- Autumn has arrived down on the canal, and I'm enjoying many moments of sitting on top of my boat immersing myself in the tranquility and stillness, and the friendly and wise old heron, joins me on my narrowboat. My floating garden gets a new fresh colourful display of flora. Ghosts of the past make an appearance, There's beauty in the beasts! I wake up to a beautiful and mystical misty morning. And I head of to do some jobs on Jazz's boat and mooring. Sit back, relax, and get ready to experience some wonderful scenes of nature, including a fox! This is my journey, my narrowboat life vlog.
The Journey started here... I once lived in the fast lane of life, happily married of 26 years, with two children. That chapter was suddenly shattered by the sudden loss of my wife to cancer, which led me in to depression and homelessness. Waking up in hospital, after attempting to take my own life, with just a suitcase, kayak and bicycle and no money, I've managed to rise up out of the darkness and find happiness and continue my next chapter.
I'm a self taught film maker, and creating these vlogs, it gives me something to do, share my personal experiences as I continue my journey cruising and living life on the canal. Please do consider supporting my channel below... Thank you Dave

Tonight, as I watched the heart-wrenching news of a world torn by the anguish of war and the loss of lives on distant shores, I let my heart cry through my eyes. With a prayer for peace and an ache for serenity, I turned to your videos to calm my mind. Thank you David 🌺

Here in Northern Canada we don't have the ability to do this or to live on a boat of any kind. Our climate is way to harsh. But I wish.... You've inspired me. The tranquility and the peace that comes with your lifestyle is inspirational. Thanks for your videos.. Going to keep watching them.

Found you by chance at EA. At 76 I am a widower for ten years now. I have suffered with wanderlust all my life. I started watching videos about living on the cut and had I the opportunity I would have chosen differently once I was alone. I manage both of my 80+ year old parents. I have had to call ambulances for them at least 4 times this year alone for medical emergencies. I am there for them when they need me the most. This is all part of being responsible to family. At some point, that responsibility will end and staying in Houston, Texas is something I would rather not do when that time comes. Life on a narrow boat for a few years sounds like the perfect place to decompress.
I understand your situation well. I'm looking after, and caring for a family member two days a week, So despite living in such lovely locations and on my floating home, I still have lots to deal with. But going home, I have the opportunity to rest and re charge. I hope my videos help bring some peace for you 🙏 Dave

It's a tough world out there, and there's much suffering, especially now. I do this vlog as it's my hobby in a way, something to do, which brings me happiness, brings me closer to knowing who I am, closer to my heart.

So many people have been there for me in my dark days. it's only right I'm there for those going through dark days. At the beginning, the first episodes, I often wondered why I do this? I don't now need to ask that question 🙏
