Himani Parab, a 20-year-old from Dadar, Mumbai, made history as the first recipient of the Arjuna Award for mallakhamb on November 13, 2021. She embarked on her mallakhamb journey at the tender age of five at Shree Samartha Vyayam Mandir (SSVM), Dadar, under the expert tutelage of Uday Deshpande, the 68-year-old SSVM secretary and chief coach.
