Since this is Easter season for many, Gethsemane would be a wonderful choice. He really, I was going to say nails it, but that's kinda insensitive. Dan really does a beautiful rendition of that epic song.

Loved your reaction to this wonderful reimagining of this classic ballad. Dan had to turn it from sad to a powerful anthem, and he succeeded. If you like opera, I hope you check out his Nessun Dorma. It's unbelievably good. Also, his cover of Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar. His performance and vocals are Broadway worthy. I look forward to the next one.
Definitely Gethsemane and Phantom of the Opera covers are a must listen.

Garrett J . Peters is a guitar teacher and youtuber. Gabriel is from Fearless (the band Dan was in with his brother. Not sure if he still performs with them.) and Victor the guitar nerd is a youtuber and guitarist for the band Eleine (doesn’t appear on this video but has done many in the past. Victor also plays keyboard.

Btw... You mentioned Garrett Peter's (guitarist) Sonata Arctica shirt. Thought you might be interested to know that Dan did at least one of their songs, too. I believe it was "Full Moon" and he did it twice, remaking it more recently after more vocal training.

Thanks for sharing. Dan is great. A thoroughbred musician through and through. I can recommend every single song by Dan Vasc. All of them, and I mean all of them... cover songs as well as his own songs, are perfect. "Gethsemane Jesus Christ Superstar" is awesome.

at 3:18 there was a fun little "ah" sound that was a choir sound but I don't think was a live choir, that's one of my favorite parts
Dan said his Midi could do a "choir," and he was excited to use it, so I think he used it in this one.

What a wonderful and interesting analysis! I love listening to people who understand what they’re hearing. You’re so right - the arrangement by Dan and Gabriel doesn’t change a word, and stays very close to the original vocal line. The slowed down segment is definitely an acknowledgement of Celine’s version. Just gorgeous and epic all around: the voice, the singing, the fabulous instrumentals, with power, energy, and charisma to burn. I’m looking forward to following your journey with the phenomenal Dan. They turned the saddest song in the world into a metal anthem. In the slow part of the song, Dan shows us all that he could have sung it that way, based on the original. But no, he would have been one of many.
I didn't like the movie Titanic myself, but this cover...wow made my day❤
This had to be done, Dan and Garrett resurfaced the Titanic. In my opinion, those 2 beat Celine. Dan is a wizzard with his voice. Fantastic work from those 2, AGAIN. Thanks for your reaction to this one.

No...Garrett COVERS Sonata Arctica songs, but the guitarist I think you have seen that would definitely remind you of Garrett, would be Pasi Kauppinen.
I love what you mentioned about the slow-down, and the up-take, at the end. What I love about that part, is how supremely SMOOTH they made both transitions...not to mention the triumphant smile on Dan's face as they got into that whole exchange. So much fun! 😀

I suspect that Dan and Garrett decided to see if they could take a very gentle sad song and change it to a joyous metal song. It is as if they picked up the song and ran through the fields with it and turned it into a big, joyous, over the top adventure.

Both Garrett and Dan absolutely take this song to the moon and back🌛 with power. But my favourite part is when Dan slows it down. That is when I feel his vocal "POWER" so beautifully. ❤from a 🇨🇦 Grammy

I've never believed that line in the original - never.
Yeah, after all the hard time in the gym, Dan knows he looks good ... just like The Incredible Hunk *1! He knows every time he flexes those guns he throws some of his Granny Stalkers *2 into defib! 😂😮😅❤

The original is a beautiful song but was so overplayed when it came out that I was literally sick of hearing it. This definitely changes that!

I had a thought.... has Dan ever considered insuring his vocal chords? (😊) Back in the 40's, an actress named Betty Grable insured her legs, (she had beautiful legs) so why not vocal chords? With Dan's power, raspiness, and breath control, he, at times, must put quite a strain on his vocal chords. For his sake, I think he should consider it. 👍😂🤟
