- So today we find out which University in Sydney - UTS or University of Sydney (USYD) has better food and campus tour to see how amazing each campus is!

Since UNSW vs Macquarie Uni food battle episode was really fun to do and you guys wanted to see more, we show you our campus tour vlog on UTS and USYD.
To make this vlog interesting, Helmi placed her bet that University of Sydney has better food scene vs Nick who placed his bet on UTS ( by default ).
First up is UTS (University of Technology), located across Central Park and a few minutes walk from Central station. Upon touring the UTS campus we saw that UTS university had some modern and amazing architectural changes. There were a few new buildings built around UTS,. There are plenty of selections at UTS Food court located at building 2 - like sushi, Tex-Mex fast food joint Mad Mex, salad place called Stockmarket, a kebab place called Uni Bros, cafes, coffees, Malaysian restaurant Papparich and bubble tea joint Chatime. Nick got his halal snack pack from Uni Bros and Helmi got her Korean spicy chicken salad from Stockmarket with of course boba from Chatime!
After we headed down towards to USYD or University of Sydney. When you first walked into USYD it was an instant harry potter vibe. We also visited the Chau Chak Wing Museum, a new museum located inside the University of Sydney campus. Chau Chak Wing Museum is a new museum of art, science, history and ancient cultures with free entry for everyone. One of the exhibition that we enjoyed was the Egyptian Mummy!

Another fun vlog, I KNOW we didnt explore food in Usyd as we felt it was very similar but we did feel Usyd campus is breathtaking and a must see. We know there is other places that we didnt try! as USYD alumni, I can tell you you have missed 3 other foodie venues: Taste(vietnamese and french patisserie, fresh bakery ) New Law Building, Manning building food court(café), and the quintessential Courtyard Cafe/Restaurant/Bar(excellent coffee, pizzas, and typical pub fare as well as a catering host of most high class major events including graduation high tea) near the Paramatta Road side of campus... this is an incomplete evaluation of food options.

There’s also a food court in the Wentworth Buildings/SciTech library area. You need to go to towards the bus stop on City Rd away from the Hogwart-esque buildings. (There’s a cafe called Forum next to the big Admin building near the bus stop). In Wentworth Buildings food court there is a nice Indian food place and another Unibros. I like this UniBros because you can select to have chips, rice, salad or Tabouleh with your snack packs, or all of them in a meat plate.
You gotta get some USYD students to show you around USYD next time haha. There’s so much food to explore.
The place that OP mentioned on Parramatta Rd is Courtyard I think. Really lovely food there, nice pizzas. And you guys gotta have to try Taste burgettes, it’s a crowd-pleaser at USYD (best try at lunch time when they’re made fresh to orders)

There's also one at the Business School and the Flodge (not USyd though) near Mackie Building across Parramatta Road. And yeah, missing the Courtyard means that they've missed the best (though expensive) eating spot at USyd. Not to mention the bars and restos on King Street.
That was a landslide win for UTS 🙌

UTS really is beautiful and the architecture definitely is modern! They have a cool food court, and definitely is like the malls! That stairway was really amazing! Uni Bros looks really cool, and something a Uni student would eat after a night of partying!! LOL 😂😂
The thing is that the food places at USYD are spread throughout campus unlike UTS where everything is in the Foodcourt. You missed Ralph's cafe, Courtyard and Abercrombie terrace.

According to Alyssa Ho you are going to have to go back now to USYD. That building which looks like something out of Eton/Cambridge have bathrooms in like a dungeon underneath the building. I couldn't get out of there fast enough

Used to live on Wattle Street. It's like 5 min walking to The Tower Building. I miss the Uni Bros so much. The new building at UTS is so gorgeous.
I can tell why everyone loves Uni Bros, such an institution for sure 😋

Hey Nick and Helmi!! So great to see you guys doing another University Food Battle and today with UTS vs US Food Battle! That's funny advice they gave you when selecting Universities Helmi!!
You missed ALOT of food places at USyd, in fact you missed MOST food places. The food court you visited in Wentworth you missed the sushi place there, we lost a couple of places due to covid affecting student numbers which you would have seen. You didn’t go to Taste ( new law annexe) which is almost directly behind where you got coffee from. They have a restaurant and a take away area, make their bread, pastries, Plus the burgers at Ralph’s and boardwalk cafe (chicken teriyaki is yum!), PLUS near Subway is Parma’s - great coffee and Italian style food, Also you missed Manning, also the restaurant cafe in Holme Building, Grandstand, Business School, too! USyd is more spread out than UTS, so the eateries are as well. There are more as well - Engineering has a nice spot, Susan Wakil building. Definitely need to redo this and on an empty stomach op.
They missed a lot of UTS options too 2 more bars with food, 4 cafes and ofc most UTs students eat at spice alley anyway

Helmi's Balanced Diet!! Salad and Chat Time HAHAH! US.. The Hogwarts of Australia LOLOL!! That's so awesome you filmed a commercial in this area! We really love the older architecture! There is just something really "official" about it!! Looks like Gothic design! We wouldn't eat Subway either! But so cool UTS is a better food court! Cool that Uni Bros is cheaper at USyd! The Egyptian exhibit was amazing as well! Thanks for taking us with you and love you guys to the moon! 💖🤗😘🌛

Love Uni museums. We always check out the exhibitions in the different Chicago campuses.
So smart to do Uni battles guys. It can get very competitive. We had nothing like this back in our Uni years. We think this food court is the place to be, wow. 😳

When COVID ends, you should go check out the USyd Great Hall when they open it up (they used to have used books fairs there). It's really beautiful and great if you love Gothic architecture :) Unfortunately as a Science student, I don't get to go near the Quadrangle (Hogwart's Building) nearly as much.

There are many small food places within the Usyd campus...lots and lots of variety !! 2 Ralph’s cafe..cpc canteen, 2 other food courts and a few others that I can’t remember right now

When you went to the Underground place at UTS, that used to be the old food court. Now the food court has been moved to building 2, and only the Underground and The Loft (both bars) operate during certain times.
Ohh no wonder the underground looks so empty! It's good idea to move the food court to building 2, more spacious 🙂

Footbridge Theatre Cafe or the Restaurant section of Taste Baguette. The only two genuinely good places to eat at USyd.
We need to bring you Chad real Usyd alumni/student who knows food places there to bring us😅 we asked so many students and they only told us the old food court :/

My my. As a USYD alumnus, I can safely say that you missed all the finer dining venues at USYD. Or maybe they're closed because of covid.
Still, the new dining options at UTS win hands down. I almost always had to resort to Broadway or Spice Alley for my lunch/ dinner when I was at usyd. :P
we need proper usyd student/alumni to guide us hahaa.. but yeah UTS food court is kind of new, Usyd needs some upgrade hey haha :D
Did you go the cafe at the Chau Chak Wing Museum? It’s a really lovely place to get a coffee and something to eat and the outside eating area has a nice view. If you missed it you have to back, it has delicious coffee! It might redeem Sydney Uni food a little bit :)
I saw the cafe when I visited the museum, but didn’t figure out how to get in?
@@ailinyu6617 the door is a little bit hidden it took me a while to figure out the entrance but worth it, the staff are very welcoming

haha yea i know meggy, sadly, when we went there - unfortunately the food was the same and it wasnt very attractive but we knew USYD had a good campus tour - so we explored the museum =(

I am getting The University of Melbourne vibe from USYD because of the Hogwarts-style building. Agreed I love this kind of building like Helmi, would choose this for sure if the reason is only based on the architecture :D
And the UTS vibe is so similar to RMIT uni in Melbourne where we went to study, in the middle of the city and a lot of new building developments too.

Most of the Group of 8 (Go8) unis are all sandstone buildings. Usyd, Melbourne Uni, UQ, UWA, Adelaide Uni, etc.
One of the reason we do uni videos because I missed it so much 😅 people won't realise until graduated and start working that uni life was fun 😄

@@nickandhelmi have you tried Pacific Islander food? A few places to check out like Lakemba on Haldon Street near Woolies, there's also Minto opposite the train station and this place does a variety of donuts too.
I'm currently studying at USyd for Postgrad and loved it. Maybe Nick and Helmi could study at USyd for Postgrad.
Too expensive to study again for us🥲 but really missed uni life so much 😁

UTS School of Business is near Chinatown not inside the main campus. It has a much nicer cafetaria. Otherwise just walk to nearby Chinatown for meals. Also UNSW upper campus has several food areas that serve very good quality coffee. It is near Randwick Junction which has several restaurants and amenities. Just walk pass the Prince of Wales Hospital. At night the Spot near Ritz Theatre and Coogee Bay Road nearer the beach are packed with foodies as there are several restaurants located there. Hard to find parking and food there is not cheap as houses are pricey.

I prefer hungry jacks fries! I’ve visited UTS 20 years ago when I was a Macquarie uni student (I’m so old) at night - so was partying at UTS 😂 never been to Sydney uni - so pretty those old buildings 😍
