- Meet autistic Artist Chris Baker
Chris lives in Cardiff, South Wales with his parents and his two brothers. Chris was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when he was eight.
He was not supported in school and the bullying he was put through was awful. He survived in primary school with only one friend and when his friend wasn’t in school Chris struggled to function.
He saw many specialists over the years and was eventually taken out of school. As he grew up, he turned to drawing which had a positive effect on his mental health.
He became very good at it, so much so that he's now known as a Hyper Realist Artist using just pencils to create his art.
With the help of his parents, Chris' work is sold at fairs, exhibitions and comic cons all over the UK. As a result he's met many names from the world of showbiz and sports, such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Sir Ian McKellen, David Walliams and The Jacksons.
Chris is also friends with the hosts of the hit US reality series Pawn Stars, Rick Harrison and Steve Grad and his prints are for sale in Las Vegas.
To raise awareness and understanding about Autism is at the forefront of their lives and they want to ensure that children and adults are better understood and are supported to achieve their full potential and that we do not miss out on the unique outlook that people on the spectrum have.

Giggling at the title of this because like. My tumblr dash is filled with autistic artists, and in fact freelance art is full of autistic folks due to us being pushed into the arena since conventional work is often inaccessible due to lack of basic accomodations
Enjoyed that 👌🏽 What a talent ✏️
Ah, thanks for watching!
Thank you - we are proud of Chris’ achievements and want to share some positivity about living with autism. Chris had so much negativity throughout his schooling and as a family we were given a list of what he wouldn’t be able to do. It’s all about sharing positivity and raising awareness ❤
AMAZING VIDEO
Thank you, we are very proud of Chris and everything that he is achieving.
Not the “so called disabilities” from the dad… bro… disability is not a bad thing, it’s reality. We are disabled by society not disabled because we’re not capable of living. We may not be able to do some things considered “normal” parts of society, but a lot of times that’s because society isn’t set up in a way that is accommodating or accepting of disabled people. Being autistic and otherwise disabled does make life more challenging, but it most often is due to people treating us like infants or not letting us express ourselves or not giving us access to safe spaces…
