I noticed on the forums that there's an 'Africa Single' logo sticker that's been made for it by some industrious types. The more I look at this the more I like it. I've been and had a look at the Himalayan and it appeals very much but I reckon this bike with a similar power output will be more reliable. I tried the taller heavier bikes and whilst the height wasn't too much of a problem, the weight when combined with height certainly put me right off. Consequently a lighter bike like this is more likely the way I'll go especially as a high powered bike isn't really all that important to me. I haven't ruled out the 'L' either. A dual sport bike just makes sense for me right now especially now I live out in the sticks. I do think they missed a trick with the lights, two stacked vertically would have been far more 'Dakar' than the wonky gas mask replica, but having said that, it's quirky and that's generally OK by me! It's testament to the quality that you found very little to criticise. I'm sure the untidy brake cable loop is a function of the long throw suspension and the way it's routed down the fork leg. Stick on a rear rack and a Giant Loop Coyote bag and the world is your smoked herring. Certainly, the trails of the North Yorkshire Moors and Northumberland that are right on my doorstep beckon strongly!

After watching your videos/reviews for a few years now, I notice you do seem to have a thing about white van drivers, I am a white van driver, I am also a white CB1100 rider and a Honda CRV driver (the family car). I also used to be a subscriber to your channel and stumbled across this review, merely because I am interesting in purchasing the 2018 version of this bike, I enjoyed watching your review of the bike and it has helped me further in deciding whether to continue with my purchase, so I thank you for that, but I don't understand your comments about white van drivers, I guess us bikers (you included) also get our fair share of negativity from other road users. Anyway, thanks for your review of the bike. Kind Regards, Paul from the UK.
I guess we all have to try and share the roads, it would be nice to live in the middle of nowhere for fantastic biking roads with no traffic, but then there would probably be less work available (unless we can work from home of course). Thanks for the reply and the review once again, it helped, thanks, Paul.
I have been looking at numerous reviews as I am looking at purchasing a new motorbike (dual purpose) after selling my Yamaha XT600E a couple of years ago. Your reviews have been extremely helpful into narrowing my choices down to 2.....the Honda CRF250 Rally or the KTM 390 Adventure!!! Both seem like perfect options for what I'm looking for but am leaning a bit towards the KTM but need to do a bit more homework with regard to service spares and back up service here in South Africa. Keep up with your excellent reviews...!!!
In Russia we have a Chinese copy of this bike that’s called Motorland Dakar 250 in 2 versions LT and ST which cost 176000 rubbles and 187000 rubbles. People are loving them!
I own a Suzuki bandit 1250 and just traded it in for one of these. I pick it up in a couple of days, and I'm very excited to get off the beaten track. It's going to be a slight power difference but it looks like it will be heaps of fun!
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yep, really excited to get back into trail riding again, I hope to be able to do big road miles as well, might have to invest in a seat concepts seat as well I think! The mods you've done to your CRF250L will come in handy in the future, thanks for the really great videos!
Excellent review. I went for a test ride on one of these earlier this year and I liked it that much I bought one, and I don't regret it at all. She's been a really good fun ride with quite a bit of pep for a 250. She handles really well on our rough roads too. Cheers
Thank you , for your reviews!!!! I live in Latvia and even i understand every word you say. Nice and clear review. In short time you gave me all information witch i needed. Good luck!!!!
Great review. I've currently got a VFR750, which is a lovely bike, but I think I'm going to chop it in for a Rally. easier maintenance, lighter, better riding position, can ride in winter coz it's easier to was salt out, can do some light off roading...
Also worth mentioning the petrol tank cap that is the "normal" big bike kind of kit. Nothing wrong with the L or M cap which s in chrome and styled differently but some off-roaders complain for some reason. Wish Honda will make an upgrade kit for us L or M owners with the bigger capacity tank and maybe a performance kit to get it to the new engine performance. I was hoping they'll make this a 300 to say the truth. Could have been easily done since they have the cbr with a 300 already.
I am glad you mentioned the front brake tube sticking out in an unsatisfactory way. That is the first thing I saw. Additionally, the view of the cockpit seems less than great. The bike looks great from other angles, however. The seat is not comfy looking, but that is always subjective. The price is actually quite agreeable! Thanks for the information!
I was about to get this bike but I opted for a used WR250R and a bunch of new mods for the same price. Spent 3k on the bike, ordered all new plastics, FMF Q4 + Mega Bomb, Pro Taper Bars and Grips, 48T Gearing, Flatlands Skip Plate (oh and it needs a new Countershaft Seal). All came to about 4.2K and will probably get a few more tarty bits over time. So far pretty happy.
Great review ! Thanks to you i own one of these now :) Very good motorcycle, great build quality compared to other A2 bikes (BMW 310gs disappointed me on test ride) . It's not super powerful but in my experience it never seems to lack power, handling is easy and effortless.
Went for a test ride last month, it's an ideal bike for beginner riders for pretty much any terrain (easy to handle, very forgiving throttle response), lightweight, nimble even with a heavy rider, comfortable. Seat height is great for persons with average height (the suspension compresses nicely). Great for commuting. Things I didn't like: lack of gear indicator, the side compartment is flimsy (it popped open when I mounted the bike), budget side stand. Very positive experience overall.
Thanks for the videos. I believe the new crf250l ..2017...has had engine changes to improve performance, also changes to the air box and exhaust etc...so I should imagine the 2017 crf250l has the same performance as the rally you test rode.
Very good review. I’ve been stuck between this and a KLX250... I’ve always been a Honda guy so, I’ll probably got with the CRF. The more I look at it the more I like it. And I know those headlights are ugly but I like em.
Nice review. I was looking at buying a motorbike for driving to and on the farm and was contemplating the CRF Rally or CRF250L. I will buy the CRF250L and keep the £750 cash saving after your desfription and explanantions of the differences.
Thought I recognized those roads......used to live and work round there. Had a few Xmas parties at pub you stopped at. Like the CRF rally and think it looks good. They need to make a 600 class bike that is still light and agile. Couldn't replace my ccm644 with one though. The Honda weighs around the same with half the power and lower spec suspension. I fitted a 25 ltr tank and upgraded the seat a little for longer trips. Just need to sort a screen now. Keep up the vids👍
Hi there the TMF. The video was great as always! I ride both sports bikes (BMW S1000RR and Ducati 1299 superleggera) and dirt bikes (KTM 200 EXC and KTM 250 SX). You may want to review the KTM 350 EXCF which is road legal and a powerful and grewt bike for road and offroad use! Thanks again, Robert
glad to see this one! as I've recently been fantasising about getting a bike, this was top of the list for a (potential) beginner like me. Generally love the ADV styles of bike and this looks great. nice to hear the differences to the crf250L too. Top stuff as always TMF.
Enjoyed your Live Stream this evening. With the current popularity of small capacity 'Adventure Bikes' (inc. this CRF), any chance of reviewing the Suzuki VStrom 250; Kawasaki Versys 300; and the amazing looking Chinese/Italian Benelli TRK 502? Hope your voice is better.
I thought the 250 in this felt fine - certainly better than my 2014 250L - but overall I agree a little more poke wouldn't go amiss...300-350cc would have been perfect I reckon...
How tall are you? Looking for my first bike. Duel sport. Light, easy, reliable and off road capable. I’m 5’8” with shortish legs. But of a stretch for me?
Great review as always. I’m looking at one of these to get into green laning as I’m only an hour from Salisbury plain. I have a 2019 Tiger 800 XCA but think that’s probably abit too much Bike to start out on and your review, as always, has helped me decide between the L and Rally. Do you know if there are many changes between this 2017 model and today?
TheMissendenFlyer thanks for the speedy response. Did you video your ride? Whilst very experienced on road I’ve never done any green laning and like the idea of the rally as it’s light by comparison to the Tiger. Will build up to the bigger bike in a couple of years.
It's nice that they improved the exhaust make it lighter and sounding better, a bigger fuel tank, ABS, and a nice dash with a tachometer. BUT...they made it taller and heavier, not nice for me on offroad situations. and in full honesty there's too much plastic to break from a fall offroad too. and a plastic skidplate??...nah If it would be me I would still get the standard CRF250L ABS and spend the rest of the money for a proper rear shock and a front spring. great review BTW. THUMPS UP!
Love that pub, does some cracking food. Well worth taking Mrs Missenden Flyer there for a meal..... Great review, of a great bike, can't really go wrong there. Agree with cabling is a mess though.....
Good review as per TMF. Now I've just got the missus sorted out with an upgrade from the MT-03 to 07 I am already hankering after one of these for a winter bike. Hmmmmmm
The review I've been waiting for :) Glad you liked it. Just for clarification: would you recommend spending the extra bit of cash (a bit more than just a bit actually, when we're talking about this end of the market, 14,62% more to be exact) for a Rally instead of an L? Also, would you yourself trade in your L for a Rally (with paying the difference)? And most importantly: would you say it's worth getting the Rally instead of a considerably cheaper option of getting a used L? I know, tough questions :) So I'll throw one easier in because I'm nice like that: have you had any issues with the seat height and stability when stopping? Think you could have a problem with it on rough offroad terrain? Thanks for making these videos btw, I wouldn't get mad if you decide to skip answering these questions, you already make the youtube motorcycling community much more informative :) Cheers!
Hi Leuff always good to talk to you! To take your questions directly..."would you recommend spending the extra bit of cash" - Yes, definitely worth it. " would you yourself trade in your L for a Rally (with paying the difference)" - No, the differences aren't huge enough now I've heavily modded my "L" to make paying the extra worthwhile. " would you say it's worth getting the Rally instead of a considerably cheaper option of getting a used L?" - if you can afford it then yes, the Rally is a much better bike all round, I was very surprised how much I liked it more than the "L". "have you had any issues with the seat height and stability when stopping? Think you could have a problem with it on rough offroad terrain?" - No I've not had any serious issues, I'd be lying to say it wouldn't be better if the seat was an inch lower, but if I was that concerned I would get it lowered (not hard on these to swap out or mod the "dog bone" suspension link).....and thanks for the kind words - all the best - TMF
Is it possible I'm the only one who just loves that Honda bikes have the horn and indicators buttons in the "wrong" position? My first bike has them in the usual position and I've always complained about it.
I took this bike out again today for a final ride before I decided to buy it or not, it was a not for me decided it was not for me due to the lack of go in the thing. A surprise of the day was then taking the Honda 500x out which turned out to be a peach of a bike with lots of go where you needed it. Green lanes on this would be easy with a set of suitable tyres they are used by the Honda off road academy for the beginners. So what to choose🤔 got to check the new Benelli TRK502 out tomorrow . You really have to look at this bike and what you get for the money. Check it out.
David Archibald: before you make a purchase, try the NC750X DCT; you’ll love it 😊 I’ve done 2300 miles on mine in 4 months and over that period it’s averaged 94mpg.
bts jimin I took one out last week I used to have the NC700x. The 750x was a lot better engine wise than the 700x but it's a case of had one lets have something else. I have a new GS Adventure so looking for something to use in the winter and around town.
Hey mate have you tried Kawasaki's KLX 250? If so how does this Crf250Rally compared to it (especially power wise)? And 2nd question, does the weight difference slows this bike down compared to the regular Crf250L, or the Rally got a much more powerful engine than the regular L? Cheers...
TheMissendenFlyer so the extra weight in this bike didn't make it slightly inferior compared to the lighter L? btw thanks for the reply man really helped me :D
I just got this bike in Bangkok, it's well suited for chaotic third-world urban riding. For instance you can drive on the sidewalks to get around traffic jams. Haven't used it in the countryside yet.
Interesting review Mr Flyer Sir. Would you make similar mods for the exhaust and power output as you did on your 250l, or do you feel the improvements to the rally model are enough to rule them out. I fancy a small second bike for the winter and the 250l, or the rally may be ideal.
+Mash M Actually no I wouldn’t, the Rally felt as fast as my L as stock - I may add an exhaust but that would only be a vanity thing to make it louder, power wise the Rally is all there out of the box.
Have been looking at Rally myself nice design & practical for bit of off roading . But I would have to get rid of a bike. Brake hose is like that for long suspension travel .
Engine changes for both the Rally and L, 2mm larger injector, larger headpipe, different injecton map which seems to have worked well. Rally recieved larger front brake, L did not. I have been waiting to here the impression of the engine changes and power output. Thank you.
Good to hear both variants got the mods, they are definitely noticeable and the bike feels adequate as stock (where as the old CRF L in my opinion, didn't).....
I recently passed my test and today test rode this bike. It infuriated me, I wanted to hate it and rule a 250 out so I could concentrate on getting a 600-700cc ish bike, however I smiled for the 20 odd miles I was out! The newer “rally” version is a bit out of my price range, and was looking initially at the 250L. How well do they compare? Hoping to get out on a 250L (second hand as the rally only had 60 miles on) and try it soon. Would happily do some of the mods, especially the fuel tank upgrade as although I won’t be touring, I think I’ll prefer to know I have a few extra miles spare as I live in the sticks. Cheers for all the videos, very helpful. Jack
@@TheMissendenFlyer I think I will too. Was worried I would get bored of it as my main bike but I think you could have so much fun on it I just won't get bored! Cheers again.
Great video as normal ,been thinking of getting one of these for green lanes ,have you any plans of doing the new Suzuki sv650 I here it's a good bike for low end price middle weight another possibility?
I think it’d be a great bike for me. I don’t give a tinker’s cuss about styling. When you’re in the mountains of Mongolia, where I live, it’d be the most stylish bike for thousands of kilometres. At the moment, I ride a Honda Transalp 600v which is a bit heavy and cumbersome for serious off roading but it’s probably nicer for long road riding between mountain ranges.
Excellent review, very high quality. Ignoring the off-road capability of the Rally, how would you compare it to the BMW G310R for road riding and for a first bike (newbie) for an adult? Thanks again for the review. Peace.
Well the CRF would suit a larger person as it's a bit taller, but if it's just plain road riding, the G310R is possibly a better choice - but it's marginal, both great bikes.
Thanks for the feedback as much appreciated. I'm 6'3"' tall so the Rally might work better for me. I have not yet made it to a BMW dealer to check out the G310R for fit but plan to shortly.
@@TheMissendenFlyeryou can chauffeur me to go and collect it if you like haha, I've got to get to welwyn (hitchin) honda to collect it.. I've also got to schedule in a visit to pick up my other buy, KTM 690sm prestige from stoke on trent 😒
TheMissendenFlyer Thanks for getting back to me. I’ll keep that in mind when I’m looking as I think at some point my mrs will want to be on the back to go touring. So think I’ll look at other options. Cheers 👍
I'm really liking both this and the Royal Enfield Himalayan, overall which would you say is the nicer road bike? Which bike would you say puts a smile on your face after each ride? Speed isn't an issue, in fact im trying to remove speed from the equation and so enjoy everything else a bike has to offer. I'm coming from a Street Triple R which is a great bike but imo it's too much for the road, it's so good at everything it kind of makes me feel underwhelmed as it's so easy to go fast, corner etc. I'm looking for a bike that you can fully use and get the most out of what it offers without worrying too much about speeding tickets.
These are the two bikes that I've been looking at, had a 950 adventure ages ago, that was too much power and too expensive to look after, fuel, servicing. You sound like you are where I am now, but two years ago..... How did it pan out? I love the idea of the Himalayan, but also the CRF250 Rally... I need to see them in the flesh I think... But need to know what you ended up with lol
If you had to pick one bike to do the London commute including a 10 mile stint on the M25 and be a capable off road bike for occasional use on a weekend, would you pick this one?
Bought one last week...first bike so have nothing to compare it to.

I have nothing against White Van Drivers! I'd love one myself....it's just I always seem to get stuck behind 'em.....
I guess we all have to try and share the roads, it would be nice to live in the middle of nowhere for fantastic biking roads with no traffic, but then there would probably be less work available (unless we can work from home of course). Thanks for the reply and the review once again, it helped, thanks, Paul.
Headlights remind me of a WW2 gas mask !
Exactly!
Yeah man
FENNER-G LMAO my man
WW1 used gas masks. Ww2 dropped bombs on each other heads
A huge power difference! But like you say - a hoot....exciting times eh?
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yep, really excited to get back into trail riding again, I hope to be able to do big road miles as well, might have to invest in a seat concepts seat as well I think! The mods you've done to your CRF250L will come in handy in the future, thanks for the really great videos!
Excellent review. I went for a test ride on one of these earlier this year and I liked it that much I bought one, and I don't regret it at all. She's been a really good fun ride with quite a bit of pep for a 250. She handles really well on our rough roads too. Cheers
Yes I agree - great bike....
Thank you , for your reviews!!!! I live in Latvia and even i understand every word you say. Nice and clear review. In short time you gave me all information witch i needed. Good luck!!!!
Thank you Vlad - glad to be of use!
Great review. I've currently got a VFR750, which is a lovely bike, but I think I'm going to chop it in for a Rally. easier maintenance, lighter, better riding position, can ride in winter coz it's easier to was salt out, can do some light off roading...
FANTASTIC review.
Well Done.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Looks good.. except the headlights hah. Very well rounded review as always!
Thank you!
Phantom Rides It looks really cool in reality. Didn’t like it from the photos either.
Yes I agree a 300cc version would be perfect, and yes, the tank cap is better on this than our twisty chrome things....
Minor niggles from me though, for it's purpose I think the CRF 250L's are great bikes...(but then I'm biased as I have one!)
I love your review on the Honda Crf 250 rally with the Gas Mask on it , good job keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
Nice one!
Great review ! Thanks to you i own one of these now :)
Very good motorcycle, great build quality compared to other A2 bikes (BMW 310gs disappointed me on test ride) . It's not super powerful but in my experience it never seems to lack power, handling is easy and effortless.
I agree - great bikes! Enjoy and ride safe....
What a great looking bike.. With the 500 twin in there it would be brilliant
Yes that would be fun - even better if they gave it the AT lights rather than the Lord Buckethead ones....!
If only it was 450cc category twin or triple would do me just fine.
A nice wee machine this CRF. Hope you enjoyed your test ride!
I did indeed!
Yes I'd agree with pretty much all that...cheers!
Looking up for crf 250l rally for 5' 8" and then found your video. Thanks for the good review
Thanks for the videos. I believe the new crf250l ..2017...has had engine changes to improve performance, also changes to the air box and exhaust etc...so I should imagine the 2017 crf250l has the same performance as the rally you test rode.
Yes indeed Penny, I think you are right....a useful upgrade to the 250L!
Another good review fella , the best thing about the lights is you can't see them when riding lol , but love the bike
Very true sir, very true...(and just as well)....
Very good review. I’ve been stuck between this and a KLX250... I’ve always been a Honda guy so, I’ll probably got with the CRF. The more I look at it the more I like it. And I know those headlights are ugly but I like em.
Somebody had to! ;0)
Nice review. I was looking at buying a motorbike for driving to and on the farm and was contemplating the CRF Rally or CRF250L. I will buy the CRF250L and keep the £750 cash saving after your desfription and explanantions of the differences.
Every time I look at the front of my Rally ,I think about the Lord Bucket Head reference. Funny!
Thanks for watching and for stopping by! All the best - TMF
Love the look of this "Rally" model.
Great video, review, keep the coming...you boys are proud of the size of lic plates, sure takes away the looks.
Thanks, Wa.State fan
I'm not sure I've ever met anyone in the UK that likes the size of our registration (not licence) plates....!!
G’day there
Mate that was a great review very comprehensive on the bike , can’t wait to get mine
Thanks
Glad you found it so Adrian - thanks for watching!
Yes I'd love a go at one of those - so far I've not been able to get my hands on one though unfortunately....
glad to see this one! as I've recently been fantasising about getting a bike, this was top of the list for a (potential) beginner like me. Generally love the ADV styles of bike and this looks great. nice to hear the differences to the crf250L too. Top stuff as always TMF.
Glad my timing helped - and yes one of these would make a cracking first bike...cheers -TMF
I really fancy one of these for the winter!
Good call!
big bore kit needed to get most out of these imo, too bad they didn't make them 300cc from the get go.
Loganx5 totally agree
I thought the 250 in this felt fine - certainly better than my 2014 250L - but overall I agree a little more poke wouldn't go amiss...300-350cc would have been perfect I reckon...
250cc is the way to go on the far eastern market, which is way more important for Honda in this category than the EU and US market combined.
So, how about a BMW G310 GS then? 169kg, 34 hp, 11 liter tank and 30 km/l and 180mm travel both sides....
interesting little bmw but not really a trail bike
Nice review TMF. Taking delivery of mine on Monday!
Congratulations Robert - enjoy!
How tall are you?
Looking for my first bike. Duel sport. Light, easy, reliable and off road capable.
I’m 5’8” with shortish legs.
But of a stretch for me?
I'm 5'8" too - longish legs, the suspension compresses a lot, you'll have no issues....
TheMissendenFlyer thanks for the info.
Great review, just looking to pull the trigger... would you say the Rally was as good as the 250L for green laning?
Great review as always. I’m looking at one of these to get into green laning as I’m only an hour from Salisbury plain. I have a 2019 Tiger 800 XCA but think that’s probably abit too much Bike to start out on and your review, as always, has helped me decide between the L and Rally. Do you know if there are many changes between this 2017 model and today?
None other than cosmetic - I did Salisbury Plain recently, your tiger would be perfect there!
BUT...they made it taller and heavier, not nice for me on offroad situations. and in full honesty there's too much plastic to break from a fall offroad too. and a plastic skidplate??...nah
If it would be me I would still get the standard CRF250L ABS and spend the rest of the money for a proper rear shock and a front spring.
great review BTW. THUMPS UP!
Cheers Ripmax333 always good to hear from you buddy!
Great review once again TMF.
I was thinking more WW2 gas mask when I looked at the front end
Regards SBK Pete
Yes that's it!
no, its the eye of a fly
Yes, I can see that, however I quite like the asymmetrical look.
This is the future of engine size etc. for adventure bikes, keep the faith, massive CC engines are history... your thoughts mate
I tend to agree....
Top notch review, actually thinking of getting one to go with my Wr250r
Thank you Jack - would make a nice couple in the garage!
TheMissendenFlyer , I believe it would, keep up the great reviews and videos
This is the nicest looking bike out of all dual sports. Undisputed...
Well I'd dispute that but it is still a great bike!
Nice honest review mate. Would like to see you compare it to the kwak versus 300.
You never know - stay tuned!
Can't buy this in London with on street parking. It will be nicked on the 1st night for sure.
sadly you're probably right....
ReerBaadia Unless you tie a 🦁 on it lol
honestly, which bike won't?
Love that pub, does some cracking food. Well worth taking Mrs Missenden Flyer there for a meal..... Great review, of a great bike, can't really go wrong there. Agree with cabling is a mess though.....
excellent review mate. please, how do you start the bike? Do you need to keep the key on it for it to start?
Well in it as normal....
Great review. Been looking at one of these for the daily commute.
Would be great (assuming you're not doing long motorway miles)....
Good review as per TMF.
Now I've just got the missus sorted out with an upgrade from the MT-03 to 07 I am already hankering after one of these for a winter bike. Hmmmmmm
Great review, as for the front the project manager must have been on the Saki all night when he signed that off.
Agreed!
I guess the used L model is the best route to go on a budget... Personally, I would get the Rally based on my test ride.
Great content as ever. I'm looking at 250's at the mo' so this was handy.
Did notice the mic was rather crackly today though. :/
Sorry about that!
Love watching your vids mate keep doing what you do Have you done a review of the new vfr?
Ni I haven't....but stay tuned you never know! Cheers - TMF
Hey mate have you tried Kawasaki's KLX 250? If so how does this Crf250Rally compared to it (especially power wise)? And 2nd question, does the weight difference slows this bike down compared to the regular Crf250L, or the Rally got a much more powerful engine than the regular L? Cheers...
No I've not ridden the Kwak so I can't comment. The Rally and L are effectively the same bike in terms of power IIRC....
TheMissendenFlyer so the extra weight in this bike didn't make it slightly inferior compared to the lighter L? btw thanks for the reply man really helped me :D
You're just not an asymmetrical sort of a guy, are you? Usual well-presented and reasoned review; thanks for posting.
You noticed? And you are quite correct, symmetry is the way to go surely?
would save money and get the crf 250l, a fews mods its fantastic..
Great review. Not sure why the Rally and L appear to sound different as they share the same exhaust components.
I just got this bike in Bangkok, it's well suited for chaotic third-world urban riding. For instance you can drive on the sidewalks to get around traffic jams. Haven't used it in the countryside yet.
Nice one
Love the bendy signals, My 250l is in need of a set...
Thinking of getting one for a winter bike, would you recommend that Missenden flyer ?
Yep!
@@TheMissendenFlyer awesome also looking at the CRF450RX and the yamaha xt660
Great bike and an extra few CCs and bhp would make it much more popular in the UK... thanks for another great review TMF 👍
Cheers Pineapple Sup - good to hear from you as always.....
Great! So would you then replace yours with rally then?
Nope - mine had gone!
I am considering getting CRF250L with FMF exhaust like yours. Just need to convince wifey as to why I need one after having bought an adventure bike 🧐
Have been looking at Rally myself nice design & practical for bit of off roading . But I would have to get rid of a bike. Brake hose is like that for long suspension travel .
I wondered if that was the issue...cheers for confirming...
Another great review! Thanks
No problem!
If you had to ride a bike every day, would you choose the 250 rally or the 310gs?
Probably the 310gs
Engine changes for both the Rally and L, 2mm larger injector, larger headpipe, different injecton map which seems to have worked well. Rally recieved larger front brake, L did not. I have been waiting to here the impression of the engine changes and power output. Thank you.
Good to hear both variants got the mods, they are definitely noticeable and the bike feels adequate as stock (where as the old CRF L in my opinion, didn't).....
Great review TMF as always 👍 please, if you remember is it lacking power when overtaking cars on regular roads?
Depends how fast they're going - but generally, yes.......
Good review and def consider it for first bike. Could anything be done to suspension for short asses. Swap out springs? Change seat?
Well the "dog bone" could certainly be modded I reckon....
Jack
The 250L compares very well - i think you'll love it! (I love mine!)....all the best - TMF
No plans at present but I will ask the question!
great video as always
Thank you.....
I've just ordered one of these, arriving next week :)
Congratulations...
@@TheMissendenFlyer thank you, it'll be my forth bike 😳
@@TheMissendenFlyeryou can chauffeur me to go and collect it if you like haha, I've got to get to welwyn (hitchin) honda to collect it..
I've also got to schedule in a visit to pick up my other buy, KTM 690sm prestige from stoke on trent 😒
Hi, could you have a passenger on the back of this bike or would it be too uncomfortable and struggle with the weight? Great reviews btw 😀Cheers 👍
It's OK with a pillion for very short rides, but not a bike to take two on on any serious journeys - not enough power or comfort for a pillion...
TheMissendenFlyer Thanks for getting back to me. I’ll keep that in mind when I’m looking as I think at some point my mrs will want to be on the back to go touring. So think I’ll look at other options. Cheers 👍
Fantastic review..sukses selalu boss
Well I have the CRF - I’m a fan and would take that over the Himalayan personally (I’m also a Street Triple and Royal Enfield owner!)....
Great review. How tall are you? Thx!
5’8”
Honda need to put the 500 twin engine from the CB500X in this with a few modifications and call it the 500 Africa Twin. Surely a win win for Honda.
...if it will fit...
If you had to pick one bike to do the London commute including a 10 mile stint on the M25 and be a capable off road bike for occasional use on a weekend, would you pick this one?
Probably not no - I’d rather use my Street Triple for that....
I’d definitely get this, the street triple obviously can’t do off road. Wr250r is an amazing bike.
I think they look very similar at the front to the africa twin with the lights, I don't like it either myself, but I guess some will love it
Yes I'm not keen on the looks of the AT either, shame 'cos otherwise both these bikes are fabulous....
TheMissendenFlyer definitely agree with that, seems like it's hard to choose a bike nowadays cause they are all so good
