I like how Selim just casually mentioned he’s the first even though it was unnecessary, really shows how prideful and boastful he is, asserting himself on a different league to his siblings.
One of the things that really makes the Ed/Winry relationship work well is how Winry reacts to him now that she has admitted she loves him. She has no problem admitting it, even within Ed's hearing. It's not something that makes her treat Ed any differently, because she's *always* loved Ed, just as she's always loved Al. The way she loves Ed has just changed over time. Ed's still in denial about it, hence him becoming a blushing mess that has to recite the periodic table, but Winry? She realized she was in love with him and basically went "Oh. Huh. Okay." and then just kept going about her normal business. It's very endearing, and feels quite natural.
I would like the relationship more if Winry didn’t hit Edward everytime he upset her. It’s physical abuse and I also hate when women do it to men it’s comedy’s relief, nobody would be laughing if it was the other way around.
I dunno, I don't think those hits are any more "real" than Buccaneer FULL ON PUNCHING Edd with his steel claws and spraying blood everywhere. It's just a visual representation of "this character is angry". Secondly, that doctor just WHACKED Lan Fan and Mei on the head with during the "don't interfere with the affairs of our country" scene, and it was hilarious AF.
So when Kimbley was talking to Winry he wasn’t actually lying. Everything he said was genuine. Although the one part he did leave out was that his squad was sent out to kill them not help them. But he does legitimately respect their determination.
It also makes what he said way more fucked up. If he was sent there to kill them, him saying "I wish I had been able to meet them" can be interpreted as "I wish I could have been the one to fight them/kill them." HOO BOY
To be fair, did he actually say that his squad was sent to help them? He said “to recover their bodies”. That doesn’t mean help, that means to confirm their deaths. Scar was the one who killed Winry’s parents.
Not so much their determination, but their coherence. Kimbley constantly makes everyone around them realize that they really have no morals and that the whole "don't kill people" and trying to be good is just hypocrisy on most cases "Oh, you wanted to come to the war to do good and got surprised that you had to kill people?" All in all, kimblee might be a psico but he knows he is one and doesn't expect others to abide by his worldview. But he *does* expect others to abide by *their* own worldview. And most characters don't The Rockbell were an unusual exception of people who actually acted in the high moral standards most people only demand of others

Fun little detail, when Greed #1 is about to be roasted in the boiling pot, he says "Everyone but Sloth is here", Pride was there, he was, not just in the shadows, but WAS the shadows.
Kimblee is honestly a really interesting character. He isn't just an edgy psychopath who wants to kill for the lulz. He has a certain set of princibles that guide his actions, and to he has much more in common with the Homonculi than humans. If the Homonculi win, then he was right. He is letting bigger forces than him, decide the morality of his actions. In a world where humans win, he ends up in prison, and he is cool with it. Thing about Kimblee in that flashback is, while he IS manipulating Winry to gain her trust, he is NOT lying when he says he respects her parents. He was indeed sent to kill them but Scar got to them first; in the manga, when he found their bodies and the photo with Winry (which he personally sent back to their family), one of his men commented that they DESERVED their deaths for defying orders to NOT treat Ishvalans… Kimblee retorted that they shouldn’t be insulted for following their convictions and beliefs. He respects that as doctors, they refused to murder or deny treatment to the people of Ishval based on their Hippocratic Oaths; Kimblee doesn’t hold that respect for Roy and Riza because despite not wanting to kill they still did it and didn’t follow their values. As for the Elric brothers, he’s intrigued at this point; he thinks they’re naive, but he’s curious as to what they’ll do with that conviction - will they follow through or break? On the matter of Pride, it’s probably the most shocking twist in the series and the one anyone going in blind DESERVES to not be spoiled on; once you know however, it recontextualises EVERY scene Selina appears in before this. The first episode he appeared in, “Those Who Lurk Underground”, is the one place where ALL the homunculi appeared (if not as a group together) - and while Greed asked about Sloth he DID NOT ask about Pride; he knew he was there, in the shadows. He also talks about helping his father out, but he’s talking about Father not Bradley (who speaking in code says he might just help one day). Then his school report about how much he loves his dad… and of course, the fact when he pretends to innocently upset Ed, he’s doing it on purpose to mess with him. Poor Mrs. Bradley though; the husband and son she loves so much are monsters plotting the death of the entire country including her, and she has no idea. That sweet woman deserves NONE of this, and even having seen the whole series years ago thinking about that still hurts… oof.
Kimblee was being 100% honest with Winry about how much he felt about her parents. He was even telling the truth about how he was sad he couldn't save them. It doesn't matter if it's mass murder or medicine, if someone takes pride in their work then Kimblee will respect them.

That moment of Buccaneer's envy always endears me to him. It's obvious that he wishes he had a cute girl to look after him like Ed, but my headcanon for the "life not being fair" moment was him thinking about Olivier since he can never really "have" her. Also, he called Winry cute, and she and Olivier share a lot of physical characteristics, so....
Haven’t kept up with a series like this in years. I get so much nostalgia watching people react to these classics. Also Lola’s ability to predict is CRAZY. She’ll make 10 predictions and only miss 1, even with nothing to lead her there. I almost thought y’all were pre watching but the reactions are too genuine 😂
To make sure, kimblee had genuine admiration for the Rockwells and wanted to meet them. He dislikes/despises people who aren't true to their word and way of living so when he heard of doctors who refused to leave the battlefield and treat everyone, he had true respect for them.
Oh you girls are for sure going to appreciate Kimblee hahaha. Probably my favorite antagonist in the series along with Pride. He is like the opposite of Edward Elric in terms of morality
"clearly" 8pm makes me laugh because she says that as the sun filters through the windows 🤣 Also you guys going through the five stages of grief with the reveal about Selim being Pride is pure gold
So Kimble’s talk about Whinrey’s parents is part of a dropped plot line from the manga. During the war the Rockbells refused to stop helping people, Amestrian or Ishvallan. This became an issue for the government so they ordered Kimblee to kill them. He laments he has to do it because these people are sticking to their principles no matter what. Regardless he’d was willing to do it, but Scar got to them first. Kimblee is IMO genuine with Winrey. He respected the Rockbells, which just adds another fun layer to his character.
I always found it so wierd that Pride is this raging shadow monster and Wrath is the calm and collected ruler of a nation. Always felt like their names were switched, and it's even wierder when the other homunculi are so "stereotypical" in relation to their sins, with gluttony being a fat guy that eats everything, Lust being an attractive lady, etc.
I think it's quite clever that Envy is a shapeshifter, Sloth is a powerhouse with insane potential and Lust shows constant sadism (we see a lot more bloodlust than actual lust from her).
He represents more the cold calculating anger, than the explosive one. For all the homonculi the author chose one specific way that sin could manifest. (like with Lust, she represented bloodlust and desire much more than libido)
Pride is literally father’s true form. He is his Father’s pride, the most homunculus of the homunculi. Selim is just the container (or his flask). Wrath is the leader of an aggressive military-state. The greatest form of violence that can be unleashed in the world is through Governments, who’s leaders often act diplomatically and calculated. Their characterisations are great.
In the manga we learn that what Kimblee said was true: He was part of the team that recovered the Rockbell's bodies. This was because he had been sent to kill them for helping Ishvalans. Scar just beat him to it.
The first people out of the protagonists who i would "take to war with me": Olivier Armstrong, Roy Mustang (he's incredibly ambitious, and will do whatever it takes to survive and win), Scar
I am mindblown that this is something I didn't know This, Wrath, how have I managed to not know these things with the other spoilers I do know from this show unfortunately
Kimblee was actually being honest about Winry's parents. He is not *just* a psychopath edgelord, he is simply at peace with the fact that, like other state alchemists, he is a human weapon whose main purpose is killing. While he is sadistic and enjoys it, there's no denying that he is honest to his beliefs. He doesn't try to deny the nature of his job and basically of his existence, if his job is killing civilians, that's what he will do. Top tier villain.
Exactly. Kimblee said from his own mouth in his conversation with Edward that he is aware that his beliefs and mindset are different from what society allows. But anytime he's confronted with these moral or philosophical issues, he's always 100% straight up with voicing what he believes and doesn't bend because it's easy or convenient.
As many people have already said, Winry's parents are the ideal people Kimblee likes and respects the most. The respect he sends is 100% sure. But at the time, the military command regarded their parents as a threat, because they cure enemy(isyubal people), so they pretended to be accidental and tried to get rid of them. What was put in there was Kimblee, and apart from the respect to them, Kimblee must have killed them for his misssion. But only after they death by scar did they arrive at the scene, and when soldiers blame them, Kimblee said with looking at a family photo with Winley, "Just as you're do yours duty as a soldier, these people did their duty as doctors. I like people like that. It is too sad. I wanted to see you when you were alive. ". But if Scar hadn't killed Winly's parents, Winly's foe would have 100% changed from Scar to Kimblee. This is because, as kimblee said their duty as a doctor, he believes he should himself fulfill his duty as a soldier. If he had protected Winley's parents by projecting his personal emotion and respect, he would have been disgusted with himself. He respects all forms of values. No matter how terrible it is and how contrary from him. He respects and likes people who consistently carry out their values even if it is against his value and hostile to him. And on the contrary, he disgusted those who easily change and give up their values even if they are on the same side. Of course, it is not meaning that he's the true common soldier like mustang and olivia. Kimblee just joined and obeyed the army only because that era at that time require for "a ruthless and perfect soldier who fights well in war" and that was in line with Kimbley's desire. He doesn't follow the common values that like Mustang or Olivia believes like protecting the people or fighting for the country... Kimblee's actions like cooperate with the Homunculus who are trying to use Amestris and their people to make some terrible plans may be contradictory, because duties as a common soldier include protecting the people and the country. But Kimbley's principles are not wrong. Kimbley be loyal as a soldier, but since his army is now dominated by 'Father' and homunculus, So it is correct to obeying the plans of homunculus is also his duty as a 'soldier of the Amestris'.
The original FMA might not have been canon but I recommend that show as well as Black Clover and Demon Slayer. I like dubs and subs or both.Just my opinion.
The shock lol Pride is a great antagonist. I never much cared for Winry and Ed subplot of discovering there feelings, must be because I never really connected with her character.
And this.. is why if you ever comment shit like, "We already met pride, just you wait" on any episode.. you ruin the magic.. that look right there on their faces when they learned Selim was Pride, brilliant.
Once again you prove why you are the best reaction channel out there! Hunter x Hunter would of course be great for you, but have you thought about My Hero Academia? Lots of new children hahaha! Would be great to see the show in a poll some time in the future!
The writer (Hiromu Arakawa) she doesn't really like children eh 😅 Maybe someone has stated this before Don't get too attached with children in this story 🤣
I would suggest you to watch "My Hero Academia" next. That's also a great anime that gives us a very mature view about a super human society with all its inequalities, and proposes to question ourselves about how would the world be if humans had super powers (not only a small group of people). I believe you would like it.
So many questions are generated thru watching this show, and unless someone can provide an example all questions are answered by completing the show. It's a shitty comment but it's neatly wrapped up is all I can say.

Winry is sunshine. Written and drawn that way.
In the manga we learn that what Kimblee said was true: He was part of the team that recovered the Rockbell's bodies. This was because he had been sent to kill them for helping Ishvalans. Scar just beat him to it.
20:25 I love the whispering 😂
5:22 meanwhile Kimblee 'Sipps coffee'' with eyes closedf like a gentlemen.
12:16 She looked away, she missed the panel!
King Bradley and Selim are technically brothers cuz they've the same father 😂
And the oldest brother looks the youngest whole the oldest _looking_ is the youngest.
Bradley: Selim will never become a weakness in my life.
Now you know why.
This episode gives the best reactions in the whole series
"Kimblee intervene" lol
"He never was the spider " 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Your reactions to the Pride reveal were priceless😂
I've always loved this episode, when Winry admitted she was in love with Ed I shrieked like a school girl.🤗
Lmao amazing XD the pure shock
Pride is my favorite homunculus.
Countdown to episode 40
LOL the left girl reaction to Selim was like someone witnessing a murder.
i always laughed every time they saw Selim and were like "awww what a cute booooooy" XDDDD
3:19 hey, it's my boys! If I told you one of them will have one of the greatest monologues of the series...
The first people out of the protagonists who i would "take to war with me":
Olivier Armstrong, Roy Mustang (he's incredibly ambitious, and will do whatever it takes to survive and win), Scar
Episode 40 creeps closer.
OMFG the amount of denial Lola went through with Selim LOLOLOL
8PM and it's THAT bright outside? what thhe hell.. when it gets to 8pm here the sky is completely dark already, for at least an hour
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS, the Selim reveal is so damn cool!

I am mindblown that this is something I didn't know
This, Wrath, how have I managed to not know these things with the other spoilers I do know from this show unfortunately
LM Reaction drinking game: Everytime they want to kill themselves: drink. LOL
Remember how the comments were sus when you said "i need to protect this boy"?
Ah, here we go. This is going to be a pride... I mean, a ride.
Salim always manages to give me the creeps
The original FMA might not have been canon but I recommend that show as well as Black Clover and Demon Slayer. I like dubs and subs or both.Just my opinion.
holup. you're telling me whereveryou guys are it's 8pm and it's THAT sunny?! whoa.
The shock lol Pride is a great antagonist.
I never much cared for Winry and Ed subplot of discovering there feelings, must be because I never really connected with her character.
her bradley storyline shattered in one episode lmao!
A good show and very unique is Psycho Pass.
Is the third season any good? I liked the first two seasons, I wasn’t completely sold on the movie though
@@boniboni4912 I like third season. Mu favorite is first season, but third season is better second, and the third movie (after season 3) as well.
Don't worry about it, noboby is preperd for the reveal of Pride.
crazy thing even though kimblee is a little fucking nuts, he was probably genuine when speaking about the Rockbells
19:49 Those faces! Ahahahah!
39 and 40.... that's all I'll say. The reveals!
i remember a different anime...i dont know why but this is totally different
And here I am again, kind of wishing these two had watched the 2003 adaptation first. :-)
And this.. is why if you ever comment shit like, "We already met pride, just you wait" on any episode.. you ruin the magic.. that look right there on their faces when they learned Selim was Pride, brilliant.
Buccaneer the Chad jealous of Ed lol.
At the moment you buy lights for filming i’ll literally expect you to have 10 episodes in a row just for their hype 😅
Once again you prove why you are the best reaction channel out there! Hunter x Hunter would of course be great for you, but have you thought about My Hero Academia? Lots of new children hahaha! Would be great to see the show in a poll some time in the future!
Remember the book about Selim’s father? Not talking about Bradley
Book report
セリムの正体を知った時のリアクションが最高です!
I was waiting for this so much especially since they adored Selim what a wonderful child.. :D bannngg!!!!!! his pride :D :D the reaction.. :D
Denial at first about Selim. Classic
The writer (Hiromu Arakawa) she doesn't really like children eh 😅
Maybe someone has stated this before
Don't get too attached with children in this story 🤣
OH YEAH WERE HERE!
Your jaws will be on the ground where they fell girls. Just a reminder. :D
I just found out today that I wasn’t subbed… FOR HOW LONG!? I was sure I subbed during another series
I would suggest you to watch "My Hero Academia" next. That's also a great anime that gives us a very mature view about a super human society with all its inequalities, and proposes to question ourselves about how would the world be if humans had super powers (not only a small group of people). I believe you would like it.
Daredevil next live action.
Berserk '97 next animated.
I recommend Black Clover and the original FMA although it's not cannon technically.
So many questions are generated thru watching this show, and unless someone can provide an example all questions are answered by completing the show. It's a shitty comment but it's neatly wrapped up is all I can say.
I'm still wondering what lasers and other energy weapons would do to Pride.
8 o'clock pm with sun? How strange 🤔
I love your reactions! you should definitly watch made in abyss
11:30 12:37
Now go back and rewatch some scenes with Selim in it.
So many new episodes! I love it!
And I return at least one more time to voice my vote for "Spy x Family" as the next show you should add to the rotation. You've been through enough you deserve happiness too.
