Nice pick. We've needed a rim protector and Missi is the highest upside paint defender in this class.

The Pelicans are following the Saints business model....field a team that's just competitive enough to challenge for the play-in spots every season and to have reasonably decent attendance numbers, try not to overspend for talent, mine the free agent wire for good bench guys "with character", and make no major moves in the draft when you know your team needs something. Griffin gave big talk about upheaval and changes after the sweep, but it looks like "same shit, different day" after last night....and this is no knock on Missi- by all accounts, he was the safe pick, but knowing Willie Green's aversion to playing rookies, this kid is going to be bouncing back and forth between the league and the G-League all season.

How we let Trajon Langdon leave and keep Griffin is still a mystery to me, the Pistons gonna turn it around while the Pels will still be swimming in mediocrity
Pelican fans, Griff just basically told us he doesn't care about winning, and they just want our money. Griff is a double talking snake that's incapable of doing his job. This Pelican organization deserves to be in Seattle somewhere.
Some of that may be true . Also, true is the franchise has gotten better since he’s got here also just came off of our best season record wise since 08.
@@Smoke-89 not hard to do when you fall into a #1 pick with ridiculous talent and assets out the wazoo. But look at other teams that started rebuilding around the same time. They have bungled and made silly moves that have led to mediocrity. Not being over the 8 seed in 5 seasons with what he was gifted is atrocious

By the time that kid’s good enough to play regular minutes, Green will be fired, and Griffin, who picked this kid knowing he couldn’t help us this season, will be the one doing the firing.
I feel better about him since last night, hopefully the pels get a point and starting center that yves can come off the bench and they should be good to go

From his description on Hoopshype, Yves does not help this team. Prone to foul trouble. Poor free throw shooter and can't make midrange shots.

@@someguy9981 do u have the patience of a goldfish? it takes years to build a good team. we are mostly still very young and deep, this is the offseason to be aggressive, it doesnt work out next season then we consider change. look at the warriors, nuggets, bucks etc. it takes a while.
now the draft is over since the Pels have no 2nd round pick, its time to work out an extension for BI.
I prefer we trade BI. He has been a head case these past two playoff runs. Every playoff run, he gets into an altercation with Willie Green. That's why Griiff came out after the playoff loss and said, "Enough is enough. We have to make some major changes."
@@gregoryware4786 i dont think its as bad as what you believe. if both decided to part ways over wanting to win badly then i guess both arent competitive enough to be great and should part their ways.
when Griff made that comment, i believe it was more so about finding a big who can be a compliment to the current roster. as much as i really like JV, he did not really fit to how they want him to be. yes, he is good against many centers in this league but against a more athletic center, hes a liability. secondly, we all saw how CJ choked a few times last season. if u look back to his whole career, that is very typtical CJ. this is also why his time in Portland also ended. he was also good in the regular season but goes MIA when the team needed him most. he is not a PG and this team need a PG general. i sure wish CP3 could still play because i would not mind one bit if he come back and help this Pels team, with BI. if this happen then CJ leadership is not needed.
