34 parts, is there an r34 gtt build coming soon? Or something to put an rb into maybe
I run manual brakes with AP Racing front brake kit, feels fantastic, doesn't require excessive pedal effort. Using a 3/4 master cylinder, OEM master might make it feel a little too stiff IMO.
My boy, Jimmy, and the crew you guys have brought the car culture two people that don’t understand us and now they understand hard work friendship, and living your best life is the key to success never forget where you come from but always looking ahead to see where you guys are making an imprint in people’s lives. Can’t wait to see what the new year brings🎉.What more can you ask for?🎥🔥💯🏎️💨💨🏁🇵🇷🏴☠️
Jimmy, posting this comment while still watching the video: just a suggestion, wrap the seats what you store top of WC, in plastic bags, so they don’t get damaged. As you never know how long they will be there.
Jimmy is proof that if you like what you like it’s your car who cares what other people think. I personally think all of jimmys cars are exactly how I’d build them if I owned them!
I have manual brakes on my ae86 with the OEM master cylinder. Feel firm and you have to press it with intent but it brakes good. Also check the type 1 aero mirrors they looks way better on the ae86
you should have opened rear pumkin cover and make sure that the rear end is even bolted into place. it might have just ben set in place and bolts were just hand threaded loose. and now parts are catching from not being fully seated. not say 100000% but huge potential for it.
If the suspension or rear axle aren't up to it you can get fully floating axles etc and the suspension from a rally mk2 escort to fit and they take 350bhp flat out
Manual brakes will require more force but you get a better feeling of how the brakes are performing. It’s “better” for track usage. To each their own though. I can do either with or without assist.
Best way to check correct tightness of a taper roller bearing is to do what you already done but get a screwdriver or small lever bar and use to see if the washer beneath the nut and some float/movement,tight enough to not move with but enough it can be move with lever bar 👍🏻
Personally I wouldn’t run manual brakes… I had them on my Subaru Justy (even smaller than the 86) and it was… not the best. It’s definitely possible and maybe you’d enjoy it set up that way but if you can run a booster I’d run it for sure
We do a similar thing on airplanes where we seat the bearing while spinning the wheel and then back torque off and retighten the wheel to a spec that doesn’t put any compression in the bearing
I had manual brakes to start with and then switched up to power boosted brakes made the car SOOO much easier to handle over all but especially for drifting
Jimmy, I'm loving the Guinness jumper for starters but unfortunately need to put the cam red over black with superlites 😁she will be a true Irish motor then😂
That Factor ad was awesome! When Jimmy fell out the chair and then lifted Lupy up with that scared face, I busted out laughing, lmao! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
same, had me rollin lmfao
I skip ads like that on most videos, but I never do on Jimmy's as you never know what your going to get 😂
Lupin was there for it too. He wanted a bite!
Your mom did
Bro it had me rolling
legitimately the only channel i wont skip through the ads on because the boys do such a good job
Lol
I skip them, no time for any of that

Make sure the axel ends that go in the rear end are the same size. Sr5 and gts are different by a little bit. Been through this back in the day
4 inches lower? Looks like Takumi fitment! As for the Ganadors, they're too "round" for such a squared car. I can't wait to see this thing done!
right? it looks funtional to me maybe lower the front a tiny bit.
You should extend the loft over the bathroom entrance and make stairs up like the old shop so there is more storage space and easy access to the storage and Austin can go up there for cinematics maybe?
Bong
Extend the loft over the whole 4-post lift with the 180... build a mezzanine for parts storage.
Best intros!! Sure don’t mind watching those type ads, love the creativity and proud of you guys for getting yourselves right
Definitely loving the organization videos and cleaning up the shop area, wouldn't mind a couple more videos of that
Can always count on Jimmy and the crew to deliver sick content every single time.
The first jimmy video i ever saw was him building a loft in his old shop, and the beginning of this video reminds me of that.
Just wanted to say that I’m loving the longer videos. Thanks guys.

you def want a brake booster on jimmy. it helps alot. can't wait to see this thing finshed. keep up the good work lads. love from Ireland

@JuddMcgee It is though. Only does not apply if you have equal piston size, which is not that common
Jimbo your the real mvp putting up actual content and not a look back at 2022 video
In Australia we have Jim's Mowing service....and antennas and electrical ETC...he made it BIG TIME..we all have goals in life lol💯❤️🇦🇺🤙
I think you should bag them seats, it looks awesome!
Came here to say that. They’ll get real dusty real quick.
Looking very nice, the mirrors though, not a fan. Oldskool mirrors fit the 86 a lot better imo.
Shotutout to Jimmy for actually keeping all these random parts. Definitely saved me in the past
jimmy on his game for the 30 min videos loving the content keep it up guys !!!!!!

Electric blankets work really well for warming fiberglass and plastic bumpers to help with relaxing the form to fit better.
You know if Steve ever wants a good side hustle, voice overs and narrations is it. He's smooth with it.
Jimmy is one of the few UA-camrs that I love watching every video that they put out and always look forward to watching

Run Free, Vertex, Origin Labo, Crystal Body Yokohama, Jblood, and BN sports makes good looking aero kits for the ae86 along with TRD and Tom's racing.

Been here since the shop fire too and never miss a vid. The goals you have reached is amazing. That kit looks amazing too
Try stock toyota ganadors from a USDM ae92 coupe. I think they'd flow with the body lines of the 86 alot better.
What a huge difference that makes! Love the styling choices, cant wait to see what you guys do with paint
True, turbo II mirrors have the same vibe as ganador mirrors
garage/shop organization clips are always good interesting bits Jimmy!

These wheels have been done a million times on 86’s but a spicy size set off chrome SSR long champs would look great

Haha the lunch segment was fire man. Had to show the kids and they lost it laughing
It's OK to put long videos out we enjoy them 👍
You can always check with Hert but I'm sure he just runs manual brakes. Luv this look its taking it on.

OEM 20v twinspoke wheels look sick on this chassis, IMO. That would be a killer look for this one.
dudeee this is definitely one of my favorite cars in the fleet, cant wait to see this one in person!!
Anyone who was into cars in the early 2000's wanted an 86 after Initial D came out! You will do this car right! Sweet car dude's.
If the suspension or rear axle aren't up to it you can get fully floating axles etc and the suspension from a rally mk2 escort to fit and they take 350bhp flat out
This one needs fender mirrors!
Yes that’s how a lot of trucks rotors are setup. Threw me off the first time I went to do one.

Our Dual Piston Brake Booster Delete would be right at home in the 86 ;)
I think that primer is a nice little teaser of how sick that would look two tone Nardo Gray and Black.
When the dogs head popped up over the table 🤣🤣🤣. I'm weak right now.
Always glad to see a youtuber stoked on their first Corolla builds
loving this KE86 more and more Jim
Looks great, just not sold on that rear spoiler tbh. For me it messes up the rear line. Something smaller would look nicer I think.
93' Cadillac DeVille mirrors fit also, and the boxeness shape matches the car
Love watching these videos and all the progress n what not 🙂
Feels like I’m right a part of the journey ☺️😁
This thing is gonna be so mint when it's done! Trueno hatches are the best AE86s. So good!
Steves voice is so smoothing to listen to. His voice reminds me of Morgan freeman. He needs to read me a bedtime story.

I love the energy of the team.

The rear axle sounds like when you have to long wheelbults, and they hit the oem handbrake stuff inside the rear caliper. 😅
hey jimmy you should buy a bumper bar rack most body shops have then can fit around 8 bars on them in a smaller space.
The AE86 would look so sick 2 toned 👌🏻👌🏻
goodline front bumper no skirts and a stock rear bumber would look very good
Yeah that's 80's Toyota truck tech for the rotor behind the hub.
